What do you like best about Requirements & Systems Portal?

One of the best things is that you can make changes and see how they affect the rest of the design, assuming Valispace is set up correctly, in real time. I also am a fan of the requirements history view, allowing us to see how requirements have changed over time and who changed them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Requirements & Systems Portal?

The tool itself feels very rigid and not super customizable. Some aspects, such as budgets, that the tool claims to be able to do are not as simple as they should be, for example there is no such thing as nested mode lists. Additionally, there are some basic systems engineering tools, such as reliability analysis, which would fit really well into the tool. The connections view, either between requirements or components, is also very difficult to use and does not provide nearly as much value as something like that could be. Finally, there is no great way to do functional diagrams that we have found in Valispace, which are super necessary for MBSE, which is one of the things we are trying to do with Valispace. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Requirements & Systems Portal solving and how is that benefiting you?

It's main purpose for us is a requirements management tool. Before Valisapce we were tracking our requirements in Excel, which is generally a worse tool for viewing requirements history and tracking what is going on with the design Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Requirements & Systems Portal?

It is great that as soon as a parameter value is updated, the calculations re-run without the need to trigger them manually. Plus, there are a lot of materials available online on how to do different things in Valispace and the examples are very useful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Requirements & Systems Portal?

So far it seems that the most developed views are tables, the graphs viewpoints for instance could be more interactive, not just for visualization. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Requirements & Systems Portal solving and how is that benefiting you?

Valispace eases up the process of creating group projects, all the members have access to the latest information. In addition to this, the fact that reports can be created through Valispace is a great benefit. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Requirements & Systems Portal?

Pros:

- Online training staff were helpful & engaged. Recordings of custom training sessions were made available.

- Inexpensive implementation options for smaller institutions

- Helpful examples & tutorials online

- Includes not just requirements tracking & linking, but also options for analyses, automated report generation, and links between requirements verification and test as-run procedures. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Requirements & Systems Portal?

Cons:

- No real-time support available (ie, a chat). Submitting a question online results in an answer next business day.

- Some features our team would find useful are not available (capability to edit markup language, clear linking between relevant comment and text in Analysis blocks, receiving notifications for new comments only, custom ordering of components) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Requirements & Systems Portal solving and how is that benefiting you?

We are a small team developing an experiment that requires coordination between many different researchers. ValiSpace provides a good balance between our budget and requirements. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Requirements & Systems Portal?

The best part about Valispace is the Open and well documented API!

We track all our Requirements with Valispace. The GUI is pretty good and improving everytime. However some things are a little difficult to do in a GUI at all (Like Batch processing many Requirements, Synchronizing Valispace with exel sheets or checking Requirements for coustom conditions: e.g. List all Requirements that still mis a children, or only have a spesific set of other requirements as children etc.) In such cases, the Open API and Python Library allow to write a custom Script to do whatever you like.

I also like that Valispace is "Alive" so you see constant progress and Featuer updates. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Requirements & Systems Portal?

Somtimes the GUI is a little bit slow, However ther is allways progress and the performance is increasing! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Requirements & Systems Portal solving and how is that benefiting you?

Keep Track of all our requirements. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Requirements & Systems Portal?

The scope is nice, a lot of functionalities combined in one tool Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Requirements & Systems Portal?

Valispace is very confusing and the familiarization with the tool is not intuitive. The available Youtube tutorials are good for marketing, but you don't learn how to actually use the tool.

The creation/editing of tools is so complicated that we decided not to use the tool for this part anymore.

The Valispace administration is really not clear. Just creating a new user takes a lot of time, because it is not intuitive at all. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Requirements & Systems Portal solving and how is that benefiting you?

We use Valispace to suWe collect all the requirements for our system in Valispace. From technical requirements to normative requirements for approval. However, no one at our company really knows how we then deal with these requirements. Here, too, there is a lack of clarity Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Requirements & Systems Portal?

Your engagement with us. The valis. Simple and flexible interface. Quick to load, create content and make changes. Openness to integrating with other tools. It is helping us get started. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Requirements & Systems Portal?

Lacks the governance control, configuration and change control features we need for formal development in a highly regulated industry. We would like to store other types of information in the tool and create different types of relationship/link between them, for example functional models, failure models and their related requirements - the MBSE-textual requirements link features are limited. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Requirements & Systems Portal solving and how is that benefiting you?

Allowing us to quickly get started with requirements and key design parameters. Allowing us to iterate quickly. Creating a single source of truth, visible to all, outside of spreadsheets. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Requirements & Systems Portal?

Valispace provides an integrated approach to the modelling of a product's components and architecture in relation to the requirements. This allows for a high degree of traceability, and therefore efficient product development. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Requirements & Systems Portal?

Although the concept is far ahead of the competition, the tool could be improved in terms of lifecycle and maturity management. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Requirements & Systems Portal solving and how is that benefiting you?

Valispace bridges the gap between the abstract concept of requirements to the tangible product structure, and combines it with a well-structured testing approach. A fully integrated development tool! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Requirements & Systems Portal?

The fact that everything is packed in the same app, and It is constantly updated and visible to everyone.

Also the easy access and User Interface for every user Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Requirements & Systems Portal?

There a lot of bugs that can only be detected by carefully analyzing each data, ad it makes me double or triple check each action. Also I would appreciate a better integration with Word and Excel to be in line with the company's template Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Requirements & Systems Portal solving and how is that benefiting you?

It is making easy to implent and iterate on new projects using a template with the main aspects we use in the project, yet this could be improved further with a database-like option Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

That I can connect requirements with Valis and assign a validation method and keep an eye, I also like very much that I can declare calculations and see interconnections with valis. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Requirements & Systems Portal?

That is the interaction is not instinctive and not obvious. For example, if I cannot do something because of permissions then it doesn't tell me that it is because of that...just the function is blocked... Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Requirements & Systems Portal solving and how is that benefiting you?

Collaborative single source of thruth for requirements. Easy extraction into documents for delivery and easy updates of documents. We are getting there in using it also for engineering parameters and engineering budgets. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
