ScyllaDB is very fast and has low latency. It handles our healthcare data without delay. The system stays smooth even when data is big. It is easy to read and write data quickly.

Community support is lagging as compared to other popular similar databases. It's hard for a new developer to get hands on it.

We use ScyllaDB to manage our healthcare data. It helps us to get results faster and also helps in running predictions easily. Our data team can analyse records quickly(Data analysis). It help us in saving time and keeps our system stable and fast.

**What do you like best about ScyllaDB?**

The best thing about ScyllaDB is it's internal indexing strategy that helps in great performance while retrieving millions of logs data.The inbuilt metrics monitoring software (grafana) is also a really amazing and we does not need to separately setup the monitoring and metrics dashboard. It's well suited for logs, real-time, and time-series data analytics.

**What do you dislike about ScyllaDB?**

Sometimes the documentation requires more efforts to understand it's internals. I also felt that learning curve in scylladb is different as compared to other databases like Cassandra. But once, we get enough practice, it's just super easy.

**What problems is ScyllaDB solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have to analyse a lot of logs data, and retrieving and storing those data in scylladb was the best move we did. It just retrieves the data, in miliseconds due to it's performance (especially it's indexing strategy). It's caching mechanism is also helping in making our application faster. And we really upgraded our customer UX by loading more and more data in no time and showing great analytics.

**What do you like best about ScyllaDB?**

ScyllaDB is very fast and have in-built encryption system to store the data safely. The extra layer of encryption helps protect confidential records without slowing down the system.

**What do you dislike about ScyllaDB?**

It has very limited ecosystem as it is new DB and thus has a smaller community and suppor. But Scylladb university and some masterclass helps users to get start.

**What problems is ScyllaDB solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ScyllaDB helps us store and manage hospital records in a secure way. The low latency makes data access very fast, even when there is a lot of information and encryption. It keeps patient data safe and improves the overall user experience for both staff and doctors.

**What do you like best about ScyllaDB?**

ScyllaDB is an excellent option for IoT data ingestion because it efficiently manages large volumes of high-throughput, low-latency tasks. When vast amounts of sensor data are being loaded continuously, often in real time, ScyllaDB's shard-per-core architecture ensures that performance remains consistent, avoiding the slowdowns that typically plague traditional databases. Plus, the strength of its community and the wealth of learning resources available are definitely worth mentioning.

**What do you dislike about ScyllaDB?**

ScyllaDB lacks native support for complex secondary indexes and full-text search, which can limit flexibility in some querying patterns. Otherwise everything just works flawlessly.

**What problems is ScyllaDB solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ScyllaDB manages the high-intensive workload of ingesting and querying vast amounts of IoT telemetry data with low latency and high availability. By effectively managing time-series workloads at scale, it provides real-time analytics and monitoring with no performance degradation. **What do you like best about ScyllaDB?**

ScyllaDB is very fast for handling large amounts of time-series health data. The detailed indexing support makes it easier to query specific metrics like heart rate, calories, or workout sessions without scanning the full dataset. It scales horizontally without effort, and new nodes balance the data automatically. For us, real-time reads and writes are critical, and ScyllaDB does that very well.

**What do you dislike about ScyllaDB?**

Some advanced features like graph queries and built-in search are missing, and it still takes time for new team members to learn how to design schemas and indexes in the best way.

This has made our data pipeline stable, scalable, and reliable for our use case, and helping us reducing our database cost and increasing our profits.

Super Fast Speed: The main thing is the speed. It is much faster than other similar databases, and low latency is very good for our application.

Performance at Scaling: We can handle millions of requests and high data load very easily. It scales up without giving us much trouble.

Small community. Good to have user access management inbuilt.

We are able to retrieve data, even when the volume is very high. It works well for both small queries and big workloads, which makes it very useful for our product.

**What do you like best about ScyllaDB?**

My best thing about ScyllaDB is the way it performs under heavy load. We've got a live analytics service we're utilizing, and ScyllaDB doesn't even break a sweat at a million hits per minute. The fact that it's C++-based means that it's more system-efficient than some NoSQL databases we've worked with in the past. We also save on hardware since we don't need as many servers to get the same results. Scaling also couldn't be simpler—horizontal scaling with ScyllaDB simply happens with no extra effort.

**What do you dislike about ScyllaDB?**

My worst fear was how hard it is to learn. If you don't have knowledge of distributed systems or Cassandra-type databases, it's really intimidating to begin. Some of the advanced features are great, but not necessarily easy to grasp for a new user. And also, the tutorials or guides that do exist are generally based on a lot of pre-existing knowledge, so it's difficult for new users. I think more beginner tutorials or step-by-step guides would get a lot more people started.

**What problems is ScyllaDB solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our biggest challenge was scaling our real-time application without having to constantly think about downtime or system lag. ScyllaDB fixes this by offering a high-performance, horizontally scalable backend that can scale with our requirements. It supports high volumes of reads and writes with very minimal latency, which is precisely what we were looking for. Prior to ScyllaDB, we had slow query issues and nodes that were overloaded, but now both of these issues are largely a thing of the past. The efficiency of running on fewer resources also saves us money on cloud infrastructure, which allows us to put more money into optimizing other areas of our stack.

I like it's performance and very low latency across the globe. It handles massive datasets seamlessly, ensuring swift and reliable data access. It's best for handling time-series data, and when we need real-time analytics.

It's a bit different from other NoSQL DBs. And it's documentation is also bit difficult to find ready-made examples for our use case unlike we can find solutions in StackOverflow and Reddit for other databases.

ScyllaDB is very fast. We store a lot of user data like clicks, views, and preferences, and it handles everything smoothly. It’s easy to scale when we need more performance because of it's auto-scaling mechanism which is really very efficient. Due to it's lockless, shared-nothing architecture  it's able to handle concurrent reads and writes very efficiently.

You’ll need some time to understand how to design the data model the right way, otherwise everything is good.

Our user recommendation system is powered by ScyllaDB. It enables us to present the appropriate goods and information to the appropriate audience at the appropriate moment. When I used scylladb for the first time, It was really fast as compared to other NoSQL alternatives. It gives results with very low latency.  It handles large workloads easily and keeps performance stable even during peak usage.

Some features, such as graph queries and built-in search, are not yet there.

We store and process large amount of data in ScyllaDB.

Latency: Ultra-low latency even at high throughput.

What I like most about ScyllaDB is that it simply gets on with it and does it well without having to be spoon-fed along the way. I've loaded it pretty heavily, and it's remained responsive and reliable at every turn. I didn't have to faff around too much to get things operational, which admittedly was a bit of a godsend. The inbuilt monitoring software is also a great idea—actually, it makes sense, and they are helping me solve issues before they are problems.

**What do you dislike about ScyllaDB?**

If I had to point out something, I’d say the learning curve in the beginning was a bit steep, especially coming from other databases. Some of the documentation could be clearer or have more real-world examples. Also, certain advanced configurations can get a little tricky if you’re not already familiar with distributed systems. But once I got past that, the overall experience has been solid.

ScyllaDB solves the performance bottlenecks I used to run into with other databases when dealing with large amounts of data and high traffic. There are well known trade-offs which you have to understand when choosing any NoSQL db instead of any relational: eventual consistency, joins, transactions etc.

Our platform is serving large number of users, as well as high volume of content. We are using ScyllaDB to store the state. As the audience is distributed, we are benefiting from geo-distributed cluster which accepts the write at the region where the user is located, and making it eventually consistent across the globe.

Traditional, vertically-scalable databases, while having other valuable attributes (such as ACID) are not well suited for globally distributed and horizontally scalable set ups.

I have come across scylladb through bytebytego.com youtube video, wherein discord uses scylladb for storing its trillions of messages in the DB
What I understood is that it has capabilities like
High Performance ,Ease of Integration/Implementation,
Seamless Scalability and Cassandra Compatibilty

Although I have to see how it scales in my company, we are currently using Cassandra but doing a POC to use scylladb
I have personally used this in a personal project, real-time Finance Tracker. I didn't face many issues while configuring or using it.

There is a learning curve; its a bit different from other DBs. 
Also, with little documentation,n sometimes its difficult to find solutions in Reddit or StackOverflow; this will improve overtime.
