Also, while the 3D features are strong, color and material customization is sometimes limited to 3D mode only — I would love to see more flexibility in 2D floor plan styling as well. As a real estate advisor, I often work with apartments that are under development or in need of visual upgrades. With RoomSketcher, I can easily create before/after layouts, visualize potential furniture arrangements, and show clients how a space could look — without needing an architect or graphic designer. It also saves a significant amount of time in client communication. The interface is user friendly and it doesn't take long to get comfortable with using the software (this is coming from a GenXer who doesn't have a natural comfort level with technology!). **What do you dislike about RoomSketcher?** My main dislike is that while there is a multitude of furniture options for home, hospitality and gyms, there isn't yet a segment for retail furniture which is my primary usage for this software. I can make due with some of the existing furniture and when that's not an option I can always use the very smart "building blocks" feature to create my own. **What problems is RoomSketcher solving and how is that benefiting you?** For my consulting role I need the ability to create 2D floorplans for the stores who hire our firm and I used to have to pay someone to create these floorplans for me. For example, if there are two barriers on a balcony, I have to click each one individually and assign it the online barrier. All of them are available and I only need to assign the barrier type once. Also, the sight states you can have AI import/upload blueprint plans with a paid subscription/upgrade. I have the Pro account and it wants to charge me additional fees. While not an AutoCAD replacement, it can do more than the basics without too much effort. A has the great ability to import an existing PDF (or jpg) floorplan with known dimensions and then trace over it to recreate your own matching floorplan. It won't "autobuild" your plan, but you can get very close with careful tracing. Remember to save often. **What do you dislike about RoomSketcher?** Two things. It is a bit "old school" with a download local software on your computer (I worked on a Windows computer) but it was nice to have it save in the cloud and then I was able to download the software on my second laptop and continue without "buying" the software again. But here is the warning. This is a pay to use. I did buy the annual plan which was mostly "reasonable" for my needs but here is the strange catch. You get a set number of "credits" that get incremented each new month. And for some specific actions, they get used for certain actions. I was not quite sure what action was going to "cost" me some of my actions, and so when I wanted to perform a new action (such as back up to a new plan) I might run out of "stored" credits and would either have to buy more or wait for the month to roll over to earn more. So I did end up having to pay for more credits than my original purchase. (Frown) They need to be more transparent of what the action costs are going to be before performing the actions. On the other hand my Frown turned to a little less unhappy, as I used my credits to have them convert an existing PDF architectural drawing into a full floor plan. After submitting, it took 24 hours, but their staff did an OUTSTANDING job transforming a complex blueprint into a great RoomSketcher file, well worth the extra 10 credits. In the end, it did cost me more (why the frown), but I was very pleased with the results, which is why I am giving them a positive score of 8. **What problems is RoomSketcher solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am a home user and looking to buy a new home. I wanted to sketch out a floor plan of a new home and see how my furniture my fit. We chose to use RoomSketcher thinking this would project a more professional look but it takes longer than just drawing on the graph paper, and is way more frustrating.
