Everything is easy. Setup and configuration is a breeze, and once you are collecting data the dashboards make it dead simple to identify opportunities for optimization and to be alerted if one of your applications (or a particular part of it) is misbehaving. Tracing with AutoInstrument and custom contexts makes understanding usage patterns and how they affect overall performance. Left New Relic for Scout 5 years ago and have never looked back. I'd like to be able to access data older than 30 days in the UI. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The way analytics are handled, design and productivity wise is key, and scout handles them superbly, the tooling is lightweight and almost presents no impact on our infrastructure Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Billing could be more granular, because the jumps on pricing are double or more, and sometimes you don't need the full double just a little more, so that makes it hard to upgrade when your application is demanding the jump.
Also the receipts are kept separately, so it looks off on the platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Installation is really simple and they support a variety of languages. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
While scout is able to break out some things from a generic HTTP connection there are a few things still missing. For example Scout is able to determine what is Elasticsearch HTTP connections, but it cannot determine what is Cassandra HTTP connections and break that latency out. Granted this is more of a nice to have than a hard requirement. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Filters that help to tune your data to learn more
Graphs are a nice way to represent the performance
You can have the data from multiple sources as multiple application
Each application can have a different node pushing the data inwards
The UI design in the scout is awsome Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Only limited data will be populated if the user has not upgraded the plan. Other all features are good. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Setup was easy. We spent some time limiting sample size to cut down on the cost but other than that it was straightforward. We get a good high-level view of our performance and the ability to dig in for a closer look. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have no particular dislikes. I'm adding characters because the UI on this survey is annoying. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Most APMs nominally support Rails. Not Scout.
The autoinstrumentation showing exactly, line-by-line where slowdown is happening is second-to-none. The N+1 detection is amazing. Showing me exactly where we're punishing our DB, both on web & async workers, makes my life (and the lives of our operations team) much easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The cost makes it difficult to justify to people who believe "we have NewRelic, and one APM is good enough". Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What really got my attention about Scout is the user experience compared to other APM's. The user interface is really user-friendly and intuitive so I didn't have to spend time looking at documentation other than clicking around and finding the information that I was looking for. The dashboard shows right away critical information for my work such as request latency, N+1's, memory bloat and slow queries. Also, the ability to compare and analyze performance in the timeline hit the sweet spot. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I miss an easier way to filter my controllers in the dashboard dropdown. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We used Scout at Callbell to monitor all our query speed and this helped us a lot to improve the speed of our service! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing to complain about :) absolutely recommended! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Scout picks out very insightful information from your server and presents it to you in a simple and actionable format. The filters provided are just right to get your job done without overwhelming you. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The entry pricing point is very good and attractive. But for high traffic applications, it could go out of your budget pretty fast. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
