"Intuitive Low-Code Platform That Speeds Up Development and Automation"
What do you like best about ServiceNow App Engine?

I appreciate ServiceNow App Engine for making application development intuitive and efficient. Its low-code environment, combined with workflow automation, helps transform ideas into working solutions quickly. The ability to integrate, scale, and manage applications within a single platform adds great value. It significantly improves both development speed and operational efficiency. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ServiceNow App Engine?

While ServiceNow App Engine is a powerful platform, one drawback is that more advanced customizations often still require scripting knowledge, which takes away from the simplicity you’d expect from a low-code approach. On top of that, working through complex use cases can be challenging, and debugging issues isn’t always straightforward. With such a broad set of features to understand, it can feel overwhelming at times—especially for beginners—so the learning curve can be a bit steep. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Workflow Automation with ServiceNow App Engine"
What do you like best about ServiceNow App Engine?

I use ServiceNow App Engine to build custom business applications, automate workflows, and manage approval processes. It helps us quickly create low-code solutions such as request forms, integrations, and task automation, which improves productivity and reduces manual work. The best thing about ServiceNow App Engine is how easy it is to build and automate applications using low-code tools. It allows us to quickly build custom applications and automate workflows without any heavy coding. The platform also integrates well with other systems and provides good visibility into requests and approvals. These features are valuable because they make it easier to respond to business needs quickly. Instead of waiting for long development timelines, we can build and modify applications using low-code tools. Integrations also help us connect different systems so information flows automatically, which improves efficiency and reduces errors. We integrate ServiceNow App Engine with Microsoft Teams, email, and other internal systems. This helps automate notifications, approvals, and data sharing, which improves efficiency and keeps everyone updated. The initial setup was relatively straightforward. With the available documentation and platform guidance, our team was able to start building applications and workflows quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ServiceNow App Engine?

While the platform is powerful, some advanced configurations still require scripting and can be a bit complex for new users. Also, the learning curve for some features like integrations and complex workflows can be slightly high. Improving documentation and simplifying certain configurations would make it even better. "ServiceNow App Engine High Octane Development for Modern Teams"
What do you like best about ServiceNow App Engine?

What impresses me most about App Engine is how effectively it bridges the gap between “citizen developers” and professional coders. With App Engine Studio (AES), people who understand the business logic but aren’t software engineers can still build functional apps by starting from templates and using a drag-and-drop interface. For the more technical side of the house, the Integration Hub is a lifesaver. It makes connecting to third-party tools like Slack, Jira, or SAP feel like a native part of the workflow rather than a painful custom coding project. I also love that because it’s built on the "Now Platform," every app you build automatically inherits the same enterprise-grade security, reporting, and mobile-responsive UI without any extra effort. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ServiceNow App Engine?

The biggest hurdle for me is the pricing and licensing model. It can get quite expensive, and keeping track of “App Engine units” or per-user costs feels unnecessarily complicated at times. That complexity also makes me hesitate to build smaller, experimental apps, because I’m always worried about bumping into the next cost tier.

Also, even though it’s marketed as “low-code,” there’s still a significant learning curve. If you want to move beyond basic forms and build truly sophisticated logic, you eventually hit a point where you need to know JavaScript or understand the specific “ServiceNow way” of doing things. The UI Builder, in particular, can feel clunky and unintuitive, especially compared with more modern, consumer-grade design tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Efficient, Scalable App Development Within the Now Platform"
What do you like best about ServiceNow App Engine?

ServiceNow App Engine offers a low-code/no-code development environment that can significantly speed up application delivery. Its seamless integration with the Now Platform lets developers build, test, and deploy custom applications without having to leave the ecosystem. The intuitive drag-and-drop interface, reusable components, and built-in workflows make collaboration straightforward for both citizen developers and professional developers. In addition, being able to leverage existing ServiceNow data models and APIs helps reduce development effort considerably while keeping everything consistent within the platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ServiceNow App Engine?

One of the biggest challenges with ServiceNow App Engine is the steep learning curve, especially for new developers who aren’t yet familiar with the platform. Licensing costs can also be a concern for smaller organizations. On the development side, debugging and troubleshooting more complex scripts can be difficult because the available tooling is limited compared to traditional IDEs. In addition, customization can feel restrictive once you start pushing beyond the platform’s boundaries, and performance can sometimes degrade when you’re dealing with large data volumes or more complex business logic. "Rapid Low-Code App Building in a Unified Environment"
What do you like best about ServiceNow App Engine?

1. Low‑Code Development

App Engine enables creators of any skill level to rapidly build apps using drag‑and‑drop tools, templates, and guided interfaces.

2. Unified Environment

It is one place to design, build, test, deploy, and manage apps

It empowers both technical and non‑technical users to quickly build intelligent, enterprise‑grade apps Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ServiceNow App Engine?

App Engine is enterprise‑scale, feature‑rich, and deeply integrated across the Now Platform.

For teams that simply need small, lightweight apps, the platform can feel too heavy and too powerful.

Its comprehensive enterprise toolset and governance can make it more complex than needed for smaller or simpler applications.

The learning curve is lower than traditional development but not necessarily low compared to simpler low‑code competitors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Flexible Low-Code Platform for Streamlined Automation"
What do you like best about ServiceNow App Engine?

I use ServiceNow App Engine to build low-code applications that automate business processes, manage data efficiently, and improve overall operational productivity. I really like its low-code capability, which enables rapid application development while still providing the flexibility to customize and scale as needed. The platform's reusability of components, role-based access control, and reporting capabilities stand out to me. Setting it up was relatively easy thanks to good documentation and built-in tools. Overall, I would rate it 9/10 for its flexibility and low-code capability. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ServiceNow App Engine?

There is a learning curve for advanced features and debugging complex workflows can be improved. It can be improved with better error messages, clear logs, and step by step workflow tracing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Overall, it helps organizations innovate quickly while still maintaining scalability and security. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ServiceNow App Engine?

One limitation of ServiceNow App Engine is that more advanced customizations still require strong platform knowledge, which can create a steep learning curve for new users. Licensing and implementation costs may also be high, especially for smaller organizations. In addition, performance can sometimes be affected when applications become highly complex. Finally, while the platform is flexible overall, in certain edge cases it may still feel more constrained than a fully custom-built solution. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy Low-Code App Development with ServiceNow Integration"
What do you like best about ServiceNow App Engine?

What I like most about ServiceNow App Engine is its ease of use and ease of implementation. It allows us to quickly build applications and automate processes using low-code tools. It also has a good number of features and provides easy integration with other ServiceNow modules like ITSM and CMDB, which makes development faster. Because of this, the frequency of use is high in our daily work when building internal solutions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ServiceNow App Engine?

One thing I feel about ServiceNow App Engine is that sometimes it becomes a little complex because of the large number of features. For simple use cases the ease of use is good, but for advanced requirements we still need scripting, which reduces the ease of implementation for new developers. "ServiceNow App Engine: Fast, User-Friendly Low-Code App Building with AI Assist"
What do you like best about ServiceNow App Engine?

ServiceNow App Engine is very easy and user-friendly to use. It saves developers a lot of time when creating applications with its visual drag-and-drop interface, and it requires very little coding. With the help of ServiceNow App Engine, even citizen developers can build, automate, and deploy applications rapidly. It includes Generative AI assistance like Now Assist and also integrates with existing ServiceNow data. Overall, it can be used frequently by both developers and admins. We can also create unlimited custom tables. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ServiceNow App Engine?

ServiceNow App Engine licensing is too expensive, and even if we get it, we still have limited customization and flexibility. If an application is built poorly, it becomes very challenging to maintain, which can then lead to issues during ServiceNow upgrades. Having a lot of custom tables can make this even more difficult. Sometimes, moving updates from one instance to another can also be challenging. If the solution isn’t properly architected, there’s a real risk that it becomes overly complex.
