When I'm having trouble, which is infrequent, it is usually because I didn't understand something. It's hard to teach an old geazer new tricks. RoboForm is intuitive. The browser extention, desktop app, and mobile apps don't always sync up or communicate well. I keep having to reinstall the browser extension to make it work. **Recommendations to others considering RoboForm:** Make sure you set it up properly to allow the permissions and access you want for each group using it. **What problems is RoboForm solving and how is that benefiting you?** Not having to micromanage staff passwords the ability to set it and forget it has been incredibly helpful. One would have to inform the other users to sync their accounts after a password change. The other downside is the system will prompt users to save a new login when we did not change the password. We simply sign in but if we are not careful we can end up having multiple saves for the same website. **What problems is RoboForm solving and how is that benefiting you?** Password security and management are much more manageable. Gone are the days of updating excel sheets. If users are terminated or hired, we can unplug or plug them in much faster. ### 5. This becomes irritating. I can turn off the autofill popups but then i lose that benefit on other sites. RoboForm fits smoothly into your desktop and browser and works happily - like a good robot - in the background. The uncluttered design focuses on overview instead of bells and whistles, but this simplicity should not be mistaken for a lack of features. Many customisation and setting options also satisfy tinkerers without confusing beginners. **What do you dislike about RoboForm?** Even after using the desktop app for a long time, it takes some time to get used to all the functions. The design is outdated and not intuitive. Compared to other password manager, this is an area where RoboForm could improve. Here and there something did not run perfectly, but I have not yet seen a password manager where everything runs perfectly. This is in the nature of things, as every website with forms is technically constructed differently. **What problems is RoboForm solving and how is that benefiting you?** We had some shared password for company apps that were simple and were not changed when someone left the company. The browser integration is hard to decipher - too many variables, not enough clarity of what each setting will do when choosing to use it. It's hard to train team members to understand and get them to utilize it fully. **Recommendations to others considering RoboForm:** I chose Roboform YEARS ago - back in 2008. I've stuck with them because I am familiar with the product, and they have evolved functionality in ways that match my needs. I've looked at moving to systems with better user interfaces and more ease of use, more intuitive, etc. But I've never found a comparable plan that seemed compelling enough to make the switch. I think about switching every time I need to train a new staff member on how to use it, though. We set permissions granularly and also store network, equipment, and client data. Roboform makes it easy to have a unique and strong password for each login using its password generator. We utilize the identity feature to store and use purchasing/credit card info. We also use the ability to save and fill out forms when doing repetitive promotional forms and when testing during web development. The sharing features allow us to securely share specific passwords with customers and collegues as needed. The contacts feature comes in very handy to store information for individual client's staff computers and equipment setup. Finally, the emergency/inheritance feature allows us to make Roboform an integrated part of our business continuity plan. Roboform is excellent software, and we continue to find new ways to use it to make business/personal computer use more manageable. ### 30. Signs into more than just web pages. Full featured desktop app as well as the browser extensions. **What do you dislike about RoboForm?** Coming from Dashlane it is more complicated, which is understandable most of the time as it does more but for 1-2 users it can be a lot more complexity to get the basics covered. On the PC I'm very happy but the android app is not working well for me. I constantly have to manually sync the app. When I go to a site or app that has a stored password, the RF icon is there but when I click on it, there are only a handful of the 200+ logins I have there. Going to the RF app, I see the same few logins until I sync. Since I just swapped phones, I was doing this sync several times back to back as I installed all my old apps. If my desktop experience wasn't as positive at it is, I would have gone back to Dashlane. I only moved off it because I need more advanced IT Pro work features and Dashlane is retiring their desktop app (Why!?! argh). I do plan on reaching out to support about the app issues as I can't see RF being so popular and well reviewed if my experience was typical. **What problems is RoboForm solving and how is that benefiting you?** The most immediate improvement RF gave me over Dashlane was how passwords are shared. RF has folders. So when I log into a website and it offers to save the password, I just pick what folder it goes into. Folder X is shared with my IT department, Folder Y is me personally, Folder Z is 'family' with my wife. No additional steps or emails to accept sharing requests. ### 31. MFA is enabled for new device setup and the user has to sign in each time they login, so it's a significant improvement over people storing their passwords in the browser (which they all do even if you tell them not to). Password generation feature is nice, and the letter grade for a person's overall password score is super helpful in identifying weak spots. I personally love using it and it inspired me to get password management software for non-business use. **What do you dislike about RoboForm?** We've had a few frustrations in implementation - first, during initial setup, the add-ons don't automatically install in modern browsers. Our staff is not tech-savvy, so I had to go and assist most of them personally. But, to be fair, this may be a limitation imposed by the browser's security and not something RoboForm could necessarily fix. Second, some users have had trouble with updating their passwords. It seems to depend on how the service formats their password reset form - sometimes RoboForm captures the wrong fields or URL and it breaks the login, so I have to manually assist them. But they've made improvements recently and this is happening less often. Finally, and this is my biggest complaint - one of the primary drivers of purchasing RoboForm over other services was the Security Center function, where an admin has access to a dashboard that shows all users' password letter grades. The dashboard is simply not accurate and therefore not usable. I discussed with RoboForm Support (which was not very responsive - I waited weeks in some cases for a reply and there is no phone number you can call, it's just a ticket system) and they advised that any shared passwords or passwords stored within groups are not included in the dashboard score. That is a big limitation in itself, but it still doesn't account for all of the disparities between what each user sees as their personal score and what I see on the dashboard. **Recommendations to others considering RoboForm:** Despite my enumerated frustrations, implementing RoboForm has definitely been a net positive. If it's in your budget and the others seem a little pricey, like they did to us, go for it! **What problems is RoboForm solving and how is that benefiting you?** RoboForm addresses some huge security problems - there's no more passwords scribbled on sticky notes and scattered around people's offices, or listed in Excel spreadsheets. Password strength has increased tremendously since people don't have to remember them anymore. It eases the employee on-boarding process, and there's no longer any worry of losing access to necessary accounts when an employee leaves (assuming you have those key passwords setup in a Group). It's also much, much easier to share access to paid accounts/services, since the credentials can be stored in a Group where everyone will have instant access to the most up-to-date password. It's definitely saved me a lot of time, since I have over 50 different accounts and was constantly having to reset passwords since I had forgotten them and wasn't writing them down for security reasons. ### 32. I think the security is the best feature, though. Knowing how difficult it would be to hack is pretty much the only reason my company decided to go with Roboform. We feel very secure with using it. **What do you dislike about RoboForm?** I miss the popup window that used to be available when you would view your password info. It also was for generating passwords. The thing that was great about it (especially for generating passwords), is you could copy the password to your clipboard in case it didn't save. There are times where because of a website's login or signup, saving the data doesn't get completed and with the popup, you could at least be sure to have the password in your clipboard and when you go to the normal login, sign in properly and it would save. Now it's a little more complicated. Not too much, but I miss having that feature. **What problems is RoboForm solving and how is that benefiting you?** Every employee had a different method for saving passwords before, and now we all have the same thing. We each share our master password with our attorney (in a sealed envelope only to be opened if something happens to us), so we have a backup just in case someone gets hit by a bus. As a bookkeeper who processes a lot of transactions, I really do love the ability to save credit card info and have it fill in for me. Saves time. ### 34.
