The choice to manage the expenses in a structural way is constrained by system settings. The categorization, group and entity are too complicated and difficult to configure as per different needs of companies. The synchronisation of transactions and expenses cause a delay in timely filing of the expenses (i.e., impossible to conduct in an instant way). I worked with their product team when they were a small company and, over time, they sorted out the problems. **What do you dislike about Rydoo?** Six years and some change later, I've been keeping all of my small business expense records in Rydoo. It's just me, perhaps a handful of receipts per week. My Rydoo costs doubled from $40 per year to $80 per year from 2016 to 2022. This year, they're increasing the cost to $120 per year and requiring me to pay for five subscriptions (paid in advance), an increase from $80 to $600. I'll be moving my data away from Rydoo - a 15x increase in costs isn't the behavior that I expect from a stable business partner, and I'd caution others to beware. **What problems is Rydoo solving and how is that benefiting you?** Tracking expenses, reporting expenses. I'm not using Rydoo for expense management, only expense tracking. I track with expenditure categories that match tax categories and run an annual report for my accountant with all the receipts. As mentioned elsewhere, Rydoo is creating more problems than its solving at the moment. Their 15x cost increases over the past six years are driving me to another solution. Paying for something on the go... just snap a photo of the receipt and it automatically gets logged. Booking a train on your laptop, just drag and drop the PDF confirmation into the website. At the end of the week, I give everything a quick once over, and submit! I can even track the progress of being approved/paid so I know when I can expect my reimbursements to arrive. **What do you dislike about Rydoo?** In general, really happy with the product, there's nothing to dislike. The only flaw in the process is the occasional need to chase a line manger/finance team to approve payments butthat's a human problem. At least the UI tells me where my claim is 'stuck' so I know who to chase. **What problems is Rydoo solving and how is that benefiting you?** In the past with a boring and laborious expenses process, I sometimes wouldn't get around to making claims in a timely manner as I'd have more pressing ways to spend my day. This would result in credit card bills stacking up. The system is also straightforward to administrate; we have linked our company business cards to the system so expenses are automatically listed and matched to invoices. **What do you dislike about Rydoo?** They recently released an update to their system where staff must now click 'submit' before the expenses can be harvested. For us there was no benefit to the change, it just resulted in an additional step before we could complete the expenses for the month. **What problems is Rydoo solving and how is that benefiting you?** We used to report expenses via Excel spreadsheets and staff members posting in their physical receipts. The admin wasted on this system was not acceptable for the finance team. With Rydoo individual staff members have to take responsibility for loading their expenses onto the system, taking a photo (doing away with paper-based records) of the receipt/invoice, coding the expense correctly in terms of type of expense and which cost centre the cost belongs to. When I use autocorrect/predictive-spelling, it doesn't add a space to type the next word so I can't use the predictive text to type sentences quickly and I'm a slow typer as is! This is the first app that I use with such a smart Ai reading the receipt very accurately, with less fuss and a pretty comprehensive choice of tax rates and category. I also like the audit trail for the whole submission. **What do you dislike about Rydoo?** I think the app naming is sometimes misleading because there are 4 stages of the claims. The dashboard shows (to submit > waiting for approval > waiting to be controlled > waiting to be reported) while each line item and on each expenses audit trail shows a similar word which can be confusing for non finance/accounting people. **What problems is Rydoo solving and how is that benefiting you?** Rydoo is a perfect solution for the submission of expense claims and it is helping the team members who may not be in the same country as the finance people. It has automated the whole process and expedited it as well. First world problem and easy to get around. Only other potential 'bug' to work out is notifications around items that need to be sent back for review - had a couple things hung up when there were adjustments needed. **What problems is Rydoo solving and how is that benefiting you?** I think employees would sometimes rather eat the cost of expenses than submit them if the process is too cumbersome.
