Sanity was a breath of fresh air and aligned perfectly with our product delivery expectations. Through Sanity, blank canvas it is intuitive to create concise data artictectues that avoid all the pitfalls such complexity can create. Client training has almost become an after thought if needed at all with customisable validation and custom components allowing for specific interfaces suitable for the use case. Recent additions such as Sanity Live have been a god send in avoiding the old it's Cached client experience. With Sanitys almost limitless potential and application flexibility I see this continuing to be our Goto for years to come. Also pricing is very reasonable, there is an active community, clear documentation and lots of new innovations and refinements being added all the time. **What do you dislike about Sanity?** Not much Better native media library and file management. **Recommendations to others considering Sanity:** Just give it a try and you will see why it is a fantasitc solution. **What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?** Concise content modeling and management. However, Sanity now supports multiple languages for the UI, except for the field titles. The pricing plans, support, new feature development, and platform administration are first-class. **What do you dislike about Sanity?** Sanity may be overkill for some use cases, and there is a bit of a learning curve for customizing and utilizing basic things like the rich text editor or image pipeline—but in the end, that pays off in flexibility and performance. **What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?** We were heavily restricted by a traditional, static CMS that was tightly coupled to the website platform. Sanity gave us the flexibility to deploy a headless CMS in parallel, and we can even make pure front-end queries where needed to simplify the transition. The customizable CMS that comes with Sanity is fantastic. It is open source and can be modified to suit our needs nicely. The features within Sanity such as the CDN, asset management, plugins make it so nice to customize everything for our clients. The Sanity team is constantly adding new features and upgrades. They do an incredible job adding more and more value to their product. They listen to their customers and respond to any issues quickly. With the community support along with Sanity's team you can always find help as well as code snippets or plugins for almost anything you need to do. **What do you dislike about Sanity?** So far, I haven't run into anything that I haven't been able to accomplish. **What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?** A CMS system that is engineer-friendly to build schemas and a CMS that editors like to use. We wanted to be able to store structured data without having to build our own system that we would have to host and maintain. We have multiple clients/projects that use Sanity, so having 1 set of schemas that can be shared across all projects has been a life savor. ### 5. When something can break our build pipeline this has a big impact. Not having daily backups is a huge negative for us. Right now I run a separate cron job running to do this each night. **What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?** With Sanity we can get all of the speed we need to built static and live content. We are more productive than maintaining our own Firebase backend, because we don't have to worry about bugs in our admin interface. ### 6. Sanity makes very little assumptions about the type of content you need to create, and allows for easy creation of content types and interface structure. The onboarding by the Sanity team was very well done too. A number of sessions were organised to showcase several features of the editing experience for both content editors as well as developers. This made for a smooth integration into our application landscape. Our content editors are now using it on a daily basis much to their liking, and we will enjoy working with Sanity in the future as well. **What do you dislike about Sanity?** Since Sanity doesn't make any assumptions about the content or data in the system, you have to think about a number of cases yourself. I like to use groq. It is a simple and easy-to-understand query language. A lot of data can be retrieved with a query without the need for post-processing. I often write migrations for content. I like the new migrations interface, it's simple. Everything works very quickly. Sometimes I write a query and think about how long it's going to be because I'm transferring my experience with relational databases. But no, the queries are fast, although the amount of data that is returned in the response can be very large. Working with the studio is also a joy. You create document models, and the user interface structure, and you're all set. I've heard that Sanity has good tech support, but I've always had enough documentation to solve problems. Working with Sanity is my secondary responsibility. Despite this, the tools the company provides are simple and powerful, my decisions don't suffer for my lack of expertise in the field. **What do you dislike about Sanity?** It's hard to find something that annoys me as a developer. Once I had to use the studio @internal hook to make the interface reactive ( make a calculated field, basically), even though it seemed to be quite a common functionality. One update broke my custom component once (I was counting on the onChange prop being stable since it's a function). It's all small things. Can be quickly set up to handle simpler use cases, but also very customizable to handle specific scenarios. The studio can be configured to organize the content even when there are a lot of different document types and it is also possible to customize the entire form, or individual inputs, to handle special cases with validation or other massaging of user input. **What do you dislike about Sanity?** Without enterprise support it might seem hard to get non-community based support. Some feature directions are more focused towards integrating fetching sanity data per specific page/feature to your app (which is probably fine in "smaller" situations). **What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use sanity as the CMS for most of the content on our sites. As a developer who's managing the CMS stack as well as designing the content structure, I love how Sanity simplifies its setup and configuration so developers can focus on designing the actual content itself. They offer lots of features out of the box that users would come to expect from a CMS platform, while keeping things simple for the most basic implementations. With Sanity you can get a CMS platform setup in 5 minutes and then spend months making it more robust. **What do you dislike about Sanity?** The custom input component patterns that Sanity offers for field customazation can sometimes be a little confusing and hard to implement. I think that's more of an effect from the language the CMS is written in vs anything Sanity themselves can really adjust, but it's been a pain point for our team. Referencing field values from other linked documents for validation or pre-population purposes can be a challenge as well. **What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?** Sanity is solving the issue of us having to build an entire CMS system in order to serve dynamic content out to our applications. If we were not using Sanity, we would have to internally build a platform to edit, host, and distribute content that non developers need editing rights to. ### 49.
