  ### 3. Revit : A revolution in the architectural realm

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 28, 2023

**What do you like best about Revit?**

Revit has been a game changer in my profession helping me handle my projects efficiently with both 2D and 3D user-interface. The BIM technology has been revolutionary in the architectural realm making it easy for the user and faster workflow.

**What do you dislike about Revit?**

Revit is very rigid. Unlike its counterpart, AutoCAD, Revit is not flexible in terms of documentation and faster design changes. The flexibility in 3D modelling is much lesser than hence makes it difficult to bring out complicated ideas

**What problems is Revit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Revit helps me finish my architectural drawings with ease switching between 2D and 3D simultaneously. Helpful in imagining my design in 3D easily and seamless integration with 3rd party softwares.

  ### 4. Comprehensive Collaboration of Architects and Engineers : Revit Architecture

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Civil Engineering | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 30, 2023

**What do you like best about Revit?**

The most beneficial aspect of Revit is a BIM or Building Information Modeling software. It allows me to access all the files in the system with BIM 360 and other Autodesk applications without compatibility issues. As an engineer, Revit will enable me to create and model however I want to due to its numerous functionalities and critical features. The user-friendly interface also allows access to customize the UI according to my preference. From the construction perspective, Revit will enable me to collaborate with designers from various trades, such as structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP), by performing clash detections on the 3D model. Changes and revisions can be easily accommodated for markups and combined within a real-time model, making coordination within the project team much smoother.

**What do you dislike about Revit?**

Due to its almost limitless capabilities in producing 3D models and their corresponding functions, the vast space it occupies results in more significant storage consumption. The (.rvt) files it saves also take much room for a single file it creates after generating a 3D Model. Also, during the rendering of drawings, it needs much higher computer specifications, performance, and RAM capacity to function smoothly and efficiently.

**What problems is Revit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The design industry is benefitting the most from this BIM 3D Modelling software. There has been previous 3D Modelling software in the market. However, the ability of Revit to upload the file into the cloud and make it accessible through BIM compatibility makes the coordination between multiple trades much more accessible. Revit clash detection is also helpful for me as a consultant, for errors and inaccuracies during clash detections can be quickly identified and resolved by simultaneously incorporating the changes in real-time. Numerous functions with a simple interface enhance my capabilities to create and be inspired to do more and explore other trades outside my forte, such as MEP and Architectural, which are also accessible in Revit.

  ### 5. A great tool for the construction industry.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amul P. | BIM Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Revit?**

Revit is by far the best product ever produced by Autdodesk.
The best part about this software is that its usage is not limited to one particular type of job, It is used by Engineers, Designers, Architects, and contractors. It is a complete package that enables users to convert their Design Drawings into 3D models and then produce shop drawings using its annotation features. Also, various information related to the various elements that will be utilized on-site can be stored in the model for later use.
You can probably link almost every type of file format be it Navisworks exports, .RCP formats for point cloud, be it design drawings CAD files from AutoCad and the cheery on top, it even lets you link the PDF to the model.

With the introduction of BIM technology, the use of Revit has become a primary need in the construction sector. Revit is a complete package that helps design, construct and estimate the lifecycle of the building.

**What do you dislike about Revit?**

Although Revit is a complete package wih wide range of utilitites it still has few scopes of improvement. For starters the most basic problem that we face is of not being able to open a older model in a newer version of Revit, the upgrade option is
not much reliable either as there are various sideeffects that comes with upgrading model (losing data is one of them).

**What problems is Revit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being a MEP Engineer i have worked on various Software and out of all Revit has so far solved all of the issues, the major issues that we used to face was, linking the models from clients that they would produce on different specific softwares, but with the use of Revit it became quiet easy for us.

Another thing that Revit helps us with is Worksharing. This has made a signifact impact on our deliveris. Various teams can now work together at the same time in the same file, so as to accomplish the task even faster.

**What do you dislike about Revit?**

Importing images and not being able to edit them can be frustrating. You can not change an image to have a transparent background once imported and I feel like that could be something easy to implement.

**What problems is Revit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Coordinating with 3D models is extremely helpful across disciplines. Whether it be mechanical ducts or architectural features, Revit helps us locate our structure for an efficient design.

  ### 32. How Revit made my life easier!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emmanuel S. | Project Engineer, Commercial Real Estate, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 10, 2022

**What do you like best about Revit?**

Revit is an amazing designing tool for creating both architectural and structural models/plans in 2D and 3D. It is very easy to learn, and has a lot of functions to implement.

**What do you dislike about Revit?**

One thing I dislike about Revit is that the blocks downloaded externally are not always compatible due to mismatch in the versions of Revit and the blocks. Sometimes, even if the versions match, the blocks still won't open. This may be something that can be addressed.

**What problems is Revit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can now deliver 3-D blueprints with renders to my clients instead of just plain 2-D. This makes it much easier for me and my clients to visualise their projects.

  ### 33. As a Bim Coordinator

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eng.r Muhammad Awais W. | BIM Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 19, 2022

**What do you like best about Revit?**

Fast and Rapid work and I also enjoy working as a bim coordinator, knowing the site condition, and running a site parallel to planning. This software is incredible for execution,

**What do you dislike about Revit?**

Still yet I'm not facing any issues to dislike this software because lack of instructor we had faced these issues

**What problems is Revit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

yes revit software is great to resolved issues it's seems like you are executing on site sitting in side the office and resolution the predicted issues without prediction.

  ### 34. From Base to Smart Construction

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Urvi S. | Co-Team Leader : Survey, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 09, 2022

**What do you like best about Revit?**

From time to time support from Autodesk likes the most because it is reducing bugs or any other related problems. Automatic schedule creation on the bases of the family used in the project.

**What do you dislike about Revit?**

Inter-discipline clash detection is not that level the same as Naviswork. Sometimes, it was hanging due to low internet. So if the company works on that when there is low internet, it will beneficial to many companies which depend on Revit.

**Recommendations to others considering Revit:**

Not Only for MEP, Structure, Civil or Architecture but also useful for BIM works.

**What problems is Revit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As mentioned in the likes part of Revit, there is two way of scheduling. One from automatic scheduling and the other from excel. Also, Cad import and link features are best because sometimes there is an architectural Revit at that time for civil, structure and MEP work done on cad link.

  ### 35. This is what you need

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jayant C. | Assistant Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Revit?**

Revit is the most useful tool to prepare a 3d model with the lot of information. It gives you the accessibility to learn about it's features via learning portal. They also have the most efficient support staff too.

**What do you dislike about Revit?**

Automation features have there limitations. Some of the features requires a lot of RAM which ultimately fatals the file.
It doesn't give the reason why it fatals. so that i future you won't repeat it again.

**What problems is Revit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helped us to recreate an excat twin of the building. Using it in MEP sevices we got an idea of the BOQ and the clashes that might have affects the project overall.

  ### 36. Revit is an indispensable tool for Architects

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Swapnil M. | IT, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 26, 2022

**What do you like best about Revit?**

Easy to learn, robust, fast and incorporates all the data in a model into sheets or as BIM files. It also seamlessly connects with BIM360 to make collaboration possible on larger projects.

**What do you dislike about Revit?**

This is still a developing software and although it is robust, it still needs a lot of extra tools to expand the capabilities as well as make it multithreaded for most of the tasks. The only factor slowing down the software is that it just runs on a single core for most of the tasks.

**What problems is Revit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Revit is helping our team keep all the data on a model in one place all together. We can all work on various aspects of design, documentation and construction in one software program and everything is reflected across the whole model.

  ### 37. New era of drafting tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** manish c. | Structural Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 02, 2022

**What do you like best about Revit?**

the best quality of Revit is I can modify the model from both 3d and 2d prespective. along with it, landscaping design is easy, convenient and much effective. Revit provide so many ittel things that i can add in land scape model which makes it more attractive.

**What do you dislike about Revit?**

Apart from its all quality, I find it a little bit difficult to use. designing and modeling interiors in perspective are much more difficult and it needs keen attention, learning and practice.

**What problems is Revit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

like all the other software Revit also provides the library to use inbuilt components but unlike others, I can modify that component and also add the component that I will be needed in the future.

  ### 38. Realistic Design

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yas G. | Mr., Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about Revit?**

Designing MEP Work is very useful and realistic for contractors and owners. Interdispline work collaboration help to find clashes. A user-friendly interface attracts the working sense.

**What do you dislike about Revit?**

Sometimes, when working files store more data than it is hanging. Sometimes, without any prior notice, it was shut down without any recovery. Improvement is required in recovery tools and creating the type of system either for plumbing or mechanical without basis of an internal system like supply air, return air and outside air, domestic water, sanitary and vent respectively.

**Recommendations to others considering Revit:**

If you want actual work then using Revit will increase mind sense ability as well.

**What problems is Revit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am solving mechanical ventilation and air balance in resident and non-resident spaces using different ductwork and their system. Also, I provide the schedules and deep details of construction using Revit.

  ### 39. Transforming into virtual 3D world

**Reviewed Date:** June 29, 2022

**What do you like best about Revit?**

In Revit, the best part is their adaptability and ease of use. Revit has developed a lot over the years and currently provides the best platform for BIM users while establishing a good base where you can connect to other softwares too.

**What do you dislike about Revit?**

The cost obviously, its been a problem for a long time for developing nations, also the way they treat developing nations by setting up a weak distribution network providing support to monopolous activities in the region.

**Recommendations to others considering Revit:**

Check for Autodesk Suite rather than standalone version

**What problems is Revit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Revit is like a revolutionary tool in the current AEC Industry by transforming all the building elements in 3D and then detecting all the future problems that would arise over time and fixing them before hand using mutliple allied tools.

  ### 40. Solid piece of BIM authoring tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ivo P. | BIM Coordinator & Information Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 21, 2022

**What do you like best about Revit?**

The ability to build detailed 3D digital versions of the building and imbed large amount of metadata. The API is accesible through Dynamo and users can automate a lot processes.

**What do you dislike about Revit?**

Not everything is abailable from the out-of-the-box tools and third-party plugins are required. Stair building tool is poor and makes creating good multi-storey stair impossible.

**What problems is Revit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Revit provides sigle-source-of-truth models. I like that we can have the geometrical, graphical and the metadata models all in one place. Make the use of multiple software redundant.

  ### 41. Wonderful software for Construction industry, BIM industry

The community could be better & the documentation could be increased

**What problems is Revit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Major problem like planning designing is solved

  ### 43. It is very comprehensive and relatively easy to learn.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vinamra K. | BIM Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 06, 2022

**What do you like best about Revit?**

Collaborative, and comprehensive, Every discipline can simultaneously be modeled on a single project, customizable, very user-friendly and universal BIM tool. Addins are very convenient and they increase collaborative options, scan to BIM and point cloud modeling is very easy on Revit, I learnt enough in two weeks to setup my own projects and prepare shop drawings. relatively simple work-flow from Auto-cad and much more options than Auto-cad

**What do you dislike about Revit?**

Dynamo is very software-specific like we can't use WPS office docs only Microsoft docs, No automatic saving feature while keeping the undo sequence intact, There is no option for editing the locked constraints on pipes and ducts, in case of a display failure or any error automatic saving is not available, dynamo cannot update locked constrain values. clash detection features are not as potent as navisworks

**Recommendations to others considering Revit:**

Definitely utilize the cloud features that come with BIM 360 such as Autodesk construction cloud and BIM 360 Glue.
from IFC generation to 3d modeling to shop drawing generation every step can be in one place, no need to use any other software.

**What problems is Revit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It makes BIM collaboration very easy, the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, architecture, structure and infrastructure teams can simultaneously work on a single model and project, which makes the project coordination very efficient.
The Revit families and in-place families are very handy and customizable tools, it is very helpful in point cloud modeling and scan to bim projects.
The various formats in which the models and sheets can be exported are very helpful and accessible, anyone from design engineers to site technicians everyone can access them.
Revit is perfect for making shop drawings and updating them with respect to site requirements is very easy and quick.

  ### 44. When I selectively choose to use Revit

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Osbert D. | Architect/BIM Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 31, 2022

**What do you like best about Revit?**

The efficiency at which modelling MEP services is executed once understood. Great at generating schedules, mechanical calculations and the readily available MEP family components from various suppliers. Have been using Revit since version 8 mainly for architectural purposes but switched to archicad. Now my use of Revit is mainly for structural modelling and MEP. These are exported as IFCs and reintegrated into ArchiCAD.

**What do you dislike about Revit?**

1) Can't handle extra small details (mainly imported autocad details having small lines 1/32" long). Tend to generate annoying errors.
2) No option to have a perpetual license and the cost of the subscription on yearly basis is not feasible in small markets.
3) Too rigid when attempting to make revisions to ac ducts, or pipes or generally attempting to change levels of any MEP routings.
4) Too hardware resource-heavy; especially for models over 2.5GBs (mostly felt with plumbing)

**What problems is Revit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Real-time coordination that allows for primitive adjustments before site execution. These benefits are realised from the reduced site errors and the accuracy of budget estimating.

  ### 45. Revit is very good capability to work with multi discipline

2. REVIT ALSO LETS YOU DO THE ANALYSIS AND SIMULATE THE MODEL YOU PREPARE
3. REVIT CAN ALSO USED DURING FABRICATION MODELLING.
4. THE MOST USED APPLICATION IN BIM INDUSTRY IS SAID TO BE UNDENIABLY REVIT.

**What do you dislike about Revit?**

1. HIGH NUMBER OF SETTINGS BEFORE STARTING MODELLING.
2. FATAL ERROR OCURRING SOMETIMES.
3. HIGH WARNING ISSUES AT EVERY STEP.

**What problems is Revit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

REVIT IS SOLVING THE MODELLING-RELATED ISSUE BY DEVELOPING ADD-INS WHICH MAKES THE EASE FOR US TO DO IT IN A SHORT SPAN OF TIME. IT IS ALSO DEVELOPING HIGH USER-FRIENDLY INFORMATION BALLOONS WHICH HELPS TO DO TASK EASILY.

  ### 47. Revit an excellent alternative of Autocad

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 21, 2021

**What do you like best about Revit?**

Most helpful function of revit is to creat parametric families and interface of different services.
The upsides point of revit is easy merging and coordination of all architecture structure MEP services.

**What do you dislike about Revit?**

The thing which I dislike about revit is to creat adaptive families

**What problems is Revit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are executing BIM project to help in construction through revit. In which we are performing modeling works for various services, creating families.

  ### 49. Very Good modeling software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mradul A. | Deputy Manager, Automotive, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Revit?**

Revit is a software which can be adapt by any individual easily, so we can say it's a user friendly software. Basically it is the backbone of most modern Building Information Modelling (BIM) workflows for building design, construction and owner data. We can co-ordinate our services with other trades easily in this revit software.

**What do you dislike about Revit?**

Most Revit users plans to build their separate building models and they need a correct part list to estimate their costs. But the problem face by many users is regarding its price, it's price is comparatively higher than user thinks.
Second think is that the model which generally made on revit is not the actual visualization what we need in the real world.

**Recommendations to others considering Revit:**

I will 100% recommend this software if we compare it with other software because it is a parametric software which helps us to understand the tasks itself.

**What problems is Revit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As we do models on revit software so it helps us to check self clashes by using the function interference check. If we talk about the benefits then it is time saving and time reducing we can provide shop drawings sheets easily by using this software after having the clash co-ordination.
