## Roam Reviews
 ### 1. Everyone to the Auditorium — Roam is LIVE!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jarrod P. | Senior Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Roam?**

I love seeing the virtual floors, meeting rooms, and offices. It reminds me a bit of the overhead visual from the CLUE board games. As soon as I start my day, I'm grounded in a virtual space and able to connect more organically with teammates. All the things that *should work*, *do work*. The performance is great, the video quality is high, and there are integrations to high-value productivity tools.

**What do you dislike about Roam?**

I think if I was trying to use this as a small business owner then I might be priced out of using Roam, but since my employer is paying for it now, I don't really have to worry about that.

**What problems is Roam solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As an engineering team, we try to operate asynchronously, by default, and then meet, if needed. Roam fits this perfectly. I can easily see who is around and knock on their door for a quick question. It is actually even better than the in-person equivalent, because I don't have to leave my desk, and neither do my co-workers. We can virtually hop around, no problem!

 ### 2. Indispensable and Intuitive—Roam Delivers Reliable Meetings, AI Insights, and Great Value

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jay F. | Principal Advisor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 15, 2026

**What do you like best about Roam?**

Indispensable, multi-faceted, and reasonably priced, Roam serves as my virtual meeting space, and so much more. The interface is intuitive, and the feature updates are both frequent and meaningful. The API integrations also support my automated transcription processing. I honestly don’t remember Roam ever being “down” in a way that forced me to use something else.

Magic Minutes was my first consistent use of AI for business processes, and it produces excellent, actionable insights. The follow-up actions are clearly assigned, which makes it easy to move from discussion to execution. The price is exceptional for any single feature of the platform, but the combination of practical solutions for a virtual workforce makes it a steal.

I recommend signing up for their VIP tour; it’s informative, and it also feels like a genuine reflection of their ongoing support and engagement.

**What do you dislike about Roam?**

What I dislike is less about Roam itself and more about the stranglehold incumbents have in this space. People often forget that they had to authorize the camera and microphone when they signed up for their enterprise solution, so the first time they use Roam, the initial setup can feel clunky.

**What problems is Roam solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Context is king, and Roam’s Magic Minutes have captured a ton of context from my client meetings. In practice, Roam has quietly collected a real treasure trove of information about my work, which I’ve been able to use to feed richer context into Claude as my consulting practice has grown. At this point, Roam feels like my entry point for information, and it plugs into Claude in a way that helps me stay organized.

 ### 3. Makes Our Virtual Office Feel Real—Magic Minutes Is a Standout

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David S. | Web Design Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 30, 2026

**What do you like best about Roam?**

It has everything I need to make the virtual office feel like a real office. I personally love Magic Minutes and use it often to refer back to meeting notes without having to manually take notes down.

**What do you dislike about Roam?**

There seems to be a bug or so with Mac OS Ventura maybe, at least on my Macbook Pro 2019 (16"), where anytime my video is on, the video itself is quite laggy, almost 1 frame per 10 seconds.

**What problems is Roam solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Making the virtual office work and work well. We never have to go to a physical office again unless it's needed for a meeting or a fun activity, because everything we need (meeting recordings, AI note taker, white boards, screen share, team rooms, tons of integrations etc.) are all built in to Roam!

 ### 4. Revolutionized Our Communication with Seamless Integration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Martin T.

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2026

**What do you like best about Roam?**

I use ROAM daily for all of our intercompany communication and communication with clients outside the company, and I love the fact that ROAM operates literally twenty-four seven. It's great that I can simply go to the room that someone is participating in and enjoy the ability to transact, discuss, and share ideas immediately. One of the things I like most about ROAM is that when I'm doing prospecting with my team, because we can all see each other, it provides a sense of community, a sense that we're all doing those things together. ROAM does a fantastic job, replacing several apps like Teams and Zoom, and it fully integrates with Google Calendar as well as our CRM. The setup was extremely easy, and once we got a better handle on how to onboard onto ROAM and use all its functions, it became a very productive tool to use. We really love it.

**What do you dislike about Roam?**

Often with ROAM, especially when participating while in a moving vehicle, you tend to get quite a bit of freeze. This happens when transitioning from cell towers.

**What problems is Roam solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use ROAM for all intercompany and client communication. It replaces Zoom and Teams, operates 24/7, integrates with Google Calendar and CRM, allowing immediate discussions and idea sharing. It even replaces texting, doing everything we need fantastically.

 ### 5. Seamless Virtual Collaboration with ROAM

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Liiko W. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Roam?**

I like ROAM because it makes working virtually feel a whole lot more connected, like having an office where you can knock on someone's door. It also allows you to have a shelf of your interests, which makes staying connected a whole lot easier and simpler. I have a very good idea of what people are doing and where they're at, making it a more collaborative space similar to being at the actual office. The feature where you can knock on someone's door is super enjoyable because it shows when someone else is in a room, and you can easily jump in and join them. This feature gives me a good idea if someone is away or available, contributing to greater accessibility between each other. Additionally, our room is connected to Zoom, so we know when we're having external meetings, which is super helpful.

**What do you dislike about Roam?**

I don't have any qualms with what needs to improve in ROAM. But I guess one thing that could improve is having multiple connectivities to anything on Google Calendar. It would be helpful to represent whether or not you're busy.

**What problems is Roam solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ROAM makes virtual work feel connected, like being in an office. It simplifies internal meetings and collaboration, letting you knock on doors for quick updates. It's integrated with Zoom, helping us manage external meetings efficiently.

 ### 6. Roam: The ultimate connectivity tool for remote workers

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michelle S. | VP of Sales, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Roam?**

I truly love Roam. It's purpose-built for remote teams, and it helps us feel more connected than any other communication platform I've used. It replaces Slack and Zoom, but it goes beyond that to help us feel like a cohesive organization. Since most companies are already familiar with videoconferencing and instant messaging, I will focus on the other elements that make it a great tool.

Every employee has an "office", and the door knock feature creates an audio connection if the receiving party accepts the knock. It feels like a phone call, though it does support screen sharing. It's great for quick questions that are better to talk through but do not need a dedicated meeting.

We have "rooms", which are essentially evergreen videoconferencing destinations. I can ask a colleague to jump in one of these rooms without having to generate a link.

It's easy to see who is meeting with who, who is actively logged on, etc. This replicates being in an office and seeing who is at their desk and who is in a conference room with who. I like it, it feels more cohesive than a green circle on Slack.

Other tools include screen recording (e.g. for creating a quick how-to video), AI note-takers, whiteboards, schedulers (like Calendly), and more.

I've been remote since 2017, and this is the best!

**What do you dislike about Roam?**

I use the videoconferencing tool with external clients. Overall it works well, though every once in a while someone needs to switch to a different platform.

**What problems is Roam solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're a remote workforce, and it can be hard to foster the dynamic of an in-person office. Roam helps people feel connected, collaborate easily, and communicate no matter where in the world we are. It also replaces several disparate platforms, such as Zoom, Slack, Calendly, AI notetakers, Screencastify, etc.

 ### 7. Seamless Team Communication & Effortless Integration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gustavo O. | Co-Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Roam?**

I like ROAM because it's pretty easy to use, which is a big plus for me. It integrates the entire team in a really good way, allowing everyone to talk to each other simply. The support team is pretty good, too. They listen and have an internal live chat that helps solve any issues. The fact that hopping into a call is easy helps a lot, especially since my entire team is remote. It gets us much closer even though we're all working from home. These are some of the reasons I enjoy using ROAM.

**What do you dislike about Roam?**

I think some of the things that could be improved are related to the microphone speed and the voice speed. I have to click on control to raise the speed of the audio I'm listening to from my team, and it's not so easy to do every time. Also, forwarding some audios gives some bugs.

**What problems is Roam solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use ROAM for team communication, solving issues from Slack like failed connections. It integrates our remote team easily, making calls simple and keeping us connected. Its ease of use and good support help solve any issues effectively.

 ### 8. Great solution for startup teams with remote workers, but is trying to do too much.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 25, 2026

**What do you like best about Roam?**

Rooms and team room; even meeting rooms. Rooms in general. Really nice to see where everyone is and being able to instantly hit someone up. Didnt think it would translate at first but we use it every day now and its pretty critical for team communications

**What do you dislike about Roam?**

Not being able to customize room layouts - moving, adding, removing, renaming rooms is not possible. The theater is completely unused by us. Granted we are a team of 8 so it doesnt really make sense for us. Magic minutes suck. Background filter sucks, zooms and google meets is much better. Theres a lot of features that are just never gonna be used by us. Being able to create custom roammojis would be nice. Not being able to join the roam meeting whenever I want even if its very early is super annoying! The original onboarding call we had was awful, just some sales guy talking endlessly and monotically in the theater main stage without interacting with us for 30 minutes, almost made us not do it. Chat features are unused by us cuz we just use slack, it seems like a waste of space, I would rather if roam had slack integration or something. An easier way to clock out for a short period wud be nice like a come back in x minutes. right now u either set urself to dnd or exit.

**What problems is Roam solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being a team thats half in person and half remote, roam really bridges the gap. makes remote work and communication a lot better

 ### 9. Seamless Virtual Office Solution with Stellar Features

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jacob R. | Director of Dealer Relations and Strategic Growth, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Roam?**

I really appreciate ROAM for all its features and the price. It operates lightly and doesn't require contracts, which is a big plus for me. They even offer a two-week free trial, which was surprising. My team loved it from the start, and we began taking meetings in ROAM right away. The support from John, our point of contact, was great with a full walkthrough. I also find immense value in features like scheduling, calendar invites, video calls, audio calls, magic cast, magic minutes, and the ability to record calls and interact with the AI bot during meetings. This makes it easy to catch anything I might have missed. It was also super easy to set up; sign in, maybe connect some email accounts, and that's it. The company shows thoughtfulness in their approach and I have only good things to say about them.

**What do you dislike about Roam?**

I would say maybe a video call quality is eight and a half out of 10 sometimes. There's just settings in the platform, and I don't know how to use all the settings.

**What problems is Roam solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ROAM solves the problem of our segmented remote team. It enables us to stay connected easily, popping in and out of virtual offices. We use it to build culture within our organization and keep all conversations and meetings streamlined.

 ### 10. Roam Brings the Best Meeting Features Into a Personalized Mobile Office

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Will G. | Director of Site Management Operations, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 11, 2026

**What do you like best about Roam?**

Roam has the capability to host meetings for anyone, at any time. I’ve tried about half a dozen other platforms to communicate with others, and whether it’s work related or outside of work, this platform brings together the best features from those other tools into a personalized, mobile office space.

**What do you dislike about Roam?**

So far, there’s a lot to take in. It has so much potential, but it feels intimidating at the beginning.

**What problems is Roam solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We can use the platform beyond our day-to-day workflows. If I need to host a meeting with a hundred participants, we can make it happen. And if it’s just a one-on-one, it’s even easier.

 ### 11. Revolutionized Virtual Collaboration with Stellar Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Henry W. | Senior Member Success Manager, Leadership Coach, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Roam?**

I've been using ROAM for about two years, and I feel it's the best online video platform I've used. I love how easy it is to navigate, making it simple to customize my own virtual office space. The platform provides a hyper-customization feature, giving a sense of an in-person experience even though my team is spread across the country. The ability to knock on virtual doors feels natural. I appreciate the excellent customer support, which is really responsive and helps me troubleshoot any issues. It provides a digital platform where I handle most of my calls with potential clients and members, essentially allowing me to run my entire business from it. The initial setup was a breeze—I'd give it a 10 out of 10.

**What do you dislike about Roam?**

I think the only thing that comes to mind is, like, when you get at scale, letting people into a call. Like, for example, my sometimes we host a call with, like, 250 people on it. And I think, like, ROAM we've hit the capacity with ROAM a couple of times where we've had to pivot platforms would be the main thing.

**What problems is Roam solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ROAM helps me stay close with my coworkers and provides a digital platform for calls with clients, allowing me to completely run my business.

 ### 12. Streamlined Team Meetings with Room for Improvement

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vanessa B. | Partner & AI Solutions Director , Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Roam?**

I like the fact that with ROAM, you can see the whole office, who is working where, and whether they're available to meet immediately or if we need to schedule a session. It really saves time since sometimes it's easier to speak to someone rather than just chat, and it's much faster and efficient to just knock on their door and talk.

**What do you dislike about Roam?**

I think that the one item that needs improvement is the web access. The feedback I've got by guests, that I invite to meeting is that when I share my full screen, they cannot remove the section on the right therefore, the screen looks very small.

**What problems is Roam solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use ROAM to meet with people inside and outside my company. It shows me who's available in the office, saving time by making face-to-face communication easier and more efficient.

 ### 13. Revolutionizing Remote Team Communication

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Merrily C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Roam?**

I appreciate ROAM as a powerful tool for virtual office connection, especially while working from home. The personal AIs help bridge communication gaps and handle time management, aligning us better. I like that I can always see if my team members are available, and the ease of jumping into a ROAM channel or office without the hassle of scheduling is a big plus. It makes it easy to take action immediately. Using ROAM has also helped me use my phone less, which is a nice benefit. The initial setup of ROAM was very easy.

**What do you dislike about Roam?**

I know you're working on this, but sometimes when trying to knock on someone's office if it's too close to someone else's office you sometimes ended up knocking on the wrong office.

**What problems is Roam solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ROAM bridges gaps in communication and time management, providing a virtual office connection and helping us align while working from home.

 ### 14. Beautiful UI/UX, Smart AI Features, and Seamless Team Communication

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nikolaos P. | Full Stack Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Roam?**

It makes you feel like you’re part of the office even when you’re overseas, and it really helps communication between team members. The integrations they offer are really cool, the performance seems solid, and the AI features look genuinely helpful. The UI/UX also looks insanely good.

**What do you dislike about Roam?**

To be honest, the program currently includes everything I can possibly imagine.

**What problems is Roam solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Roam helps our overseas team members communicate more easily and feel like they’re truly part of the organization. Having meetings, chat, and a virtual view of the office all in one place is ideal, and it makes staying connected much simpler.

 ### 15. Best Virtual Office Experience with Powerful Features and Superb Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cathy B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 15, 2026

**What do you like best about Roam?**

Hands down the best solution for recreating the in office experience in an entirely virtual setting. Top that with a superb aggregation of powerful features that enabled me to ditch excessive subscriptions and retain all the capabilities. Cherry on the sundae is a stupendous team, superlative customer support and a community of users that actually helps each other take full advantage of features.

**What do you dislike about Roam?**

This field is required so I have to respond but truthfully my “dislike” is small and will evaporate with time and adoption.

Occasionally I hit a friction point with “guests” coming to my Roam for meetings who are joining from a mobile phone and don’t have the app downloaded. On a computer it just launches in browser but if I’ve not clarified to folks that they need the app if on a phone there’s a touch of friction.

**What problems is Roam solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easier to say what it’s not solving which is that I still have to generate my own clients 😂

It’s streamlined my subscriptions, allows me to facilitate any kind of meeting, workshop or webinar and integrated all the key features I need.

 ### 16. Invaluable for Seamless Team Connection and Collaboration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Peter S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Roam?**

People talk about all the products that Roam replaces (at great financial savings) such as Zoom, Calendly, Otter.ai, Slack, etc -- and that's all true. But even if Roam did NOT replace all of that we would find Roam invaluable for the way in which it allows our ~40 member team to seamlessly find one another... communicate... and collaborate. It's hard to explain but it's SO much better than Slack or Teams to connect a team. You just have to try and to see. I'm also wildly impressed with their speed of iteration and overall responsiveness. Make a suggestion and you may see it live within 10 days.

**What do you dislike about Roam?**

I wish Roam let me use video when chatting on my "office". Having to go to a "conference room" is just an endlessly repetitive.

**What problems is Roam solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As I said earlier, while Roam replaces your need for a handful of other pieces of SaaS, where it really shines is in creating a virtual office. We have ~40 employees across 30 different locations. Roam makes it feel like we're all on the same floor of the same building.

 ### 17. A Game-Changer for Remote Work

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marcel F. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Roam?**

I like how Roam bridges the gap between a virtual and in-person traditional office environment. It creates a sort of real office environment even though it's completely virtual. I can 'knock on people's doors' and have impromptu water cooler meetings, eliminating the need for strictly timed meetings. This aspect is extremely valuable to me because all my employees are remote, yet we're able to maintain close working relationships. Roam has effectively replaced multiple tools like Slack, Zoom, Google Meet, Loom, and Vidyard and covers all of those and plenty more. The initial setup was extremely easy for my team, and I have no problem recommending it to anyone who is either fully or hybrid virtual. There's no issue with it, and I've never recommended it to someone who didn't love it. It's become essential to running my business.

**What do you dislike about Roam?**

There is literally nothing I dislike about this product.

**What problems is Roam solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Roam lets my remote team connect globally, acting as our messaging platform, video recorder, and notetaker. It bridges virtual and traditional office environments, supporting real-time, impromptu interactions. It replaces tools like Slack, Zoom, and more, making it essential for running our business.

 ### 18. Meeting Mastery with ROAM's Magic Minutes

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sofia O. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 22, 2026

**What do you like best about Roam?**

I love the Magic Minutes feature, as it solves the problem of having to remember everything discussed in meetings. I also love the summaries and the AI help feature. I love how I can hop into meeting rooms with my staff and how easy it is to communicate with them using this app. I love that I can copy transcripts and record meetings, and everything is all in one app. It saves time when I have a summary of my candidate's interview in point form ready for my clients to review.

**What do you dislike about Roam?**

Sometimes random staff members will enter the meeting room if you forget to add the knock feature. So that's something that I'm struggling with.

**What problems is Roam solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I love the Magic Minutes feature; it solves remembering everything discussed in meetings. I love the summaries and AI help. It saves me time by summarizing candidate interviews for clients.

 ### 19. A virtual HQ that helps NGOs operate as one Team across continents

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Igor M. | CEO, Non-Profit Organization Management, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 07, 2026

**What do you like best about Roam?**

Roam turns remote work from a “chat-and-calendar” problem into a shared situational awareness problem: it gives the entire organization a single, live view of presence and interactions (who is online, who is meeting whom, where conversations are happening) and lets you act on that context immediately, with minimal coordination friction.

Its most distinctive strengths are, first, map-based live presence as the default interface. The HQ map makes coordination ambient rather than message-driven, so you spend less time reconstructing reality from fragmented tools.

Second, drop-in collaboration instead of scheduled bureaucracy: rooms and “click-to-join” behavior reduce the transaction costs of quick decisions and informal alignment - the closest digital analogue to walking over to someone’s desk.

Third, operational credibility through real deployment mechanics: native apps across Mac/Windows/iOS/Android/Linux, plus enterprise-grade identity controls such as Single Sign-On (SSO) via Security Assertion Markup Language 2.0 (SAML 2.0), signal the product is built for daily use and institutional governance, not just demos.

For New European Strategies (NES), this matters especially because the organization includes people across multiple continents. In that setup, the biggest constraint is not access to communication channels, but the absence of a shared “office” reference point where presence is visible and conversations can happen without formal scheduling. Roam provides that layer: it enables networking, spontaneous conversations, and rapid formation of small working groups, while making it feel as if we can “see each other” as if we were in the same physical office - despite geographic dispersion.

Additional points to make this concrete:

1. Ease of implementation: it is straightforward to roll out because Roam provides ready-to-install native clients and a clear “getting started” support path (install + sign-in), which reduces onboarding overhead.

2. Customer support: support is accessible directly inside the app via a dedicated support chat (“Team Roam Support Chat”) and via email, which is materially better than tools that bury support behind forms.

3. Frequency of use (daily): Roam delivers its full value when used every day as the “always-on” layer for presence and quick drop-ins; consistent daily usage keeps the HQ signal accurate and prevents it from becoming a stale dashboard.

4. Ease of integration (iOS, Apple Watch, other platforms): beyond cross-platform apps, Roam’s Live View can surface the HQ in real time on an iPhone’s lock screen and “even works on your Apple Watch” (and Apple CarPlay), which extends presence beyond the laptop.

**What do you dislike about Roam?**

Roam lacks an NGO / non-profit pricing option. Their public pricing explicitly states “No discounts,” which effectively means NGOs like New European Strategies are treated the same as commercial customers, even though our budgets, funding cycles, and usage patterns are structurally different.

In practice, this matters because Roam is priced per active user (defined as a user who logs in during a given month). For an NGO, participation can be seasonal and project-based, with fluctuating involvement from fellows, volunteers, and external experts. Without a non-profit tier (or grant-friendly terms), the pricing model becomes less aligned with how NGOs actually operate and can make long-term adoption harder to justify financially.

**What problems is Roam solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Roam is solving a cluster of problems that hit NGOs harder than most companies: coordination under uncertainty, cohesion without hierarchy, and relationship-building without physical co-location. For a networked organization like New European Strategies (NES), the benefits are less about “productivity” and more about institutional bandwidth and trust formation.

Roam primarily solves:
1. The “visibility gap” in a network organization
In NGOs, work is often carried by a rotating mix of core staff, fellows, volunteers, and external experts. Traditional tools show messages and meetings, not actual organizational reality. Roam makes the organization legible in real time, so NES does not waste cycles rediscovering who is active, who is available, and where work is happening.
2. The transaction cost of cross-continental collaboration
When people sit on different continents, coordination naturally shifts toward bureaucracy: scheduling, long threads, formal handoffs. Roam lowers the cost of “small contact,” which is where real progress happens - quick alignment, 10-minute clarifications, and ad hoc synthesis.
3. The collapse of informal networking in remote settings
NGOs live on relationship capital: trust, repeated exposure, and low-stakes interaction that later enables high-stakes cooperation. Roam recreates the conditions for spontaneous connection (digital “corridors”), which is disproportionately valuable for NES when building a community around research, events, and partnerships.
4. Meeting inflation and “calendar capture”
Distributed NGOs often compensate for low shared context by adding meetings. Roam replaces a portion of those meetings with ambient awareness and drop-ins, which increases time available for actual outputs (writing, research, partner work) without sacrificing alignment.
5. Continuity across projects and funding cycles
NGO work is episodic: grants start/end, projects surge, teams reconfigure. Roam helps preserve organizational continuity by giving NES a stable “home” where people return, re-enter context quickly, and reconnect without needing a fresh onboarding ritual every time.

How that benefits NES, concretely:
1 . Faster decision loops with less coordination overhead (fewer “let’s schedule” moments).
2. Stronger cohesion across continents because the team shares a common “place,” not just a set of channels.
3. Better networking outcomes (more spontaneous conversations that turn into collaboration).
4. Higher resilience during peak periods (events, publication pushes), because the organization can self-organize in real time rather than waiting for formal synchronization.
5. The strategic point: for an NGO, Roam is not just a communications tool; it is an institutional layer that converts dispersion into operability - as long as the organization treats it as a daily home base rather than an occasional meeting venue.

 ### 20. Fun and Efficient Remote Collaboration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tony N. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Roam?**

I love ROAM for the "fun" it brings with features like entrance music and Roamojis that make it enjoyable to be at work. I also appreciate the door knock feature for having really quick conversations instead of setting up meetings. Additionally, using ROAM with Slack is great for sharing Magic Minutes. The initial setup was easy and very straightforward, and I'm so satisfied with the product that I'm never leaving.

**What do you dislike about Roam?**

I find the chat functionality or the spotlight feature lacking. Spotlight doesn't show me clearly where they are. I also wish Magic Minutes also included the full transcript and recording. Those are separate options, which are hard to find.

**What problems is Roam solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ROAM simplifies setting up quick conversations and video meetings without needing to schedule in 30-minute increments.

 ### 27. Roam Revolutionized My Work-from-Home Experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 06, 2025

**What do you like best about Roam?**

Roam offers a sort of intangible sense of presence so you can feel connected to your teammates while working remote. I use roam every day, and can attest that it is a much better experience for remote work than the Zoom/Slack combo so many of us got used to in 2020. The visibility the map brings means it's easy to tell who's around and available NOW (which the "green dot" in other apps fails at), and I have a better sense of what's going on in the company. It also makes me feel more like I'm working with other people, which is nice because I work in a different city than my coworkers. My calendar isn't full of meetings because the map enables quick drop ins for efficient (mostly audio-only) conversations. The GitHub integration makes it easy to quickly discover PRs that I've been requested to review, and the Spotify integration is a fun culture boost. I have all my meetings automatically transcribed and summarized with Roam's Magic Minutes, so I never have to think about taking notes in meetings. Finally, I don't have deal with juggling a bunch of different tools, because Roam singlehandedly handles video (and audio) conferencing, chat (including DMs and threaded channels), meeting summarization, screen recording, scheduling links, an AI assistant, etc.

**What do you dislike about Roam?**

Because Roam handles so many different features, the depth of functionality on any given feature can be less comprehensive compared to more specialized alternatives (e.g., Roam's Magicast vs. Loom). Still, I find Roam usually covers the 80/20 well for a fraction of the price (given their all-in-one bundle), and the team puts out new features quickly (and listens a lot to customer feedback).

**What problems is Roam solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Roam helps our team of about 30 people work together efficiently from several different cities with no physical office. In general, there are pros and cons to remote work. Remote work has many benefits, like being able to hire talent from anywhere, no commute, greater flexibility balancing work with personal responsibilities, travel, etc., and savings on office space. On the other hand, remote work can make it so teams feel less connected and individuals more isolated, and introduces overhead in communication. Roam does a good job of bridging the gap here, bringing more of the benefits of in-office work to the virtual space. This makes it easy to feel like we're getting the best of both worlds in the work-from-home dichotomy, to the extent that's possible. In addition, the virtual office allows for more seamless integration of AI tools, which is an exciting new space to explore.

 ### 28. Revolutionized Our Team's Productivity

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Arnav B.

**Reviewed Date:** November 05, 2025

**What do you like best about Roam?**

I truly appreciate Roam for its ease of use and the frictionless experience it offers in meeting with people. It gives me a sense of control over my day, allowing me to structure my time even when meetings are impromptu, which accelerates my workflow positively. The interactive features are fantastic, providing most of the tools I need, making it an overall positive experience that others also appreciate. I find the state-of-the-art notetaker to be exceptional, summarizing meetings hands-free and creating actionable items seamlessly. The ability to access full transcripts and prompt the AI assistant for tasks offers great flexibility and efficiency. Scheduling, email tasks, and developing insights using the AI tools are incredibly powerful features that I love. The on-demand video rooms and theater-style experiences for large groups provide a unified experience, enhanced with fun elements like emojis. I also value the map feature, offering visibility and insight like never before. It's a comprehensive one-stop shop which consolidates all necessary tools and integrations, fostering productivity and better team culture. The setup process was smooth and intuitive, making it easy to get started quickly, which contributes to the great experience Roam offers. Overall, it’s a game-changing product that I highly recommend.

**What do you dislike about Roam?**

I think that maybe the UI is a little lightweight. It is meant to be that way, and you can configure it to suit your brand better, but I do think it could be improved further. It could feel less lightweight.

**What problems is Roam solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Roam solves remote work challenges by keeping my distributed team connected, reducing meeting times to eight minutes on average, and eliminating the need for multiple tools. It consolidates various features, enhancing productivity and team culture with state-of-the-art AI tools and integrations.

 ### 29. All-in-One Collaboration Powerhouse

**Reviewed Date:** November 05, 2025

**What do you like best about Roam?**

I greatly appreciate Roam for its multifunctional capabilities, effectively combining 8 tools into one platform, including AI transcriptions, summaries, and an AI assistant. This all-in-one solution allows me to significantly cut costs, saving money by reducing the need to pay for multiple separate software tools. I especially enjoy the visibility of the floor map, which enhances the collaborative experience and makes remote work feel like an in-office setting with colleagues. The setup process was remarkably seamless, thanks to the supportive Roam team that ensured our transition was smooth and set us up for success right from the start. Furthermore, integrating Roam with my CRM system was straightforward, and replacing other tools like Zoom, Slack, Calendly, Loom, and Otter.ai with Roam has streamlined my daily operations. I couldn't be more satisfied with Roam.

**What do you dislike about Roam?**

I think Roam works great overall, but I would like an additional feature that allows me to access my email inbox directly through Roam.

**What problems is Roam solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Roam makes remote work feel like an office environment, saving money by consolidating multiple tools with AI transcriptions, summaries, and screen recording in one platform.

 ### 30. The Ultimate Virtual Office Solution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Howard L.

**Reviewed Date:** October 31, 2025

**What do you like best about Roam?**

I love how Roam has transformed the way we work by allowing us to operate without a physical office. This change means our employees no longer need to commute, and we can hire talent from anywhere in the world, all of which saves us significant operational costs. The ability to run our company without traditional office space truly revolutionizes our work structure. I also really appreciate Roam’s ease of use once it’s set up, making daily activities seamless for me and my team. The feature I find most valuable is the 'magic minutes,' an AI notetaker that provides automatic summaries and transcriptions after each call, contributing efficiently to our company knowledge. The graphical office interface with a floor plan map is outstanding, as it mimics the physical office experience without geographical constraints, enhancing collaboration and presence. It has substantially reduced our average meeting time and improved our company culture by bringing everyone together virtually in a way that feels natural and present. Additionally, Roam replaces a multitude of other apps, providing all necessary functionalities under one platform, which makes our operations much smoother and less fragmented.

**What do you dislike about Roam?**

Setting up Roam was a bit of a process, which indicates that the initial setup might be somewhat challenging or time-consuming.

**What problems is Roam solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Roam to eliminate the need for a physical office, allowing my team to work globally, reducing commute, and saving on office costs. It integrates multiple functions like video conferencing and AI note-taking, boosting productivity and enhancing our team culture.

The fact you can quickly and easily drop-in for impromptu meetings. The virtual presence feature is unlike anything else on the market, natural & convenient without being invasive.

**What problems is Roam solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Roam is making it possible to collaborate while working remotely. It helps me connect with my teammates & keep track of tasks without being booked back-to-back-to-back in meetings all day.

 ### 40. Full virtual office, but would make you miss Slack

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 13, 2025

**What do you like best about Roam?**

Roam is a full virtual office, that I've been using daily for the past few months. It allows you to see who is online, know on the doors (start voice call) and see who is talking to who. Screen share showing other people cursors so people can point at the other screen just by hovering over the screen share (this is really helpful).

**What do you dislike about Roam?**

It takes time to get use to it, because it's not intuitive. Notifications are the worst. A call is just a beep, you missed the beep, you missed the call. There's no pending notifications at the desktop level (at least on Mac's notification center). Screen share layout is not ideal, having a lot of black margins while the actual content looks small in the center. You cannot use pinch zoom (have to Command + Scroll) and there's this awful always on top behavior that you cannot disable so it's terrible to multitask while on a screen share.

**What problems is Roam solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Virtual meetings with screen share and collaboration across teams

 ### 41. Love this tool. Makes our decentralized team feel super close

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tim G. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 21, 2025

**What do you like best about Roam?**

I like how close all of our team members feel thanks to it. Easy to talk to people, all minutes recorded, and much more

**What do you dislike about Roam?**

I would like to see a native clickup integration. Also the mobile app could be a bit more powerful.

**What problems is Roam solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Making our team feel close even in a decentralized environment. Recording every single meeting.

 ### 42. Roam to Success

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** May 28, 2025

**What do you like best about Roam?**

Easy and quick navigation. Great sound and video connectivity.

**What do you dislike about Roam?**

I would say the constant updated emails that don’t necessarily have to do with me. But more of the company.

**What problems is Roam solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy access to upper management

 ### 43. Best Virtual Office App I Have Used

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrew S. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 07, 2024

**What do you like best about Roam?**

The visual design of the "Office GUI" is a gamechanger for us. It's so easy to see what is happening across teams and stay connected.

The Roam team rolls out new features regularly - the app is practically bursting with them.

**What do you dislike about Roam?**

My main annoyance with Roam is managing unread notifications on my phone. Not a dealbreaker at all, but since I use the Magic Minutes AI a lot, I get a lot of notifications when the AI transcriptions are ready and so it always looks like I have a bunch of unread messages.

**What problems is Roam solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping our team connected in a better way than Slack, Zoom, Calendly, Otter, etc.

 ### 44. interesting product but have important things to improve

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Facilities Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 20, 2024

**What do you like best about Roam?**

- it is easy to contact colleagues in the same floor

- is easy to download, install and get it working, also it doesn't requires much machine resources

**What do you dislike about Roam?**

-the user expierence is complex and intrusive, when you are in a call, another window pops up in full size and it blocks the visuals.

- has issues when screensharing, it often fails

- chats are not clear and not user friendly

- confusing for contacting colleagues in different floors

**What problems is Roam solving and how is that benefiting you?**

the problem it solves is having a virtual office since this is a remote first company and there are colleagues all over the world, the way it benefits me is that it creates a space where i can interact as if i was in a physical office due its different features

 ### 45. The Difference

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dr. H. | Owner / COO, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 17, 2024

**What do you like best about Roam?**

We have used every remote collaboration tool on the market. Teams, Google Meet, WebEx, GoToMeeting, Amazon Chime, Zoom, Slack, Discord, Signal, iMessage & Facetime. Every one of them failed to help us collaborate in a way that mimic a physical office.

Roam is different. Roam chose an interface that invites collaboration both passively and actively. It allows for subtle connection like waving or knocking on your door. It encourages unique configurations for your virtual office. It makes it feel like you're together in a shared space.

It also have all the features you'd want and expect from a modern office took: persisted chat, whiteboarding, media sharing, A/V conferencing, and more.

Roam's advantage isn't technical. You could objectively get each of the capabilities in other platforms. However, the way in which Roam creates the experience is undeniably unique.

Adoption was easy for our wide ranges of ages and personalities in our company. It came down to how Roam made them FEEL. Roam speaks to what people have been missing about in-person work in a way no one else has been able to capture.

Roam also does an incredible job with onboarding. I didn't have any trouble getting folks started because John M. and Brooke G. were so thoughtful and prepared. Just awesome.

In short easy to use, easy to implement, accessible customer support, never down, awesome features and meaningful integrations.

We use this everyday and retired Slack and Google Meet. Paid for itself in the first month.

**What do you dislike about Roam?**

My dislikes seem superfluous. My team wishes the "Inbox" was more "Slack-like" and video recordings on meetings were easier to start. We are also first movers and have already seen the incredible pace and advancements coming with each weekly release.

**What problems is Roam solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Consolidates our tech stack
Also for more productive interactions
Reduce expenses
Boosted Morale almost immediately

 ### 46. less meetings, better culture and lot more productivity

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** D S. | Co-Founder/CEO, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Roam?**

There are so many things we love about Roam, but the best one is that I have far fewer meetings on my calendar, allowing me to focus on the big picture and building the business. Why? Because on Roam, you see everyone, so you can have 5 to 10-minute chats instead of booking and blocking 30 minutes of your time on the calendar. If you are in a meeting and need someone else to join, just invite them into the room. You can also see if they are available and not busy before you invite them. This saves so much time and significantly enhances decision-making.

**What do you dislike about Roam?**

i love how fast roam is innovating. nothing to dislike and a lot to like

**What problems is Roam solving and how is that benefiting you?**

biggest problem solved: too many meetings on the calendar

 ### 47. BEST remote workforce solution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 10, 2024

**What do you like best about Roam?**

Being able to visualize my entire company in one dashboard - akin to looking at an office building with a bird's eye view. Reduction of meetings and spontaneously meeting people again (as if we were in office). You have all the pros of remote work, but with the benefits of the serendipity of an in-person culture.

Also - the team is amazing, constantly shipping new features. Seamless ease of use.

**What do you dislike about Roam?**

Honestly haven't encountered any issues so far.

**What problems is Roam solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Roam is bringing the benefits of an in-person office culture to a digital environment, and also help reduce the number of meetings that remote companies typically have.

 ### 48. The virtual office of the future is here

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrew S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 09, 2024

**What do you like best about Roam?**

The visual interface - the ability to see your team "in the office" is a subtle, but significant difference between Roam and Slack/Teams.

**What do you dislike about Roam?**

It's still early in the product's development. It has a ton of features already though.
