It's visualisation toolkit and performance standards. Also the experience scilab has given in terms of ease of running code blocks as modules rather than full flow single execution is a boon for the user at hand. This personally helped in gaining quick insights into various math models that involve complex visualisations and computations. This boasted confidence in me and helped many of my friends as well. The very first thing I like about Scilab is that it is Open Source. Freely available to everyone, consuming less space. When I started using it in 2013, so less people knew about it. It is mostly like MATLAB. You can just use the separate terminal to do mathematical analysis and finally write the code just like Python. Easy to do plotting and easy to analyze the issue present in the code. When I did the internship, it was easy for me to adapt the Scilab and work on it, though I was totally new to it and coding. Sometimes, it hangs! It doesn't have the functionalities like Original MATLAB, but at the same time, it is not easy to have all the functionalities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
