**What do you like best about Revit?**

Great at 3d and 2d modeling. Can give you a clear visual of what the space looks like and helps you better design it.

**What do you dislike about Revit?**

It is pretty expensive. Once in a great while it crashes but very seldom.

**What problems is Revit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Make it more efficient to layout devices in the space, looking at the space in 3d makes it easier to catch errors.

  ### 4. Autodesk Revit is the next step in building design collaboration amongst disciplines

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Scott R. | Designer & Project Manager, Buildings, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 30, 2021

**What do you like best about Revit?**

The ability to collaborate our mechanical and plumbing designs with the structural, architectural, electrical and civil disciplines in real-time and review the implications of service routing on the structure and the architectural considerations that must be made.

**What do you dislike about Revit?**

For mechanical design, there is a lack of residential duct fittings, register boots, diffusers, etc. and it's obviously geared towards commercial and larger project MEP designs. It would be very helpful if there were residential fittings included in this software.

**Recommendations to others considering Revit:**

The cost, primarily. For engineering firms, you won't be able to use Revit without the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) collection from Autodesk, which runs around $3900 per seat annually. This is a large jump from perpetual licensing or even the lower cost packages like AutoCAD.

**What problems is Revit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Revit allows us to be at the forefront of mechanical design firms by keeping current with the evolution of building design software. Using Revit allows us to bid on more projects, larger projects and more complex projects than firms who only design in 2D systems like AutoCAD.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stefan Z. | IT Resources Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 11, 2022

**What do you like best about Revit?**

Autodesk Revit is a seamlessly powerful 3D design tool with a vast set of tools and plugins, integrating seamlessly with 3D rendering tools as Enscape3D to get VR-ready rendering. Both primary templates are available, metric and imperial. The sketching feature is a great asset, and the temporary dimension displayed around an element controls its placement, which is a great help for a designer. BIM features helps to optimize the design cycle, and allows visualize the end product both for designers and clients.

**What do you dislike about Revit?**

The integrated rendering uses CPU power instead of GPU power, resulting in a loss of overall performance.

**Recommendations to others considering Revit:**

Doing native rendering with Revitrequires a high CPU, so if you are going for it, you better choose an AMD-based platform with high CPU frequency.

**What problems is Revit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Integrating with Enscape3D rendering, Revit allows a best-in-class time to market when getting a project VR ready.

  ### 9. Best BIM implementation Software in AEC industry

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 09, 2022

**What do you like best about Revit?**

The best feature of Revit is that we can model our MEP services with single software i.e. we can model our Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing services in Revit only. Architecture and Structure can also be modeled with utmost accuracy.

There are many other features like worksharing and colaboration with the help of which multiple team member can work on a same project in real time. One can also check clashes with interference check.
We can set routing preference for diffrent services as per their specifications and Revit will take the specified elements as set in routing preference.

**What do you dislike about Revit?**

I have been using Revit since last four year, I haven't found any major issue with this software except it takes a lots of time while loading heavy files. This is common issues with any software. So this is not a problem.

**What problems is Revit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am using Revit for 3D modeling of HVAC and Plumbing services. With the help of this we can easily export our 3D model in different format like DWG and NWC which can be appended in Navisworks for clash detection for coordination with other trades.
This have help to save time and money by eliminating the reworks on site.

  ### 10. Easy to use & a complete package

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Muhammad K. | Structural Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 21, 2022

**What do you like best about Revit?**

The best thing about Autodesk Revit is, it is all in one program. You can make 3d models, render, calculate quantities and you can use plugins to run the analysis & design model.

**What do you dislike about Revit?**

The only disadvantage that I found is the monthly fee. It's a little bit too high. Also, Autodesk Revit requires a high system configuration to run smoothly. Otherwise, it will lag.

**What problems is Revit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Revit makes it easier for us to visualize any building or house before it's even constructed. Which is helpful to satisfy the client. Another tool that is helping is clash detection. You can detect any clash that is happening within your model.

  ### 11. Road to 3D transformation

First of all stating scree to the user-friendly tool, everything is awesome. Project file storage is an awesome feature likes, level-wise, scope box-wise, callout-wise, etc.

**What do you dislike about Revit?**

Sometimes, Revit closed without giving early notification. Sometimes, it was not synchronization for any reason.

**Recommendations to others considering Revit:**

For not only architecture but also MEP BIM work, it is the most delightful software.

**What problems is Revit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Project Browser tool of Revit creates a different legacy. It helps to set up projects step-wise. The sheet setup feature is very much a delight when looking at every work in the proper sheet.

  ### 12. Revit has revolutionized how we design and complete documents for a project.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Davielle P. | Building and Information Technology Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 19, 2020

**What do you like best about Revit?**

I love that Revit works in both 2D and 3D! Also, I love the user friendly interface; Revit is the Apple of computer aided drawing for architects and engineers.

**What do you dislike about Revit?**

I dislike some of the restrictions of drawing in the program but that is fixed by allowing imports from other programs such as Google Sketch-up. The compatibility Revit has with other programs eliminates most of the dislikes I have. No complaints here!

**Recommendations to others considering Revit:**

When looking at Revit, think of the support community, the ease of use, and the integration of linked models from consultants. It is very easy to share files and to pull in drawings from other software such as Auto-CAD dwg files, Google Sketch-up, Rhino 3D and more! Also, the renderings produced are high quality!

**What problems is Revit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Design practicality and comprehensiveness. Additional benefits are with the different plug ins such as Dynamo and Enscape. With the different scripts we've created and added into the program, we save a ton of time on repetitive work and elementary tasks.

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Revit?**

Unlike AutoCAD, Revit read all the parts together. So you can edit one part and all the plans, elevations, and sections automatically update for you.

**What do you dislike about Revit?**

Sometimes Revit is too smart that it's hard to do some easy tasks. It's also hard to keep a Revit file clean without errors.

**What problems is Revit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Revit saves a lot of documentation time and improves productivity.

  ### 16. Revit for Electrical Engineers

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ettore S. | Electrical Designer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 26, 2021

**What do you like best about Revit?**

It is a collaborative tool which makes it easier for different disciplines to coordinate the design together. Revit also has integration with other software such as Bluebeam and Revizto.

**What do you dislike about Revit?**

Revit can take quite a bit of time to load if there are many models linked, and it can crash unexpectedly from time to time. The schedules are not very user-friendly and do not allow for a lot of customization.

**Recommendations to others considering Revit:**

It is best to start working on a project with Revit and learn as you go; in my opinion taking a course in Revit can be quite abstract if you are not actively using the software.

**What problems is Revit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mostly 3D coordination with different disciplines. Revit allows us to export our model into Revizto and Bluebeam, and we can use different software for clash detection.

  ### 17. Best BIM tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John P. | Mechanical engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Revit?**

I really enjoyed the quality of detailing, it is actually upto standard , you can view your model from any angle and this made all our 3D models for structures to be very accurate and precise because you would be seeing everything as it will be in the real world.

It allows BIM collaborations which I find being the best and mindful feature on this software because it saves time just by allowing multiple team members to work on a project simultaneously, work is done more faster and I have seen that my co-workers contributed a lot of ideas to a project just because all of their minds were focused on one thing and also the risk of errors was reduced
The fact that we could work together simultaneously on the same project helped to cut costs, save time and also detect conflicts before construction happens on-site

Their support team offer quality support advice which helped us to learn more features about the software even before we started using it

When it comes to 3D modeling I really prefer Revit be you can incorporate designs created in AutoCad with a Revit Project

**What do you dislike about Revit?**

It requires High performing machines which makes it a software for big companies

**Recommendations to others considering Revit:**

I really recommend Revit to large sized companies and also companies that are financially stable because it can be a bit costy

**What problems is Revit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a civil engineer i have been using Revit to create 3D models for structures that were yet to be built and to calculate the budget cost and time needed to complete the whole project

  ### 18. Directing you in the new era of design

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gaurav P. | Process Associate, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 10, 2022

**What do you like best about Revit?**

there are so many features to create discrete structures architectures are used mainly but many times I have created some building structures as well as electrical components it helps a lot construct them very easily.

**What do you dislike about Revit?**

There are few tools and I am unaware that I can't properly use them this is the only thing I don't like. Otherwise, everything is arranged in a very effective manner you don't have any problem while using them.

**Recommendations to others considering Revit:**

I strongly recommend them to use it.

**What problems is Revit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

There are so many complicated building and infrastructure pipelines designed with the help of this software I am also using this for a few electrical circuits that are closed and compact.

  ### 19. Revit a best software for BIM and clash detection

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ahmed A. | BIM Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 05, 2022

**What do you like best about Revit?**

Revit is one of the best BIM and 3D software in the construction industry; developing drawings and 3d models accurately and integrating them with other clash detecting tools has significantly impacted the construction industry. Its integration with other software such as BIMcollab , pathfinder pyro sim is also accurate

**What do you dislike about Revit?**

The cost of the software is slightly high.

**Recommendations to others considering Revit:**

I would recommend BIM Engineers to use revit.

**What problems is Revit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Make architectural and structural drawing accurately with 3d models and integrating it with other software such as naviswork, pyro sim, and pathfinder

  ### 20. A work in progress

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jason R. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 05, 2020

**What do you like best about Revit?**

Revit is good for coordinating between disciplines and other consultants. Revit is good for global changes and building schedules.

**What do you dislike about Revit?**

Revit is still slow compared to AutoCAD for getting the job done. The view range / filter / visibility graphics can be pretty frustrating at times. Revit is difficult to teach to others (the visibility settings and checking the 10 reasons why something isn't showing up, for example).

**What problems is Revit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Clash detection helps at times, but it's easy to get too far into the weeds and realize that not everything can be perfect.

  ### 21. It is a great modeling software

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Carolina A. | Technical Operator (Modeler), Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 12, 2022

**What do you like best about Revit?**

The tools are very well adapted to disciplines such as architecture and MEP.
Collaboration in the cloud is the best aspect of revit since it is simple and efficient

**What do you dislike about Revit?**

It does not have many facilities to make free forms or custom elements. Also, the structural version is not as complete as other software in the market. I would like to have a tool for the steel without the necessity to install a plug-in

**Recommendations to others considering Revit:**

Try it out, and you will understand why everyone loves it

**What problems is Revit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

All the architecture models and the MEP is easy to check for interference in the same software without taking the time to export the model and doing it in another software

  ### 22. I Use Revit Every Day

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 15, 2022

**What do you like best about Revit?**

Revit is helpful in being able to fully visualize plans, elevations, sections, and details of a structure so that we can adequately convey our design intent to contractors.

**What do you dislike about Revit?**

Sometimes the interface is a bit tough to deal with and some glitches are hard to work around. However, there are usually good resources online to find answers to questions you may have.

**What problems is Revit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Revit helps me solve the problem of showing designs to clients and having them be able to understand, visually, how their home is going to look. We find much more success with Revit than with AutoCAD.

  ### 23. Revit is an absolute must for the AE industry

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Madeleine C. | Job Captain, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Revit?**

What is most helpful about Revit is that it allows you to work both in 2D and in 3D efficiently and starts assembling other drawings while you are working just on one. It allows you to seamlessly move between views to work on multiple things at once. More upsides include its ability to import other file types and work off of them, such as PDFs or AutoCAD files. It also easily integrates with many rendering software types, such as Lumion and Enscape. This is extremely valuable in creating quick vignettes to share with the client on how the project design looks.

**What do you dislike about Revit?**

Revit has a little bit of a learning curve, but once you get past that, it is straightforward to use. There are also a handful of macros you can learn and customize. I feel as though I am constantly learning new things about this software.

**Recommendations to others considering Revit:**

If you are considering making the switch to Revit, particularly from AutoCAD, I cannot recommend it enough. It makes rendering a breeze and has numerous plugins that can do your work for you. It makes construction drawings extremely easy and is much more efficient than a 2D-only software.

**What problems is Revit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Compared to other software, Revit does AE design better and faster. It has Cloud integration to share your model with other companies and work in the same model simultaneously. It also easily prints to the PDF software we use, Bluebeam, which allows us to easily mark-up the drawings after the fact for quick mockup PDFs.

  ### 24. To share overview & ideas of revit softwere.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Harshada M. | Trainne BIM Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

Revit is the best building design software. Also, best for 3D modeling. It is most convenient to use . To make different types of families For me. it is superior than anything else out there. It has good rendering quality.

**What do you dislike about Revit?**

remembering every command in revit is to difficult. if more file like revit file , pdf file, autocad file link then softwere does not work properly. it is hard to learn because it is vast softwere.

**Recommendations to others considering Revit:**

It is best softwere for BIM Industry . for 2d and 3d modelling , parametric and non prametric family making , rendering of every model to see real view of future constructed building.

**What problems is Revit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This softwere is more data intensive due to that its more useful for big projects. This softwere mostly useful for parametric modelling. Coordination of different types of model like architecture , structure , MEP , Fire protection . also it is useful for scheduling of quantities.

  ### 25. The most accurate and efficient way to develop construction documents

**Reviewed by:** Jake W. | Principal, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 18, 2022

**What do you like best about Revit?**

Inherently, developing construction drawings in Revit in 3D means complete accuracy across all drawings.

**What do you dislike about Revit?**

Revit can be cumbersome when dealing with uniquely designed structures, but there is almost always a workaround.

**Recommendations to others considering Revit:**

Revit is a powerful software and inherently the learning curve can be steep for some, but take challenges one step at a time, research solutions, implement, and keep moving.

**What problems is Revit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Revit helps us efficiently and accurately create construction drawings for custom residences, especially when making drastic changes to projects late in the process.

The best features in revit the scheduling materials of building model and easy to model 3d element and you can linked the building model files with other tools like robot and navisworks.

**What do you dislike about Revit?**

There was some features were not clear to used it like import cad file to revit some time getting some error in import and also the rendering in revit was not acceptable if we compare with another programs

**Recommendations to others considering Revit:**

Revit is the best program for BIM modeling if you are civil engineering or architectural engineering you can go with revit you can linked ot with another program to complete your work it is really the best tools in modeling

**What problems is Revit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Many problem solved by revit like section profile for buildings these could adjust and add some features on elements then the profile section will change automatically these features represent by BIM modeling it can save your time work.

  ### 28. It is clear that future of BIM is closely tight to the Revit.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Avdija H. | Design Manager and BIM Coordinator , Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Revit?**

Speed and interoperability are the key qualities. It has a huge library for all project participants including Architectural Engineers, STR Engineers and MEP Engineers.

**What do you dislike about Revit?**

The only thing I don't like is that files can be very huge and you need a strong computer to work normally. License is kinda expensive as well, it is the main downside.

**What problems is Revit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is a great tool for analysis and coordination. Not to mention how useful the Revit model can be when using it with Autodesk viewer. Client's love it, because all you need to walkthrough project is google and internet connection.

  ### 29. Revit in Landscape Architecture

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matt B. | Landscape Architect, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 23, 2021

**What do you like best about Revit?**

Revit makes collaboration with other consultants and team members an easier part of the design process. Pairing Revit with BIM Collaborate Pro takes it even a step further for seamless collaboration.

**What do you dislike about Revit?**

In the field of landscape architecture, we don't work on traditional levels as architects do. Revit is very much designed for architecture and must be adapted for landscape architecture. (It's possible... the program simply isn't designed for it)

**What problems is Revit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Collaboration with consultants on fast paced projects is a major benefit. Ability to have linear workflow in modeling and documentation throughout the project is a HUGE benefit. (As opposed to sketchup models that must be thrown away.) Pairing modeling with rendering softwares is also seamless.

  ### 30. One of the most essential tool for digital construction

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** sandeep j. | Executive Engineer , Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 06, 2022

**What do you like best about Revit?**

All features of Revit are fantastic; Its user interface makes it different from its competitors. We can do 3D modeling, coordination, shop drawings, scheduling, quantity take off etc. on Revit.

**What do you dislike about Revit?**

Sometimes using 3rd party app in Revit makes Revit complex in terms of backend task execution in the software. So if we can inherit those 3rd party apps themselves in Revit, could solve the problem.

**What problems is Revit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am using Revit daily for creating 3D models of MEP elements and creating Revit families for modeling perspective. Revit is also being used for interservice clash coordination, scheduling, quantity take-off, shop drawing creation etc.

  ### 33. Best architecture software I've tried

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tania M. | Design Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2021

**What do you like best about Revit?**

It simplifies the process of drafting, and 3d modeling in a way that's amazing, plus the features it has are endless.
One of the greatest pros for me is the fact that you're working in different views at the time. For example, you add a wall on the first level plan, and then you can see the same wall in a 3d view and any elevations without the need of drawing it in each one of them. You can have a section, or as many as you want, of any building in seconds just by using the section tool.
You can enter information about any material/object you use in a project and then get cost analysis/other data by doing so.
In some places, it is mandatory for the public sector projects to use BIM software, and working with a team is definitely easier, as many people can work on the same file and then update it without interefering with somenone elses work.
When you're starting to learn and adapt to the software it is useful that you can customize some small but essential things in its platform such as adding and modifying keyboard shortcuts for any command in a way that's more comfortable for you to work.
You can save templates so any time you start a project you'll have the same text font, arrow style, layouts, etc.
And last but not least, you can download a lot of objects such as doors and windows from the companies that manufacture them, materials and products/furniture as families which containg information about them. You can also make renders in it.
I would highly recommend to start migrating and practicing with small projects to get used to it, but I'm sure Revit is the future and I guarantee it will make your job faster and easier.

**What do you dislike about Revit?**

The cost of the software is a little high in my opinion, I think that could be a reason as for why it is not as popular as other softwares that architects and engineers have been using for a while, I've heard it hasn't had a big demand, which is a bummer since it is great.
At least in my city, I still can't find many places where they use Revit as they're main design software but I know it is just a problem of staying in the comfort zone instead of getting updated.

**Recommendations to others considering Revit:**

I'd highly recommend taking a Revit course or watch youtube tutorials to get familiar with it and practice with a small project, explore it's features ; I heard it takes around 15-20 hours to learn most of the basics.

**What problems is Revit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm making faster architectural plans than I ever dreamed of and that is giving me more time for myself and making my work much easier and relaxed in a way.
I also love it that when you're working on a project in it and have some element that shouldn't be some way it tells you something's wrong with what you're doing, which is somehting that would probably go unnoticed in other drafting software as they usually don't analyze what you're doing as this software does.

  ### 34. Best 3D modeling experience for various trades

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vidya S. | Executive Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about Revit?**

In this software, one thing I like the most is its interface which enables all noobies in BIM Industry to create 3D model asper design files.

**What do you dislike about Revit?**

Overall revit ia very good in 3D modeling. But there should be a separate tab for design field, so that if we found any discrepancy in design drawing then we can calculate the size, length, area, etc aspects to reduce modeling error.

**Recommendations to others considering Revit:**

If anyone wants to pursue career in BIM Industry then he/she should start with 3D modeling of various trades. So revit is best software in BIM Industry to start 3D modeling and clearing all the concepts.

**What problems is Revit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

By using Revit software, I can easily trace the 3D model asper shown in 2D design documents. It can easily compatible with other softwares like Navisworks, autocad, dynamo.

  ### 35. Best for BIM

**What do you like best about Revit?**

The Revit is software has an ocean of options for building information modeling, and it can be used for parametric design too while integrating with Autodesk Dynamo

**What do you dislike about Revit?**

The only thing I don't like in Revit is the quality of rendering, and it has more options, but the render process needs to be simplified and user-friendly. Currently, for render, those things push us to use some external softwares.

**What problems is Revit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The Revit is the best software for all kinds of Building information modeling, and it can be effectively used for structural analysis too while integrating with Autodesk Robot.

  ### 36. Ultimate Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 01, 2017

**What do you like best about Revit?**

I like that this program is always evolving to meet the user's needs. The programmers seem to continue to change and modify small details to make it more efficient and user-friendly. i have utilized other programs to accomplish the same task of generating construction documents, and they are not nearly as user-friendly or intuitive. The support groups for this product are always great as well. Creating different shapes and modifying families isn't as difficult as it used to be and there are more options for controlling the views.

**What do you dislike about Revit?**

There is a forum entitled something like, "360 reasons why I cannot find my chair" meaning that because of the flexibility sometimes things get lost/won't show because there are too many options. As time goes on, the user groups have helped narrow these reasons and options a bit and have become more user friendly and less programmer like.

**Recommendations to others considering Revit:**

This is the most user friendly and all inclusive program for this industry.

**What problems is Revit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Use of time is far greater than on any other project. There is great integration amongst ourselves for workflow, but also our consultants and engineers. We can use clash detection to fin where there will be problems and also where we can afford to utilize space differently. With the advent of BIM360/Cloud Model Share that they have now - this usage is seamless, and the tracking is great. it is hard not to have every project cloud-based because it is simpler for all users.
