Using this system is much more secure than our past dismissal procedures. It helps ensure students only go home with an authorized driver and lets us know the moment their car enters campus. It also allows parents to make changes during the day to their family's dismissal plan, which saves the school from going through that process. We also know what cars come onto campus, adding a level of security. We also used it this use to conduct wellness checks for everyone before coming onto campus. It took a long time for everyone to get used to the system. If a relative picks up a student on a particular day, the system doesn't work unless the parents think to put the car plates into Schoolpass ahead of time. We had issues where the power went out and impacted our cameras, and overall it just took a while to get buy-in from the families and our staff who work dismissal.
