Sentieo's core strength is its search feature across a very robust database of documents. You can easily find needed documents or sections within them, with simple keyword searches and more advanced Boolean searches. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sentieo's quality of document and transcript coverage has declined in recent years. It was only after several complaints from myself that they added RNS for UK markets (the equivalent of an 8-K). There has basically been no development on the core search feature which used to be their relative strength. Their main competitor (which purchased them recently) has now caught up. I'd recommend them instead.
Sentieo's financial data is not nearly as robust as its competitors. Its Excel plugin is missing some basic fields like ISIN codes. They also do not have live pricing data for some major international markets, which precludes price alerts. Their Screener tool is pretty good, but cannot be run "as of" a certain date, which is standard functionality in other platforms. Finally, transcript coverage is comparable to other platforms, but there are some holes that I think should be addressed given Sentieo's focus on document search.
I wish Sentieo would invest more in this blocking and tackling instead of flashy features like "sentiment analysis" that few real practitioners utilize. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sentieo is a one stop shop offering high quality data and features. I have used other products in the past and became frustrated with haphazard holes in data. Sentieo is reliable and integrates with my work flow. Digging in deeper into companies is intuitive and the search features are a fantastic time saver. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The initial learning curve required to master the high amount of resources available. However after a couple of weeks it became very intuitive. I felt sorry for bending the ear of the guys in the live support at the start. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sentieo has great search features. As a new user, I find myself still finding new ways to further dial in my searches. Unlike other tools, in which it takes a lot of scrolling to get to the information you want, in Sentieo, you can generally get exactly the inform that you're seeking in a very efficient manner. The table tools seem cool. They aren't always that accurate or useful. I don't fault Sentieo for it very much; I haven't come across a single tool that can consistently make an error-free times series of filing line items. Sentieo does a good job, but it's not perfect. Sentieo's main features center around equity and company analysis, and allows for easy screening of documents to identify investment opportunities, and the combination of qualitative and quantitative data to form an investment opinion. The Screener Tool allows the analyst to easily search investments using a wide range of financial metrics, and to include a firm's own financial metrics in the screening process. Furthermore, the Document Search and Red Line features allow for the easy screening of financial documents, as well as easy tools to evaluate how a company's financial reports have changed from year to year.
The Equity Data Terminal is powered by Refinitiv and provides the user with a range of financial statement views for both quick analysis as well as deep dives into SEC filings.
Perhaps one of the most useful tools is the Comparable Analysis Tool, which allows analysts to build platforms aggregating key financial metrics used by the analyst, greatly driving efficiency by being able to quickly and easily pull the data analysts care about the companies they cover. While Sentieo is great for company research, its coverage of markets and mutual funds is lacking. in the future, wider coverage of indices and pooled investment vehicle could greatly drive the usefulness of Sentieo. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Document Search is probably a unique tool in the market right now.
TableX Manager is awesome.
Everything related to news feeds works perfectly.
Excel Plugin works great.
Financial Data Terminal works as well as other alternatives.
Plotter and Alternatives are great.
Excellent customer support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Lack of Portfolio Analysis tools.
Not a big fan of Notes.
Lack of some "management" tools such as dividend visibility.
Dashboards have improved, but are not quite there yet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I appreciate the integration of market data, news and filings, with the user-friendly notebook. This makes it very fast and simple to record thoughts and analysis on market information, particularly during earnings season. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are some missing pieces in the market data- e.g. index-level summary financial data (e.g. yields, EPS data, margins, etc.), mutual fund prices, options prices, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
So much more effective than Bloomberg search. I can find exactly what I'm looking for very quickly, which shortens my research time and allows me to spend that time doing other things. I also love how easy it is to pull historical data into one table and export to excel. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Occasionally the tables will be missing data or it will be in the wrong timeframe, but this is usually an easy solution. Truly not much to complain about. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The ability to use the full suite of capabilities (Document Search, Monitor Lists, Excel Plug-In) to accelerate and deepen my research process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There could be a more intuitive approach to the native / in-browser shortcuts Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sentieo is the best tool out there for sharing research across the team, keeping a single record of our work, the evolution of our investment theses, and collaboration. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Market data is not quite at the same level as Bloomberg, then of, course, nothing is. That said, we've seen continual improvement, and while data across asset classes is sparse, for equity analysis, it covers all the bases. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What I like about Sentieo is its ease of use, The interface is welcoming and intuitive. This is especially so with the Plotter and Document Search functions. When required, support from the platform has always been prompt. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I wish the platform could expand to include data from other asset classes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
