Runway is an incredibly flexible tool with an easy learning curve compared to other tools in the class. The time to value is extremely quick - weeks vs. months with other tools, and is actually quite fun to build in. The number of available integrations is second to none, there is no other tool I am aware of that has anywhere close to the number of connections available. Runway is still quite early in its journey. The product can be unstable at times, but it is nothing too bad. The team is always extremely quick to jump on any issues, which I expect to be resolved in the very near future. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Runway just gets it. The UI is clean, the app is blazing fast, and the reporting is next-level. The SQL engine is insane—way more powerful than Excel, making data modeling simple and easy. Plus, it connects to tools like Rippling, which no one else does.

But the real MVP? Their customer support. They respond instantly to bugs and actually fix things fast. Most companies say they care about feedback—Runway actually proves it. We use it daily because it’s become our go-to source of truth for running the business.

Runway Financial is an easy to use and intuitive system that allows for an endless amount of financial modeling. Our business needs a system that has ways to factor in changes in a forecasted timeline and the impact of those inputs, and Runway's Plan feature is exactly that. The system is incredibly powerful, easy to use, easy to implement and learn, and they have a very responsive team of real people. With a complex tool such as Runway it was unsurprising that implementation time took a little longer than we were hoping, but the Runway team were there to assist us throughout the process, walking us through every step of the way so we could confidently set up our forecast in the way that best fit our company. Runway is a powerful FP&A tool that integrates with other many applications, which reduces manual admin work to update. The options are limitless on the dimensions that you can create and link within your various models. Runway provide a lot of resources to learn how to use the software and their customer support team is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful in getting your models set up and working properly. You can create charts to summarize data and easily share with other people with a click of a button. They also release regular product updates that improve the application and add new features. This is my first time using an FP&A tool so there was a steep learning curve getting familiar with the terminology (drivers vs dimensions), and how to properly build out models. We use an accounting system that is specific to our industry and does not have APIs so our process ended up being a little more manual that I had hoped but we were able to find workarounds to reduce the manual work as much as possible. Runway seamlessly integrates multiple business systems/ tools into a single, intuitive dashboard. Instead of toggling between different platforms, we now have a unified, real-time view of our financial and operational data, which helps with regular internal and board-facing reporting that we pull together on a monthly/quarterly basis. Like any financial tool, Runway does require some time to fully onboard, especially for team members who aren’t in finance functions. However, the learning curve is well worth it, and the customer success team has been awesome to work with. While Runway Financial is a powerful tool, the onboarding process can be quite complex. It definitely requires the white-glove service to get everything set up properly. My main concern is that making changes down the road may not be as straightforward without continued support. It’s a great solution, but be prepared for a learning curve.
