Nothing really. We did explore an AI based solution with Sensible and they did not seem to have an interest or capability. At times, getting a document template set up correctly or revising on the error can take longer than expected and may require multiple rounds of back‑and‑forth to refine. The thing I like most about Sensible is that the team is, well, sensible! They are attentive to our needs and are flexible when there's something we require such as some configuration help.

They also proactively offer support, such as a bi-weekly sync without me needing to ask, and they respond quickly and thoughtfully.

The tool itself is very clean / easy for developers to use, and superior in terms of extraction speed vs. other solutions we've integrated with or evaluated. And the non-LLM aspects of the business using rules-based approaches to extract data are very good.

There is a quite a bit of work required to get consistent results out of a particular document format; to get the accuracy we require, we need specific configurations/template structures for each potential document format we could see. This is not too different from most options in the industry, but it is more work than sometimes expected when the industry preaches that OCR can solve all your data extraction needs at the click of a button. It's not that simple.

For what is like a technically complex tool in the back-end, the Sensible user interface was very easy to get used to and start using. In our context, we needed to parse a huge amount of PDFs for particular information to allow it to be imported via CSV to another system. I think the pricing models could be improved upon. We don't need Sensible on a regular basis for our processes, but rather ad hoc for occasional use. It is incredibly expensive and difficult to justify the license cost if it's not a core part of daily operational processes (if it is though, I have no doubt it's worth every cent). Sensible provides an intuitive UI for defining a document parser, with helpful autocomplete, a responsive preview, and document markup to show how the parser is working.
