Top Rated Scilab Alternatives

1. First and foremost feature is it's free of cost so anyone can take benefit of it!
2. One can solve and analyze complex problems in electrical engineering.
3. Users can able to understand graphical behavior under different circumstances. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
As it is free & open-source and free software so one should not complain about it but I would like to give a few suggestions:
1. User interface could become more attractive.
2. More functions should be introduced.
3. Sometimes it takes time to fully load software but this might be a problem only with my pc it may vary pc to pc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

First of all, it is free and open source. User can solve different mathematical, engineering, statistical and scientific problems with an ease. Graph plotting and simulation of complex equations are there to visualize and analyse the nature of problem. It is cross platform very easy to implement. Overall a very good tool for students and researchers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The community is small and help is not available always. Sometimes it consumes too much memory and slow down the system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Scilab is freely available and can be used by anyone for any purpose. Scilab provides various numerical analysis tools, including matrix computations, signal processing, optimisation, and statistics, making it an excellent choice for scientific and engineering applications. Scilab can be easily extended with user-defined functions and modules, allowing users to customise it for their specific needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
While an active user community provides support, tutorials, and code examples, commercial permission for Scilab may be limited compared to commercial software packages. Scilab is cross-platform; compatibility issues may exist with specific hardware or software configurations. Some features may also not be fully supported on particular platforms. Scilab provides a helpful framework and design to learn how to program and use it in simple computational and numerical algorithms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Scilab is limited in its objects. Given that it is free software, help and documentation may be lacking. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It's open-source, yet so powerful and got large community support online, it's easy to find answers to your problem. Anyone can install it, unlike MATLAB which is paid. Its programming is similar to MATLAB making it easy to switch to open source. Even its size is a lot smaller than MATLAB, so if you use MATLAB for computational purposes (no Simulink) we can switch to it and do a lot of great stuff. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Its interface is too bland although I don't dislike it now, in starting it just makes things boring, its color and everything is just so simple. It doesn't have autocomplete feature, which is quite helpful when you start learning something new. They can also add new themes to colorize the editor, which is also missing currently. I like how I can plot vadious complex functions and solve big mathematical equations by writing a few lines of code. Scilab provides high-quality features and methods to plot graphs in various different ways in a single open-source software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
When using graphic windows, everytime I run the program, I have to click on the graphic window tab again and again in order to open it, which is quite tiresome and time-consuming. It would be better if all the windows associated with a single program displayed on their own upon execution. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Scilab is a very good software that is an open-source freely available and user-friendly interface and by use of this software, I do solve different types of equations and data analysis and scientific computation. It is most widely used for alternative of Matlab for low level computation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
As per observation, sometimes it gives errors and the interface is less attractive and it provides the fewer option compare to Simulink Software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I use 1st time Scilab in my under graduation, when we pursue graduation in physics we have encounter a lots of differential equations (likes Harmonics oscillator , Forced Oscillator, wave equations) without plotting graph of these we can never understand what is going on the system, how the system behaves with time. The best thing about the Scilab it is provide X-Cos simulations features here we can provides various input to the block and see the how the function behaves. when we define some functions sometimes show error, I think scilab help sections not very proper but you can take help by community. Scilab help section should be better and easily understandable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Scilab is best for the one who wants to use open source application for the data analysis and scientific computation. It is much famous for the low level computation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
User interface of the application is not much attractive or say smooth enough for techies. As it is open source application there is no security of your data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
