## screenpresso Reviews
  ### 1. Effortless Capture and Organization, Limited Upgrades

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alexandro D. | Integration Support Engineer, Consulting, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 25, 2025

**What do you like best about screenpresso?**

I find Screenpresso incredibly valuable for my work and personal use. I love its ease of use, especially when it comes to image editing. It's brilliant how every capture is automatically stored, making them easy to access later. Compared to other software, Screenpresso stands out as lightweight yet packed with very useful functionalities. The organization it provides by keeping everything in one place is something I really appreciate. Additionally, the initial setup was super fast and easy, without even requiring admin privileges, which is a huge plus. I also enjoy how it allows me to document and edit images on the go, as well as record videos for educational purposes like training.

**What do you dislike about screenpresso?**

I don't like how the 'lifetime' license for Screenpresso is misleading because it's only valid for a specific version. It feels limiting because I am stuck on an older version if I want to use what I paid for. Additionally, I find it frustrating that Screenpresso is not available for Mac, which is problematic since I use both a Mac and a Windows PC.

**What problems is screenpresso solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Screenpresso for efficient documentation and image editing. It helps me capture, store, and access information easily, aiding in creating educational content. Its lightweight nature and organizational features make it superior to basic tools.

**What do you like best about screenpresso?**

The ease of use and the ability to easily edit screenshots with frames to highlight, arrows, and watermarks.

**What do you dislike about screenpresso?**

Maybe the interface could be more visually appealing, it seems a bit archaic, but that doesn't make it any less functional.

**What problems is screenpresso solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Facilitate agile screenshots while you are working. This allows you to be more productive.

  ### 3. Simple, Lightweight, and Effortless for Daily Use

**What do you like best about screenpresso?**

Screenpresso has been one of those quiet little tools that I end up using almost every day. It’s lightweight, super easy to use, and does exactly what it promises without unnecessary complexity. Taking screenshots, adding quick annotations, or capturing short screen recordings feels effortless.

**What do you dislike about screenpresso?**

If I had to mention one downside, it’s that sometimes the video recording feature feels a bit basic compared to dedicated screen recorders, but for quick clips, it works great.

**What problems is screenpresso solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Overall, Screenpresso is one of those tools that quietly boosts productivity — simple, fast, and dependable. Once you start using it, it’s hard to imagine working without it.

  ### 4. Effortless Screenshot Capture and Annotation for Faster Communication

**Reviewed Date:** October 14, 2025

**What do you like best about screenpresso?**

I like how easy it is to capture and annotate screenshots quickly. The built-in editor and sharing options make documentation and communication much faster.

**What do you dislike about screenpresso?**

There’s not much to dislike, but sometimes the editing tools feel a bit limited compared to full graphic editors. Also, the occasional lag when capturing large scrolling windows could be improved.

**What problems is screenpresso solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Screenpresso helps me quickly capture and share screenshots or short videos for troubleshooting, documentation, and training purposes. It saves a lot of time by allowing instant annotation and sharing, which improves communication and reduces errors in technical support tasks.

  ### 5. Easy Screenshot Editing with a Simple, User-Friendly Workflow

**What do you like best about screenpresso?**

Ease of use and simple ability to edit screenshots after they've been taken.

**What do you dislike about screenpresso?**

There’s no obvious way to add extra features, like image or icon packs, for overlays.

**What problems is screenpresso solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We’ve found it to be excellent for taking screenshots and marking them up, especially when we need to explain specific features that appear on our software product’s screen.

  ### 6. A tool as light as air!!

The light weight software is a bliss, so simple integrate with our tools. Grabs literally anything and everything without giving a small glitch.

**What do you dislike about screenpresso?**

Extended screenshot option is a bit of cumbersome to use is what I felt and sometimes it fails, but very I had faced it though. Overall Its a great handy tool

  ### 7. Capture your screen

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Julia V. | Quality Compliance Manager, Pharmaceuticals, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 08, 2023

**What do you like best about screenpresso?**

Screenpresso is very useful in capturing your screen contents. Whether it's a picture, image or a document, you can easily select the areas of the screen that you want to capture and this can be saved as a file or copy/pasted to a word doc or email.

**What do you dislike about screenpresso?**

What I dislike is when you let go of the mouse, the screen image is captured, but if it's not exactly how you needed the image, you have to restart all over-close the application and capture a brand new image. It would be nice if there was a feature to just click: use image or discard, instead of closing out of the application.

**What problems is screenpresso solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps show others mt screen. For example, if I'm using a system and I need to show a colleague part of that system or what I'm seeing VS what they see in the same system (sometimes what I see is different than what they see). Also it helps with training colleagues.

  ### 8. Easy to use but powerful

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 29, 2023

**What do you like best about screenpresso?**

ScreenPresso's screen capture is easy-to-use but powerful. I like its design to put an auto-hide bar at the top of the monitor that I use to capture screenshots with only clicks.
Catching the last region is also helpful when comparing the same area across slightly different images. Finally, limiting the resolution is an excellent feature used on high-resolution screens; it effectively reduces the file size of the screenshot so that it is more e-mail friendly.

**What do you dislike about screenpresso?**

The free-hand tool is less responsive than expected when editing the screenshot with an iPad/Surface pen. More often than not, the ink/line won't start there after a short delay when I already expected one/two handwriting letters to appear on the screen.

**What problems is screenpresso solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Capturing screenshots easily. It's more powerful than the built-in Windows snipping tool. I've also used free tools like Share-X, which I think ScreenPresso is better in actual using experience.

  ### 9. Go-To software for marking up screenshots

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adam J. | Business Solutions Manager, Building Materials, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 17, 2023

**What do you like best about screenpresso?**

Screenpresso is my go-to for anytime I need to mark up a screenshot. The controls are intuitive and flexible and the UI just makes sense. The file management is also a nice touch - unlike any software I've used. It's a great, all-around tool.

**What do you dislike about screenpresso?**

Their licensing model is a bit odd and update prompts can be annoying. But easy to look past based on the functionality of the software! No real concerns with the product itself.

**What problems is screenpresso solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In a support role, I am often documenting software based workflows or needing to explain something clearly over email or chat. Screenpresso is a lifesaver - simple and quick to clearly capture & mark up programs and screens for clear communication.

  ### 11. Amazing tool for capturing screenshots and screen recording

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sanket O. | Software Engineer, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2023

**What do you like best about screenpresso?**

The screenshot is an amazing tool or utility that allows you to capture the screenshot or record the screen, allows to edit them, export them and manage them. It also provides support to edit the images which were not taken or captured via screenpresso. It provides all the basic features required to edit an image and also some basic video editing features.
Files can be exported in multiple format
The configuration/settings of the screenpresso can also be imported/exported from/to other devices

**What do you dislike about screenpresso?**

The editing window of the screenpresso minimizes automatically, might be some kind of bug. Lags while taking the very first screenshot or screen recording after launching the application.

**What problems is screenpresso solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A utility was required which could capture the screenshots and screen recording by pressing a single button and the same utility should also be able to perform some basic editing on the captured images or videos, and also manages them.

having my screenshots which can be done "entire" or "region" then imeediately going into the editor for annotation is huge time saver.
Still and Video motion both work great.

It is my defacto Screen Capture. Look no further!

The good sides are many, it can auto generate PDF and Word files by selecting a group of images. Manage your capture history by workspaces. You can use Google Drive to upload files and edit them online, Optical Character Recognition Software is very useful.

**What do you dislike about screenpresso?**

Just click on prt sc button, and it will capture the entire screen, or else we can crop at the time of capture. As a software QA, I will suggest this tool

I like that it is easy to install and operate. After you take a screen, a new window appears with many options. You can crop and edit the image, add text, numbering, highlight specific areas of the image and even blur a region.

**What do you dislike about screenpresso?**

There is nothing really to dislike. It does what it is supposed to do. The only minor disadvantage (if I can call it that) is that if a new update is available, it does not let you use the software unless you have updated to the latest version.

**Recommendations to others considering screenpresso:**

Screenpresso is a very user-friendly screen capture tool that would cover most of your needs. I have recommended the software to all my teammates.

**What problems is screenpresso solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before Screenpresso, I was using Paint on Windows, and I had to do a few more steps to get my screenshot. In that aspect, it saves me time. I also use Screepresso for video capturing too to make short training videos for my team.

  ### 20. A good free tool for taking screenshots

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 24, 2021

**What do you like best about screenpresso?**

It's a very good app for taking screenshots.

I like the tools for postprocessing screenshots:
- Tools that draw arrows and borders. A nice choice of simple shapes. Nothing too fancy (yeah, simplicity is a benefit!).
- The tool that cuts a part of a picture. It's handy for removing blank areas from screehnshots.

The free version includes everything that I need (and it gives the permission to use the resulting screenshots in commercial products).

**What do you dislike about screenpresso?**

Screenpresso doesn't offer a way to correct individual pixels. I do it a lot when I take screenshots for my guides. Sometimes I copy/paste letters to combine them into a fake user name. Sometimes I remove button backgrounds by changing the color of pixels around them. I have to switch to Microfost Paint for this. Screenpresso alone doesn't cover all my needs but a combo of Screenpresso and Paint does.

**What problems is screenpresso solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I take screenshots for user guides. Screenpresso helps a lot because I can take screenshots quickly, and then add some drawings (arrows, etc.) with just a few clicks.

  ### 21. Sreenpresso - A real print screen solution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sathish J. | Project Component Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 02, 2021

**What do you like best about screenpresso?**

There is a lot that you can do with screnpresso,
For Ex.
1. you can define your print screen region,
2. If you don't want to define, the screenpresso will intelligently change the screen region to the defined dialog box.
3. There is an option to record the video with audio and you can convert them to Mp4 for whatever reason you may need.
4. There is also "Optical Character Recognition" feature, which is very handy. this helps to read any text from the image it grabs.
Overall a very user friendly tool.

**What do you dislike about screenpresso?**

1. The Video recording file is too huge - I wish there were an option to compress them in screenpresso to share them easily.
2. The picture editing window should have more editing options - like edit background, change color, etc, much like a photo editing software.
3. I wish there ware an option to compare images used screenpresso without depending on third-party software.

**What problems is screenpresso solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1. I create Technical customer documents which contain images that I use from screen presso to update.
2. Screen presso helps in day-to-day business communication where it's easy to explain the content of the desktop using screenpresso.

**What do you like best about screenpresso?**

Very easy to use, directly integrated with the print screen button, the image editor has all the useful options to create and annotate the captured image, I also like the auto-selection of the valid windows for capturing. Also for custom capture, it shows the magnifier at the corners for smooth and perfect adjustment. Also, it provides a delayed capture option which could be very useful in certain places. Also, there is the history of captures easily available for searching in the quick menu options.

**What do you dislike about screenpresso?**

The Video recording feature is not the best, I mostly use ScreenPresso for image capture.
The screen capture with auto-scroll is a little bit tricky to use, needs some time to get used to it.

**What problems is screenpresso solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Screenpresso for making How to documents for my tools and also mainly use it for snipping or capturing the screen with custom areas. The image editor has a lot of options, some of the most used features are the image resize option, custom overlay of comments or steps with numbers and arrows to indicate a sequential operation, and many more.

  ### 27. Using Screenspresso as an IT application support engineer.

Very accurate and fast possibility of taking screenshots/videos & annotating on them using markup tools. Screenpresso allows posting screenshots & videos online.

**What do you dislike about screenpresso?**

Using the app requires doing many updates (a couple of times a month). There are just few screenshots saved in history (inside the app). Rest is stored and accessible in your local drive.

**Recommendations to others considering screenpresso:**

If you're looking for a simple tool which includes many options then I recommend using Screenpresso.

**What problems is screenpresso solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can quickly take a screenshot, place a markup & post the file anywhere I need.

  ### 28. Simple screenshot software

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Venk K. | Software Developer, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 26, 2019

**What do you like best about screenpresso?**

Screenpresso is a great tool for taking screenshots. It comes with a free version that's available for anyone who doesn't want to pay. Installation process is very easy and it doesn't take up a lot HDD space. Using screenpresso to take screenshots is also completely effortless even for beginners.

**What do you dislike about screenpresso?**

I dislike the UI first and foremost. It doesn't look visually appealing in the slightest and could use a lot of work in that area. Although at its core screenpresso is good for taking screenshots, for additional features you're required to pay a hefty amount. A lot of these features that come in Pro and Enterprise versions are also available for free in other applications that can do the same task as screenpresso.

**Recommendations to others considering screenpresso:**

If a simple screenshot software is all that you require, screenpresso should satisfy you. The basic image editing tool will be more than enough for your needs. But for anything more such as video recording, sharing, better image editor, you'll need to pay for the pro version. I personally don't think this is worth the purchase as there are free applications available that can carry out screenpresso pro's functions for you.

**What problems is screenpresso solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use screenpresso to take screenshots of pages and texts that I want to save for later or to share with coworkers. It also has an imaging editing tool, albeit limited.

The best thing about this software is its ability to take screenshots and you can also record everything in video. You have the possibility to capture what happens from an android phone. It is ideal for recording presentations or creating online classes.

The video options are somewhat limited but they are minor contras as the software is very light in terms of RAM consumption.

**Recommendations to others considering screenpresso:**

Screenpresso is very easy to use and I think it is your best virtue. In a matter of minutes I was able to completely master this software and the menus are very well distributed with the most useful functions. You can edit screen captures before being saved to disk. Highly recommended.

In my work we use it mainly to record training videotutorials for our staff. The software has performed very well since it is very light.

  ### 32. A very interesting and useful tool!!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Luis Eduardo M. | Consultor de Proyectos en Telecomunicaciones, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 25, 2019

**What do you like best about screenpresso?**

If only this application in its free version is interesting given the functions it offers, imagine what we could do with the paid or licensed version. I was evaluating the free version and it allowed me to capture full screen, capture a portion of the screen, like windows of programs and parts of texts and images, capture scrolling windows, to name a few. Additionally, it allows me to document a screenshot including arrows, text like a colorful speech bubbles and text boxes, rectangles, ellipses, spotlight an area, etc. I can share the captures through applications like Email Client like Gmail, Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive, among others. The application stores all the screenshots in a widget-like panel that is displayed in the lower right part of the monitor screen. Regarding capture your screen in videos, the free application includes branding among other limitations. Additionally, you can add several screenshots in a document in Word, PDF, Gif and HTML with branding. Finally, the application is lightweight in MBs (12.1 Megabytes), and easy to download and install.

**What do you dislike about screenpresso?**

I do not have negative observations of the application. I saw many advantages in the installed free version. However, its paid version is a little bit expensive.

**Recommendations to others considering screenpresso:**

I recommend using this tool because it is simple to install and manipulate. It is easy to understand from scratch. Its free version offers several useful options to apply in the office or home.

**What problems is screenpresso solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is a useful tool in daily work and to support the construction of reports whether academic, personal or work. Now only using the free application, you can take advantage of the options of editing screenshots or parts of them, and even store them in a separate folder and then use them in later projects or reports.

  ### 33. A serious Snagit competitor

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Snehal M. | Support & Training Head, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 25, 2019

**What do you like best about screenpresso?**

Where do I start from?
I was searching for a no nonsense screen capture application for my personal use and came across Screenpresso (I must tell you that in those days Google did not list it on first page!!!). Since then, I've been using Screenpresso consistently for several years as my go to app for screenshots. In fact, its one of my recommended apps to my friends and colleagues.

**What do you dislike about screenpresso?**

The UI can use some face lift but thats something can be lived without. Lately, I have seen some features which were originally available in free model restricted for Pro model. This can turn away few heads, but nothing show stopper.

**Recommendations to others considering screenpresso:**

Should absolute go for it. Screenpresso is a great application with image-editing tools that can be compared to Snagit & also great for capturing what's happening on your computer.

**What problems is screenpresso solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I take frequent screenshots and recordings to demonstrate my software and its features and answer questions.
Screenpresso helps me get the information across much more quickly and completely. Saves me from the pain of writing long descriptive emails.

**What do you dislike about screenpresso?**

- Currently there's no way to do rich text in the editor;
- The interface stands out as a non-Windows app;
- The screenshots is not clear where white lines appear in between.

**Recommendations to others considering screenpresso:**

This is a excelent software, we can use for any things.

**What problems is screenpresso solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For business email, for blogging, for newsletter, for presentation... we can use it for many purpose

  ### 35. Review of Screenpresso

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 25, 2019

**What do you like best about screenpresso?**

The software comes in a free version AND a paid one. The free one still lets you get screen capture so that is an ideal way to start before you want to work your way up to the paid version.

**What do you dislike about screenpresso?**

Some people have said that the video quality is not up to par. About half of my office has agreed with this.

**What problems is screenpresso solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For starters the PDF user manual was easy to follow along, and Screenpresso's hot keys and system tray menu make it as easy to use.

  ### 36. An amazing screen capture and Design Tool

Its highly easy to install and use. You need absolutely no knowledge in design to use this tool

**What do you dislike about screenpresso?**

The process for taking screenshot on long screen its a bit not straight forward

**Recommendations to others considering screenpresso:**

  ### 37. Simple and full featured

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paul W. | Video and Digital Media Technologist, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 20, 2018

**What do you like best about screenpresso?**

Keyboard shortcuts - to take a screenshot or record a video you don't have to navigate to the program, just a few clicks and your content is captured. I also like that it does video recordings within the same app, and I don't need one tool for screenshots and another for videos.

**What do you dislike about screenpresso?**

The interface feels a little cheap and stands out as a non-Windows app, it would be nice for it to fit in more with the OS design. It has a real freeware vibe to the design. I do wish it would record straight to mp4 - the process to save a screen recording can take a long time on a slower machine and really feels drawn out when you're trying to provide a quick answer.

**Recommendations to others considering screenpresso:**

Consider the paid version if you keep items long term - if you capture, paste and delete the free may be good enough

**What problems is screenpresso solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I take frequent screenshots and recordings to demonstrate processes and answer questions, Screenpresso saves me from writing long and details instructions and helps me get the information across much more quickly and completely.

  ### 38. Great took for captures

**What do you like best about screenpresso?**

Simplicity, functionalities and special PIP effect (picture in picture). You can recording using your phone connected to your computer via plugin.
The customer support is amazing. I feel like any company should be evaluated based on the customer support they can provide post-implementation. I think Screespresso have nailed this art of customer satisfaction.

**What do you dislike about screenpresso?**

The picture editing is very basic and export should have more available formats. The editing functionality should be more in par with other software like snagit and cloudapp.

**What problems is screenpresso solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Screen sharing. troubleshooting with customers (utilized by support) and training

  ### 39. Nice tool for screenshots and videos

I don't miss anything in the product for the use I have of it.

The free option is very complete. I have not needed the commercial one till now.

**What do you like best about screenpresso?**

I completely love Screenpresso. Love how you can blur out regions, add cool icon that read click here, right click here, double click here, and you are able to record your screen. Just love the product.

**What do you dislike about screenpresso?**

The only and I mean the only thing I do not like about it is that when you video record your screen no audio is included. I would like to somehow be able to add audio.

**Recommendations to others considering screenpresso:**

Best Screenshot software.

**What problems is screenpresso solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use screenpresso to record users displaying issues on their computer. Then I am able to go back and replicate the steps on my end.

  ### 42. A solid Snagit alternative

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nate H. | Advisory Architect, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 04, 2018

**What do you like best about screenpresso?**

I've been using Screenpresso consistently for several years as my go to app for screenshots.

Started with the free version, but quickly moved to pro to gain the ability to re-edit images.

The capture experience is straight forward. I particularly like the magnifier (shows pixel level detail where the mouse pointer is) and the scrolling capture.

I also like it's ability to OCR a screenshot. That's come in handy more than a few times.

The editor is easy to use and has a good palette of objects that can be placed on the screenshot (text, highlights, arrows, bendable arrows, bubbles, boxes, blurs etc.).

It uses a concept of "workspaces" so that images can be automatically organized into different folders based on which workspace is active. This is handy when working on documentation for simultaneous projects.

It can auto generate PDF, Word or HTML files by selecting a group of images. Very convenient for writing documentation.

Screenpresso integrates with many online sharing platforms including dropbox, google drive, youtube, imgur, evernote, etc.

It can also do screen recording, but I tend to use it mostly for screenshot work.

The development team is responsive and active. I've seen new features get steadily added over time and have even sent in a few UI suggestions that have made into the product.

**What do you dislike about screenpresso?**

Currently there's no way to do rich text in the editor (bullets, etc.).

**Recommendations to others considering screenpresso:**

Give the free version a shot first.

**What problems is screenpresso solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Producing good software documentation is much easier with a good screenshot tool like Screenpresso.

  ### 43. Awesome screenshot tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 20, 2018

**What do you like best about screenpresso?**

It's ease of use and it's markup tools. The ability to screenshot a scrolling page has been incredibly helpful.

**What do you dislike about screenpresso?**

The interface is a little drab and dated.

**Recommendations to others considering screenpresso:**

Pay for the license instead of the free version, it's worth it.

**What problems is screenpresso solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use it almost daily to take screenshots for troubleshooting, to write up tech manuals, etc.
