Rollstack Pros and Cons

It does its job very well. It's easy for our CSMs to create custom EBRs for our clients with specific date ranges, and then further customize these presentations to their heart's content. It removes a lot of the grunt work, so they can focus on higher value additions.

I also really like how respoinsive their team is if I'm ever running into any issues or have questions. They're also good about proactively communicating about additional features on their roadmap, which we're very excited about!

I'm still figuring out the best way to do version control.

It also requires a data person (ie. me) to create any charts they need for EBRs / any type of reporting. It's not really something, our finance team for example, could use by themselves, at least with our current set up.

The ease of use! As somebody who is new to the platform, the onboarding, training, trail and error while initially using the product has been a refreshing experience. Rollstack fill a big gap in the analytics tech stack. Prior to Rollstack we struggled with how to get data out of our dashboards into the slide decks where the data was consumed. It was a manual excersise for our business partners to copy and paste that data and visualizations, but with Rollstack we have it automated for our most time consuming decks.

Since we started using Rollstack, our team has saved a significant amount of time on creating slide decks. We use Tableau extensively in our organization, and before Rollstack, it was always a challenge to incorporate our visualizations into presentations without manually recreating the same charts. Rollstack has not only streamlined this process but also elevated the quality of our slides. The charts and graphs we bring over from Tableau are now clearer and easier to read, which makes our presentations more impactful and visually engaging. So far, our only issue has been that the update functionality doesn’t work when duplicating a presentation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I realized I was spending more time building presentations than actually gathering data. Now I create in an hour the same number of reports I used to create in five.

I only used the Tableau and Google Slides integrations, but setting them up took like two clicks each.

Rollstack saves me so much time during my routine tasks. It is super easy to use, and if there is a problem, there is no need to contact the support; they will proactively contact you about the problem. The addition of Rollstack to our set of automation tools has significantly improved our OKR reporting! Automating the numerous slide decks across our org has saved our teams hundreds of hours over the course of the year, allowing them to focus more on analysis, decision making, and making live updates in real time. There are still some bugs and additional requests that are being worked through, and having the ability to connect Rollstack to Excel would be awesome. However, the quick response from the teams on our request make the tool nimble and easy to update! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What I like best about Rollstack is its core premise: making it possible to create slidedecks at scale from a multitude of data sources. Some features that are especially good in my eyes are:

- Images do not get distorted or re-scaled when pasted into slidedecks.

- Variant creation and maintenance is easy through the use of Collections.

- Able to handle large requests, without complications like modifications to the graphs, shuffeling slidedecks etc.

Every software has its downsides. For me, those include:

- Application can be slow, especially as the slidedecks and the underlying dashboards grow larger.

- Navigating Looker folder structures is unoptimal.

Working in a global organization means that analysis projects designed for one country must also be useful/applicable to others. Rollstack enables us to EASILY automate slide decks for Monthly and Quarterly Business Reviews across all our operating countries (around 20), saving each of the country/region specific analysts at least 4-5 hours of work each month.

Rollstack has been very useful for automating MBRs. It has significantly reduced the time needed for their preparation, allowing us to focus on what really matters during these types of meetings. It’s an easy-to-use tool for connecting Tableau with Google Sheets, and whenever I have encountered any issues, I have received quick responses from a member of the Rollstack team. I have found it challenging to move presentations within folders in Google Sheets without affecting the performance of Rollstack’s automation.
