"Reliable Market Data for Modern Compensation Strategy"
What do you like best about Salary.com?

What I like best about Salary.com is the depth and reliability of its compensation data. The platform provides strong market benchmarking tools that allow us to evaluate roles with confidence and align pay practices to current market conditions. The ability to filter by geography, company size, and industry is especially valuable for ensuring equitable and competitive salary decisions Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Salary.com?

The primary challenge is the complexity of job matching and navigation. While the depth of data is strong, identifying the correct benchmark role can require significant interpretation and manual adjustment. A more streamlined workflow and clearer job architecture alignment tools would enhance usability. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Reliable Compensation Benchmarking with Helpful Parameters and Job Description Insights"
What do you like best about Salary.com?

I have tried many compensation benchmark websites earlier, and I mostly use the free version to help me understand my team's pay level compared to the market trend. I do this to ensure that we pay fairly. I am also someone, who is not looking for exact numbers but a rough picture and salary.com has been a very reliable guide for this search always.

I only use their website (not sure if they have an app, never tried). There are various parameters that I can check, including the salary and salary plus benefits. If you are smart enough, you can create the entire salary master structure from their data. I have refined few JDs using their Job description part (Directly took some sentences and copied them). I am also particularly fond of the factor section which below at each designation as it brings me the closest to my search.

And its funny, but I also end up at the job opening section for my role (even though I just come here to check salary for the roles I am hiring for) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Salary.com?

The biggest challenge I have with this website is the amount of ad. They are very loud and annoying and due to this probably, it takes a lot of time for the website to load fully. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Useless"
What do you like best about Salary.com?

I do like the ability to look up salary ranges for different job and to help create job descriptions- simple jobs were there like AP Clerk or CFO- allot of finance related information and even customer service - what I would call the basic information. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Salary.com?

We work in such a unique industry- it is extremely hard to find jobs and pay that fit most of circumstances of our positions.

Then there is the COST- so outrageously high and long contracts with no early out. Simply robbing us- when we wanted out. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Alex Bell of Salary.com

Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that Salary.com wasn’t the right fit for your organization. We appreciate you sharing your experience and have passed your comments along internally.

"A Decade of Excellence with CompAnalyst"
What do you like best about Salary.com?

Ease of use, quick implementation, amazing customer support, the best data integrity. I'm in CompAnalyst all the time. I cringe if I have to do things the "old school" way. The other comp solutions I've looked at are not at the caliber that Salary.com's tools. They are not free or cheap, but they are the best over all value. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Salary.com?

Nothing. They are great. I am a repeat customer. I've been using CompAnalyst for probably 10 years now. I've used this tool at multiple employers. I've recommended it to friends and colleagues. And now as a consultant, I recommend it to my clients. They really are the best overall value. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Alex Bell of Salary.com

Thank you so much for your 5-star review, Lisa! It means a lot coming from such a long-time user of CompAnalyst! We’re thrilled to hear that you find our data reliable and our platform intuitive.

"Essential for Compensation Insights and Equity"
What do you like best about Salary.com?

I like the reports on Salary.com. Once I've benchmarked a job, I appreciate getting a detailed report that I can share with leaders during compensation discussions, which is my favorite part of the product. These reports are invaluable as they show industry scopes and detailed job descriptions of roles, covering all compensable factors. I use these reports with my talent acquisition team when making offers and with hiring managers when planning new jobs or roles. The insights they provide concerning salary perspective are very valuable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Salary.com?

I would say the AI component of it is a bit lacking. I love the fact that there is the AI capability, which is great for looking at unique roles, but using the AI part means you don't get those customized detailed reports. It would be nice if while using AI to benchmark those unique roles, we could also get a detailed report of the findings. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Flexible Global Benchmarking, Easy UX"
What do you like best about Salary.com?

I like Salary.com's global reach, including regions like South Africa. Its user experience is very easy, and I appreciate how flexible it is, allowing for different scopes and levels. It's competitive with bigger names and allows benchmarking in local currency with various levels like non-exempt, professional, and managerial. It gives total compensation information and lets me adjust premiums easily. The initial setup was straightforward. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Salary.com?

I think if you could add multiple jobs that you're working on to do multiple composites especially if they're all in the same job family. It would go faster but this also could be a user training that I need. Other than the one I just mentioned the ability to pull market data for multiple job codes at a time. "Quick, Easy Access to Reliable, Up-to-Date Compensation Data"
What do you like best about Salary.com?

Salary.com is a quick and easy tool to use, and it makes accessing reliable compensation data very convenient. I like having up-to-date salary information right at my fingertips, which helps support informed decisions and efficient workflows. The platform is straightforward and saves time when researching market data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Salary.com?

I wish it were easier to save all of the roles that I look up. I do a quarterly search on over 20 positions and I dont feel that there is a simple enough way to get to those quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

GW
"A Key Resource for Accurate Compensation Insights"
What do you like best about Salary.com?

I love the precision and depth of Salary.com's Personal Salary Report, which feels like having an HR expert next to me. Unlike other sites that rely on crowdsourced data, it uses employer-reported data considering my education, experience, and target company size. I appreciate the 'Cost of Living Wizard,' which easily shows how moving cities affects my take-home pay after taxes and expenses. The Personalized Salary Report and Cost of Living Wizard are valuable tools for career planning and life changes, giving detailed data-driven insights. It makes salary negotiations easier by providing reliable, specific data, transforming the platform into a negotiation partner. The initial setup of Salary.com is straightforward, allowing quick access to tools without creating an account. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Salary.com?

In 2026, while Salary.com is incredibly powerful, the primary friction point I encounter is the high wall between free insights and the truly deep, actionable data. Sometimes the interface can feel a bit overwhelming and 'corporate,' with so many menus and upsells that it can be tricky to quickly find the specific Salary Search tool I need without getting lost in a sea of advertisements. I’ve also noticed that for very niche or emerging roles in the tech and green-energy sectors, the employer-reported data can occasionally lag behind the rapid, real-time shifts seen on more community-driven platforms. Streamlining the user experience to be more intuitive and finding a way to provide a bit more granular detail to the free user would make the platform feel less like a gatekeeper and more like a seamless career companion. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Alex Bell of Salary.com

Thank you for your detailed review! It’s great to hear that you are getting so much value from the free version of our platform.

We understand that for free users there are certain limitations. This is because our subscription customers get exclusive access to scoping tools that allow you to get more granular data, and we offer real-time job data through our SalaryIQ product. We encourage you to get in touch if these interest you!

"Invaluable for Precision in Compensation Decisions"
What do you like best about Salary.com?

I use Salary.com as a reliable resource for compensation research and market benchmarking. It helps me understand salary ranges for different roles, industries, and experience levels, which is useful when evaluating job offers or preparing for salary negotiations. I appreciate that Salary.com includes not just base pay, but also bonuses and additional benefits, providing a realistic picture of total compensation. It's very helpful for comparing compensation trends across locations, considering cost-of-living differences and regional market demand. I like how Salary.com breaks down compensation into clear, realistic details based on role, experience level, and location, which makes the data feel accurate and up to date. Overall, it gives me confidence in understanding market pay and makes compensation decisions less stressful. The initial setup was straightforward and user-friendly, making it easy to start exploring compensation information quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Salary.com?

One thing that could be better about Salary.com is how up to date some of the information feels, especially for newer or more specialized roles where market changes happen quickly. I feel like I have to cross-check the data with other sources just to be sure it reflects current trends. Some of the more detailed insights like precise location-based comparisons or advanced breakdowns are limited unless you upgrade, which can be a bit restrictive. A simpler layout and clearer filters would make it faster to get exactly what I’m looking for. I'd like to see the data updated more frequently, especially for fast-changing industries and emerging job roles. Clear indicators showing when data was last refreshed would also build more confidence in the insights. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Reliable Insights, Smooth Onboarding"
What do you like best about Salary.com?

I like the accuracy and depth of Salary.com's compensation data. The breakdown of salaries by role, experience, and location is really helpful for understanding realistic pay ranges. I also appreciate the clear presentation of total compensation, including bonuses and benefits, which aids in making informed career and negotiation decisions. The initial setup was straightforward and easy, with the platform being intuitive, allowing me to access salary data without much configuration or a steep learning curve. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Salary.com?

While Salary.com is very useful, some salary ranges can feel a bit broad, especially for niche or highly specialized roles. More frequent data updates and clearer visibility into how recent the data is would improve trust and accuracy. Additionally, enhancing customization options—such as filtering by specific skills, certifications, or company size—would make the insights even more relevant. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Alex Bell of Salary.com

Thank you for your review! We’re glad you had a smooth onboarding process and feel more confident making competitive pay decisions.

Thank you for your feedback. We offer industry-specific surveys like IPAS and CompData, as well as SalaryIQ for real-time job posting data.
