What do you like best about Sapling?

What do you like best about Sapling?

Very nice workflow for onboarding members to follow. The steps were clear, with minimal points of frustration and confusion. The timeline of the company's history was a useful, pleasant feature to include. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sapling?

I would appreciate a slightly different onboarding experience as an intern for the company this summer. I am very keen on getting to know the incoming class of interns, but aside from a single screen showing the names of the people joining for the summer (which disappeared after pressing "next"), I was unable to identify who among the sprawling list of teammates were fellow interns. I also think the profile section when visiting other users can be improved so that people can press a button to visit a LinkedIn or Twitter page as opposed to having to copy/paste their links. The fact that these profile sections are greyed out (which seems to suggest nothing more than the fact that I don't have permission to edit them) was another visual component that I did not particularly like. Lastly, the intercom chat box takes up a significant amount of space when clicked, and it does not disappear when you click out of it. While its UI is nice, that did not stop me from feeling frustrated overall (this was the one component that annoyed me). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Our product team loved your insights on differentiating the intern experience – I went ahead and added that insight to our feedback portal where you can track its progress using the link attached to this response :). We’re actually currently in the process of re-imagining this “pre-boarding” experience, so this was a remarkably timely insight.

As for the Intercom chatbox – we are also in the process of moving from Intercom → Zendesk as our main support tool, so hopefully that issue will be resolved with that shift as well!

What do you like best about Sapling?

Sapling creates a great pre-boarding experience for our new hires. We love how simple it is for all employees to interact with - there isn't a learning curve at all. The admin capabilities are just okay. The reporting is average, but nothing special. We frequently have to do a lot of manipulation to reports to get what we need. What do you like best about Sapling?

The onboarding experience for employees is Sapling’s strongest offering. New hires get a glimpse of the team, the company, the culture from the inside before their start date. Automated communication is good. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sapling?

We’ve used Sapling for a few years, and it was fine while we were small, but we’ve more than doubled, and the platform is just not growing with us. The behind-the-scenes is fine for smaller teams (<100) but is not a scalable solution in terms of data. We’ve had issues with data reverting, change history issues, and we can't bulk upload data without our CSM. The data upload experience that could help Sapling scale with its growing customer base was problematic, so they removed access to it from employers, and now we need to go through our CSM to get those uploads complete (and we have so many changes that the data uploads aren't keeping up with us). There aren’t good auditing capabilities. There are very few integrations with other tools we use. They are so focused on trying to catch up on the bug backlog that they haven’t rolled out impactful new features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I liked the easy-to-use interface. I feel the interface is well designed. The components are well placed. I can directly go to my company's important link, it makes the application more usable. I can directly visit company blogs while keeping track of TO-DO tasks/ activities. The platform is very user friendly. It is simple to create tasks, follow up with late employee documents, and it keeps our onboarding and off boarding process running fairly smoothly. When searching for names, it's a bit laggy (I need to type twice).

For the workflow (task) report, we couldn't personalize the details of the workflow report (location, department).

What do you like best about Sapling?

I do enjoy the fact that most user that come onto Sapling, become well aware of their tasks needed to be done. Being in a team that requires to be in contact with other teams, this helps even out the tasks required. The email notification does help as well. It does give a better overall experience in terms of coming into our organization. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sapling?

I feel as if integration can be better thought out. Tasking seem to be somewhat generic in terms on how they are implemented. Automation could be better. Instead of assigning email to user, instead have them already be categorized in a way that once a user is onboarded in that title/role, everything else is automated.
