The flexibility to organize, tag, re-organize, and print. I can create sub-documents with the tag/label system and print individual course content. The flexibility to copy/paste between documents is terrific. Collaboration in real-time is also a big plus, as well as Scrivener's platform pricing and reasonable pricing of updates. The formating options are fussy and hard to fine-tune. More tutorials and visual overviews of the formatting would be helpful. In addition to the Literature Latte Community, it would be great to have a regular Support team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

When I'm writing, I need to keep things as organized as possible, and Scrivener makes that not only possible but easy and efficient with its organizational tools. It allows me to create multiple folders and manage my writing and outlines and research and characters how I want. It's ideal for working on a long project like a novel. Scrivener has so many options to let you customize how you want your layout and what's the best way to get the most out of your writing, so sometimes it can be tricky to know how to do something or if it's even an option. Usually, I will Google around and find someone who has done it and learn from them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I love that Scrivener doesn't only let you write your story, but keep all your notes in one place. Being able to track your word count and how close you are to your proget target is amazing too. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I wish that using cloud services to sync your writing was a little more intuitive. If you have two devices open working on the same document, it's possible to save over changes without being able to get them back Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It makes the process flow more easily, and it can be used for plotting as well as writing the actual book. It's great for tracking daily word counts, as well as setting daily/project word goals. Broad adoption in many countries and active support community. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The developers haven't synchronized their production pipelines yet, so there are differences between the versions for Windows and MacOS. Compiling the final document can be a bit tricky, and takes careful thought to ensure formatting is set up properly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I started using Scrivener when I was writing my book, thinking it would be a great tool to help me stay organized. The software creator has a plethora of information online on using and getting the most out of the platform. So many things you can do with this software if you're willing to spend the time learning it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I found I didn't have the time to spend learning how to maximize the benefits of Scrivener. I use it occasionally to create a board of lists to help stay organized, but that is probably an insult to the creator. I just found it was too complex for me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I love having all my notes, plot lines, and the manuscript itself all in one place. It is all streamlined and in one place. It is simple to learn to use, and then you can organize your notes and story elements however it works best for you. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I don't particularly appreciate that there is not a setup or built-in way to save to the cloud automatically. The compiling is a bit technical, and finding the information I needed to do that was daunting, but that is only a process one needs to concern themself with once the story is complete. Asa novelist, I've been using Scrivener for years. This affordable writing solution doesn't make it easy to write a book--it's never easy--but it does make it easier. You can easily keep track of chapters, sections, and scenes, keep notes, with images if you like, export to a variety of formats, see your book as a storyboard, and much more.
Scrivener has a ton of features, and I'm still learning them. If I want to do something I haven't done before, I can research how to do it on the Literature and Latte website (makers of Scrivener) and chances are, there's a cool trick to accomplish it. You don't need to know everything Scrivener can do to use it effectively. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The aesthetics of Scrivener are pretty basic, and I wish the software had more display options, like night mode. Allowing writers to change colors and themes would be fun. These things aren't necessary but would be nice. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Scrivener is designed for writers and allows you to write content in small chunks when inspiration hits. That allows us to gradually compile our content as we research, then shuffle it around into a final document. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Like many software products, there's a bit of learning to do. But once you have understood the basics it's a very easy application to use. There's plenty of high quality tutorials on the developer's website. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like the bulletin board that I can easily and quickly do a brain dump of all my thoughts. It's then a breeze to rearrange and organize them as you would notecards. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's a bit challenging to figure out without spending some time going through the tutorials. The program author does have a ton of tutorials available, though, and there is plenty to learn. It just takes time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
