What do you like best about Scoop.it?

The suggestion feature helps generate initial content ideas for our programs while showing what is currently trending on each major social network. Analytics are relatively robust for a curation service. We did like that you can segment searches by content type (article, infographics, videos, etc.) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Scoop.it?

When compared to other curation services that we've tested (Buzzsumo, Epicbeat, Feedly), Scoop.it was more difficult to manage, and the suggestions overall included less reputable sources. We were seeking a service that provided content suggestions for a social selling program, and we found better options from topic/keyword searches elsewhere. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Scoop.it:

I would seek it if you're building a small team of SMEs who can use it for direct posting to accounts. As we are a regulated organization that requires compliance at all stages, it is nearly impossible to link company accounts with a non-approved curation service. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Scoop.it solving and how is that benefiting you?

We are looking at curation services to help build thought leadership for a social selling program. We've already seen increased visibility for our internal thought leaders through consistent content sharing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Guillaume Decugis of Scoop.it

Hi - Thanks for the review. We'd love to have you try out our B2B version which has our content research engine (our freemium version having a more limited content index as you saw). It also integrates with social selling platforms. Don't hesitate to get a demo (http://business.scoop.it)

No drag and drop

I can't create a social media message if I don't have a link to a content in it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Scoop.it:

Definitely take this tool if you want to handle the full content marketing lifecycle. If you are looking for just social media management, you can find specific tools for that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Scoop.it solving and how is that benefiting you?

I had several different tools to do separate things and was spending a lot of time in each of them, and not enough content to publish on my blog.

What do you like best about Scoop.it?

New Templates and Wordpress Integration options make Scoop.it a 10! Super easy to set-up now. Great content curation and the social integration, especially with bufferapp is superb. Love the ability to directly edit the HTML of the templates to customize them to match my particular style and taste. The community is excellent and the ability to follow boards and be followed is a major plus. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Scoop.it?

They need NEGATIVE Keywords! My number one pet peeve is lack of negative keywords for search. The answer is to write very long-tail search strings, but, even these do not always do the job. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Scoop.it:

Scoop.it has excellent support, just Tweet them! However, I suggest you get involved. Join the user groups on either GooglePlus or Facebook. Follow people on Scoop.it and do not be afraid to ask questions on Twitter. I'll be happy to answer any questions you may have about my experiences at @Josepf on Twitter! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Scoop.it solving and how is that benefiting you?

Content Curation and the ability to use OPC (other people's content) effectively. I have always been a content curator and have used many different tools to save and bookmark links such as bit.ly, trunk.ly, pearltrees, and stumbleupon among others. Now? My Scoop.it boards are THE place I save important articles and I get the side benefit of socially sharing them! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Scoop.it?

SCOOP.IT is without a doubt the most-powerful and easily accessible content curation platform available. It works for businesses, institutions or individual users to help them find, curate, add value and uplift meaningful content from the "noise" on the web, and at the same time distribute across social channels seamlessly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Scoop.it?

The positives outweigh most negatives. There is a slight learning curve to getting the most out of its search-and-curate 'backend' to deliver meaningful results, and there seems to be room for improvement for implementation of customer suggestions that would benefit both users and SCOOP.IT. I do not currently used a paid version of SCOOP.IT, as features and functionality versus my current usage don't make it a viable investment...I wish they would re-think their pricing structure to make SCOOP.IT more accessible to smaller entrepreneurs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Scoop.it:

Reach out to the growing community of SCOOP.IT Users....often called "Scoopiteers;" If you search those phrases online you can find easy-access to much of the hard-learned and readily shared lessons from this devoted and friendly community of curation pros! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Scoop.it solving and how is that benefiting you?

I've singlehandedly built a niche curation "news" and marketing platform around just two SCOOP.IT topics and the out-feeds to Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr, with the options to add more social channels as SCOOP.IT developers continue to expand them. More than 350-thousand views on SCOOP.IT alone, multiplied by the "Likes and Shares" in social channels in just over 22 months shows that it can work wonders for anyone's reputation-building, and elevate your authority-in-brand/niche. You get out what you put in; something you can not say about many other marketing or curations platforms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
