This is time that should be spent on actual coordination, not configuration. The fix is straightforward: Revizto should support importing clash tests from a standard Excel-based Clash Matrix — a format that virtually every BIM team already uses to define coordination scope. The spreadsheet would define the test name, the two discipline sets being tested, and any relevant parameters. A one-click import would then generate all tests automatically inside the project. This is already an established workflow in tools like Navisworks combined with third-party scripts, so the industry expectation is there. Centered on the model as the basis for collecting communication in one platform, Revizto succeeds at gamifying issue tracking, model review, clash coordination, constructability review, and general collaborative workflows in a visual-forward, lightweight platform. From early integration with the Revizto team, client needs were their primary focus and added feature/tool implementation was lightning fast compared to more pedestrian competitors in the same space. They are driven to compete in an AI-heavy world, as well as stay relevant in a world of open-source vibe-coded custom tools that seem to be around every corner. They stick to a confidently proclaimed purpose of tying different information together across 3D tools, 2D drawing storage tools, for integrations that just work--staying out of weeds where they know their time may be wasted or ineffectual. The tool being lightweight allows for hosting projects of various sizes from small K-12 education renovations, complex mission critical mega projects, and intricate new-build hospital towers while remaining accessible to project field staff and superintendents that aren't always running the most capable hardware on their construction trailer wifi. Our unique relationship with Revizto makes the pricing and ROI a no-brainer, allowing us to cover licensing for trade partners, design teams, clients, vendors, and beyond to make sure everyone can take part in a centralized collaboration workflow to successfully deliver our projects. **What do you dislike about Revizto?** All of the following should be taken with a grain of salt, because Revizto is still one of the most consistent tools out there: it’s simple, has a low barrier to entry, and works across desktop, web, and mobile. That said, in a world where vibe-coding and enterprise-specific or internal tools seem to be on the verge of taking over, it doesn’t feel like Revizto is moving quickly enough. Their 2D tools fall significantly behind the competition, and the roadmap for rolling out features feels long—mostly just to catch up to where others were two years ago. I also see a gap in how Revizto is building out the data analytics side: it looks like it will rely heavily on our team creating custom integrations and dashboards. Some of that is clearly by design, since it allows teams to manipulate and use data as needed, but it still leaves a lot on the customer. I can see Revizto becoming more capable as a Solibri-type tool with powerful analysis capabilities if it were pushed in the right places. The industry needs that from any tool that claims to support constructability reviews and model clash coordination. Since the Premium User Group in 2024, I’ve been pushing the Revizto team to permission out their tool so certain users—likely by company—can view or edit specific portions without affecting others. The current project-wide roles don’t work for mega-projects trying to establish collaborative workflows. More often than not, someone ends up spending too much time QC-ing project appearance and search set settings just to make sure they aren’t edited or removed by others. The seemingly easy answer to those accidentally changing things is to edit the project roles available on your license, but that doesn’t work when you’re trying to maintain standards across an entire company operating across North America and across a variety of project types. At that point, project-specific permissions by company or role becomes the next step. More carefully permissioned and folder-capable tools are now on the roadmap, but again, it feels like it’s taking a long time to get there. Allowing for non-hosted issues also seems like a no-brainer for action items from meetings, or for higher-level project issues that don’t belong on a specific drawing sheet or in a particular area of the model. The web browser experience has become what I’ll bluntly describe as a sandbox for only certain features, and it doesn’t function smoothly or quickly enough to send partners to for reviewing issues (outside of very important license/user/project administrative tools). Again, in an age of vibe-coding, having a lightweight 3D Viewer in the web browser that’s also capable of 2D sheet viewing isn’t just a nice-to-have—it’s necessary to compete. It’s astonishing to me that we’re still forced to have people download the desktop app when it should be possible for project leads to create specific model presets for quick coordination and viewing in the web browser. Because other commonly used tools in the industry have mastered this, we often run into project partners wrongfully using those other tools for coordination, when Revizto needs to be the place where we make decisions based on the model and 2D drawings. More generally, things feel too manual inside Revizto. For folks used to BIM/VDC software, this has never been a major issue, but there should be more in-tool help functionality and more ability to follow and/or prescribe certain workflows or “Preferences” selections depending on which user is in the tool. There are too many items that require constant explanation and training—for example, the Load/Unload Models tool (to make sure people are seeing the right models), making sure your appearance template is locked in the issue tracker to prevent constant load times when moving from issue to issue in 3D, and issues with IFC model element property continuity, to name a few. Lastly, there is little to no oversight for project management to clearly report which version of the model we’re seeing and what workflows are built for clash. Custom company/project-specific matrices built in Excel have become a standard way for us to wrap our heads around clash setup, when it seems like a no-brainer to have a clash-structure matrix that tells you exactly what was included in your latest clash test and from which model (this was reported to Revizto for feedback in 2022 by our team). Overall, the tool leaves these kinds of project standards and visuals up to project leads, when I would hope that standards built in Revizto (Appearances, Search Sets, Clashes) could show quick visuals of what data they’re using for their individual processes—for example, which models are feeding into search sets, which models/elements/search sets feed into a clash, and which search sets/models feed into an appearance template. **What problems is Revizto solving and how is that benefiting you?** With full honesty, Revizto currently falls short of being a true SSOT for project documentation. In my experience, it functions much more as a SSOT for project communication. The challenge is that, with any SSOT, documentation and communication should live together in the same place and move in sync. Right now, the only platforms I’ve seen do that successfully at scale are Autodesk and, maybe, Procore. Because of this gap around storing documentation and supporting documentation versioning and workflows (speaking to the current state only, not the roadmap), Revizto’s biggest advantage versus other tools today is how its issue tracker ties directly into both 3D and 2D, and how readily accessible it is. Compared to competitors, they also don’t split your workflow across separate license bundles and disconnected tools—you stay in one platform for all of it. They also have the most approachable clash detection tool I’ve used, including automation features that many teams don’t take full advantage of. Being able to clash and filter clashes quickly, while keeping a record of clash statuses and updates over the full life of the project, is truly best in class. More broadly, the project-lifecycle approach feels pretty unique in this industry among the tools available to us. Only a handful of platforms seem to do it consistently at scale in a way that can actually be trusted. Finally, the gamification across 2D, 3D, and issue tracking genuinely makes workflows feel easier. It can take a few trainings to get comfortable, but our project partners usually end up loving the simplicity. We’ve convinced multiple trades and design teams that Revizto is a tool they should even use internally, because the experience is customizable enough to fit specific project needs and workflows. ### 8. I think adding that would make the software feel cheap and would feel like a tool that you are adding to "stay trendy". The software itself is already very powerful, we do not need an AI tool to add to any of that. **What do you dislike about Revizto?** The pricing of Revizto has been a great limiting factor for allowing us to implement the software across the whole company. While Revizto also has a ton of incredibly useful tools, it can also be overwhelming for new, non-tech savvy, users. Finding a way to have the option to simplify the tool dashboard for field users vs power users (often tied to VDC) would be incredibly helpful. **What problems is Revizto solving and how is that benefiting you?** Revizto is eliminating the need to have data living in multiple places that can make it difficult to narrow down or define. Having it all live in one place has been incredibly helpful for our VDC leads and project teams. The ability to have unlimited users in the model at once has also eliminated the "information filtering" issue that we often run into. In our projects we work with over 1000 models/project and Revizto has no problem at all running this. And all of this for a price the is very very reasonable! For digital minded people the program is fairly easy to use. You have a loooottt of functionalities - basically you have everything you want from a model coordination software. The costumer support of Revizto is top notch! Our company got assigned a didcated contact person - and the respons is very very fast. Our conclusion is that Revizto is a really nice model coordination software. **What do you dislike about Revizto?** At the moment, one downside is that they only allow Autodesk Forma integration for 2D plans, and basically not for 3D models. This means that every time a new model is published in Forma, you still have to manually upload/push the model to Revizto. It would be really helpful if you could set this up to happen automatically. The biggest flaw for us is that, for non-digital-minded people (like most people on the actual construction site, rather than in the back office), the software isn’t that intuitive. Because Revizto can do so much, and in so many different ways, it becomes hard to use for beginners. As a result, it requires a fairly extensive learning process for them. This way our site managers need to make time to regularly dive deep into the software. In some projects there is just no time for this - what results in the fact that the environment is used way to less. I think this problem could be easily resolved when the software would be a little more intuitive. I would love to be able to put the clash detective or other windows to another monitor and have them float. When I create a new group in clash detective, I wish there were settings to have a prefix per level, since I rename regrouped clashes a lot. I would like the appearance profiler options to be accessible when I am in issue tracker's 3D mode so I don't have to click back to 3D. I think there should be more thought put into how Revizto keeps track of which issue you've been reviewing because, if I need to review 100+ issues, if I accidentally change sorting, or when I click away, it’s very easy for me to look at the list of issues and not know where I left off. I wish there was a function that marks areas that are signed off as such and would indicate clashes or changes that happen after sign-off. It would be sweet to integrate a signoff process directly in Revizto. It would be great to be able to access signed off models by version that was separate from just the versions function. It would be awesome to compare versions of the model in a split-screen view to see what changed. I understand the processing power there would be tough. I think if an issue was created in a 2D sheet, I should be able to add a 3D screenshot to the issue a bit more seamlessly than just taking a screenshot manually and then pasting the image. I wish there was a way to indicate if something was marked as ready for approval but to filter out whether the models associated with the clashes have been updated since the status change. Sometimes I'll check if something has changed, and it may already be changed in Revit, but because the model has not been updated, it's not showing up. So I have to check back on the upload date. I wish I could make issues dependent on each other, like solve 1 first and then it auto changes the status of issue 2. Because sometimes something needs to unblock another in design. I wish I could create a custom sequence of assignee. Often I need 3 or 4 things to happen in an order, so I have to rely on the subs to change the assignee in the correct order. I wish I could customize the temporary move access to be perpetual. I know I can shift-select to align the gizmo, but it's annoying if I need to do it 2000+ times for a project if it's not oriented towards true north. I wish the sheet publishing mechanic were more optimized. The bottleneck does not seem to be the processing speed of the computer or network connectivity, but it still takes my remote machine with 128 GBs of RAM and 800 Mbps upload speed 24 hours to publish 550 sheets. I wish it was easier to publish sheets in chunks so that I can batch select a big set but synchronize them in intervals so that I don't lose progress if the last 1% of sheets has an error or an issue. I wish the comments for the issues were not so buried, if I don't intentionally mark up an issue, it's easy for people to not check the comments for the instructions. **What problems is Revizto solving and how is that benefiting you?** Revizto reliably auto closes resolved issues, democratizes viewpoints for everyone, and makes navigation easier with floor plans. It lacks one feature that BIM 360 Glue has which is the ability to overlay old versions of a specific model onto the current version to see exactly what changed. I wish I could export issues out as a PDF that includes all comments and attachments.
