With the vast amount of user functions and capabilities, the screens can get overwhelming. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The potential exists for very high performance - for a price. The product is extremely flexible. The upgrade from version 7.5 to version 10 was like night and day. The product appears to be under active development. Comparable to Oracle Hyperion Planning, but integrates very thoroughly with SAP Business Warehouse and makes exceptional use of HANA. If you are already using SAP products, this is a slam dunk. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
EXPENSIVE!!! And they push HANA down your throat. If you aren't using the full SAP ecosystem, the support is lacking. We purchased the product before SAP bought it and are still running it, but since we aren't running all the other SAP products, we don't get the support that we might want for what we are paying. Finally the technology is old-school compared with online products such as Tidemark or Adaptive Planning. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The best part about SAP EPM is the potential for reports users should be able to run from the system. Once the data is entered into the system, the reports have the potential to be manipulated in a variety of ways to best suit the user. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
From my experience, the biggest downside of this application is how data needs to be entered. I feel that the process is a largely manual one, and that the system overall lacks the ability of automation (at least at the onset of using the system). I also have run into a number of issues with the functionality of the system (i.e. when entering percentages, the percent signs will not appear as they are supposed to.) Ease of use. I frequently pulled historical financial data and it was incredibly efficient and quick. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Creating reports via EPM and modifying. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The thing I like best about SAP EPM is that it makes pulling historical financial data very easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I dislike the fact that it is difficult (for me) to create reports via EPM. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

SAP is a great system we use for ticketing.
If there ever is something that needs to be updated within these systems, the support teams are always quick and pleasant in correcting any information. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Inputting some information requires you to go outside of the ticket. It would be beneficial to incorporate everything inside one page. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The interface and terminology is vastly different from our legacy systems, so it has taken a large effort to adopt the system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
