What do you like best about ScyllaDB?

ScyllaDB is great at scalability and Performance which makes it easy to quickly add or remove nodes from the cluster as necessary to accommodate escalating workloads or adapt to shifting traffic patterns. Because it employs a shared-nothing design, each node in the cluster is autonomous and has its own ability to function. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ScyllaDB?

Scylla's query capability is less comprehensive than other NoSQL databases, including MongoDB. Its applicability for particular use cases may be constrained

it does not provide all of the same query operators and functionalities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is ScyllaDB solving and how is that benefiting you?

Traditional databases might struggle to keep up as data quantities increase. They may also be susceptible to single points of failure, which reduces their dependability. By adding more nodes to the cluster, Scylla's distributed design helps databases to grow horizontally. it is highly fault-tolerant and able to manage massive amounts of data, guaranteeing that data is still accessible even in the event of a node failure. Product Description

Manage terabytes to petabytes of digital information with millions of read/write operations and msec P99 response. Our high availability architecture takes full advantage of modern infrastructure and networking capabilities. This translates to dramatically higher throughput and lower latency--eliminating barriers to scale.

How do you position yourself against your competitors?

ScyllaDB is designed for modern multi-processor, multi-core systems. Whereas other databases can either scale horizontally or vertically, but not both, ScyllaDB is ideal for both scale up and scale out architecture, getting the most out of your hardware infrastructure. Also, ScyllaDB is written in C++ to take full advantage of operating system and hardware capabilities. It is not written in slower languages that may exhibit stop-the-world pauses like Java garbage collection. ScyllaDB permits users to take full advantage of their existing Apache Cassandra or DynamoDB client applications while benefiting from ScyllaDB's performance advantages.

What do you like best about ScyllaDB?

We have been using ScyllaDB for a while now. Amazed with latest features like tablet based data distribution, and rebalacing of data across multiple nodes. The fasted bootstrapping of nodes in a busy cluster is the highlight of scyllaDB which makes it's usage and integration quite seamless. My Current Organisation Infosec is using this for security data analysis and threat protection. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ScyllaDB?

It lacks some of the features which exist in cassandra and some DBs like the graph queries, built-in-search flexibilty etc. High resource consumption as a result of good performance. Customer support and doc could be improvement with time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is ScyllaDB solving and how is that benefiting you?

High scaling capabilities and automatic sharding functionalities differs it from other DBs and serve the purpose of our reliable NoSQL database. We store large sets of data and rarely had a problem with the accessibility. It's cloud agnostic so containerization does help in keeping things easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
