The fact that I have excellent help and training at my fingertips. I am a one-man shop, but it feels like I have people that I can go to for help. Securly has helped me manage my students' use on their Chromebooks. It also is a great tool for viewing their screens without having to walk around the room. The chat feature has been instrumental in communicating with them one-on-one about their work, or pushing out an announcement to the class when necessary. There are times that Securly does not update fast enough to see in "real time" what they are looking at. It may be internet lag; sometimes this product does not show what is on the screen. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I dislike the POTENTIAL this platform has for teachers or other school personnel to abuse their power. If used intentionally, Securly can foster good teaching and learning practices. Used incorrectly/maliciously, it can undermine the trust students have for their teachers, attenuate classroom relationships, and make students feel like they can't get away from "Big Brother". I teach 8th grade Digital Literacy & Computer Science class and my students use their chromebook everyday. I can quickly check where my students are just by quickly looking at my screen. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The most important part of Securly is being able to see what tour students are accessing on their 1 to 1 devices in real time. We all know the best security and firewalls arent enough to prevent an intrepid middle school student from finding places they should not be. Our job as educators is to find a way to stay on top of what places a couple of dozen students are visiting simultaneously. Securly lets you do that. Sometimes Securly seems slow to react. You close a site a student is on, and it still appears several minutes later. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Teachers are able to view what students are viewing on their Chromebooks, lock student screens if need be, push URL's, limit tabs, etc. it is much more flexible than GoGuardian, which we had before. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

There are times when the student's screen cannot seen by the teacher. It seems to be a technical issue on Securly's end. They haven't been able to resolve the issue, but recommend removing the student from the session and reinvite. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
