What do you like best about ScyllaDB?

The best aspect of ScyllaDB lies in its unparalleled performance. It handles massive datasets seamlessly, ensuring swift and reliable data access. The scalability is a game-changer for growing projects, providing a robust foundation for evolving requirements Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ScyllaDB?

While ScyllaDB excels in performance, the learning curve can be steep for newcomers. Improved documentation or beginner-friendly resources could enhance the onboarding experience. This was the problem I've personally faced while moving mongodb to scylladb. I've just recently came across to these scylladb live masterclasses, so I think they are working on this problem. What do you like best about ScyllaDB?

With low latency and great throughput, ScyllaDB is renowned for its excellent performance. It is capable of effectively managing several concurrent requests and massive volumes of data. You may easily add more nodes to your cluster without experiencing major downtime or reconfiguration because to its easy horizontal scaling. It is hence appropriate for expanding applications. ScyllaDB and Apache Cassandra can coexist, allowing you to migrate your data with no difficulty using the same client drivers and tools. To provide optimal performance and an even load distribution among nodes, the database automatically shards data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ScyllaDB?

In order to attain its high performance, ScyllaDB can be rather resource-intensive, requiring a large amount of CPU and RAM. When compared to certain alternative NoSQL systems, this may result in increased infrastructure expenses. ScyllaDB has good performance, but careful configuration and tuning may be necessary to get the best results. This can be difficult and time-consuming.There may occasionally be latency spikes due to a variety of factors, including heavy write workloads or node failures. Even though they are uncommon, these can affect applications that need a constant low latency. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about ScyllaDB?

We have been using ScyllaDB for a while now. Amazed with latest features like tablet based data distribution, and rebalacing of data across multiple nodes. The fasted bootstrapping of nodes in a busy cluster is the highlight of scyllaDB which makes it's usage and integration quite seamless. My Current Organisation Infosec is using this for security data analysis and threat protection. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ScyllaDB?

It lacks some of the features which exist in cassandra and some DBs like the graph queries, built-in-search flexibilty etc. High resource consumption as a result of good performance. Customer support and doc could be improvement with time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about ScyllaDB?

What I like best about ScyllaDB is its impressive performance. By fully leveraging modern multi-core processors, ScyllaDB achieves significantly lower latencies and higher throughput compared to traditional NoSQL databases. This high performance makes it ideal for real-time applications and large-scale data handling. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ScyllaDB?

One downside of ScyllaDB is its resource-intensive nature. While it delivers excellent performance, it can require significant hardware resources to operate optimally. This might lead to higher infrastructure costs, especially for smaller organizations or those with limited budgets. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about ScyllaDB?

I like that ScyllaDB is compatible with Cassandra. It fully implements Cassandra Query Language (CQl). This makes migration very easy. It also means that existing skills can be utilised without significant training. (Quick learning curve) The Developer advocate team are really helpful. They understand your questions and reply honestly with appropriate solutions. They will tell you if your architecture or data model is wrong or if ScyllaDB is inappropriate for your use case. There is a lot of courses available for free through ScyllaDB University. Very low latencies Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ScyllaDB?

ScyllaDB only supports ACID transactions across a single partition and not across, multiple partitions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about ScyllaDB?

One of the stand out feature is it's compatiblity when migrated from other NoSQL database like Dynamo DB. Customer team is very helpful and will go one step extra to implement reliable solutions. Performance is one of key aspect about this database.

The ScyllaDB university content and labs are beyond exceptional when used to know more or implement use cases. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ScyllaDB?

Could be bit hard for new comers to learn due to it's complexity and limited docs availability. Enterprise solution could be on the expensive side. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about ScyllaDB?

One of the best things about ScyllaDB is its simplicity to use. We can split the DB into multiple shards to have the resiliency in place. We shifted from another NoSQL solution to ScyllaDB due to it's self-healing and advance caching technology which is very much superior.

Compatibilty with other DBs like cassandra helped us to move easily. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ScyllaDB?

While the free version is good enough, the enterprise version might feel a bit expensive.

Another improvement could be a better customer support team and comprehensive documentation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about ScyllaDB?

We have been utilizing ScyllaDB for a long time now. It is a reliable and highly available NoSQL DB as a result of it's replication. Ensuring that the data remains there even after multiple nodes failure.

Our in-house team got a great help from ScyllaDB support while implementing the DB due to it's supportability with CQL. Best example of data consistency, reliability and performance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ScyllaDB?

While it comes with many benefits, there is still room for advance features that comes with other mature NoSQL databases. Though it is fastly filling up those gaps. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about ScyllaDB?

The product set of ScyllaDB really stands out with its high throughput and low latency oriented, which is perfect for use cases where real-time interaction is important. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ScyllaDB?

It is evident that ScyllaDB is fast but can be complicated depending on the configuration as well as being slightly non-ACID compliant. It offers an excellent service for long-time users but could be confusing to newcomers, and projects with very high standards of consistency will be better off with a different tool. What do you dislike about ScyllaDB?

At first glance enterprise edition would be difficult to grasp due to wide range of option in the scylladb monitoring dashboard. customer support & documentation can be improved. ALso all features compared to other dbs are still under development. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
