Remind allows our school and district personnel to communicate with parents and other community members through text messages. I like that the product can auto-translate messages into other languages based upon the end-user's preferred language. I also like that the product enables me to schedule outgoing messages. I wish the product allowed me to schedule messages at the district level. I can currently schedule outgoing messages at the individual schools, but that requires me to copy and paste my content into the platform several times if I want to broadcast district-wide. Remind allows me to contact my students and families without either party having to share their personal phone number. All messages and announcements are saved on Remind, which allows for full transparency of messages between students and their educators. It is easy to share documents (google docs, images, PDFs) with Remind. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The free version of Remind has a 140 character limit which can be limiting when trying to get information out to students. However, that limit is only for the announcements to the whole class. The one-on-one messaging does not seem to have limits, which is useful. One downside to Remind is that it does not require students to log in with their school email or use their real name when joining. Similarly, when parents join Remind, they are not required to fill out who their student is, which can make it confusing when receiving messages from parents with different last names from their child. That being said, a simple work-around would be for teachers to explicitly require that the students/families use their full names when joining their class. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I love that I can have all of my classes organized and easy to find. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Everything works perfectly. I’ve been using Remind for a long time, and I still love it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like that the information is both texted and emailed to me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
This is a user complaint, but I sometimes get 5-6 "Remind"ers in a row and it can be overwhelming. Not an issue with the software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I love that I can send out a mass remind message to parents, but if they respond, it becomes a one-on-one conversation. This not only helps to not blow up other parents' phones but helps keep things confidential, too. I also love that almost any link or PDF I would need to include can be included in the text reminders to parents. It also helps create a quick and easy way to communicate with parents about anything that is going on in the classroom or at school. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only thing I dislike about Remind is that the initial reminder message has a character limit. It can be hard when you really need to stay professional sounding, and you only need a couple more words to get that point across. I also don't like the limit on the people you can remind for free. I get that they are a business, but (and this goes for any company that focuses on the education field), they really need to understand that teachers are the ones who usually pay for these "extras," not the school. And teachers barely have enough to support themselves without spending all kinds of money on their classrooms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like that I can set up multiple groups and send a text to one or more groups quickly and easily. I also like that I can send a message to an individual and add attachments. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only thing I dislike is the short amount of characters allowed and that an attachment reduces that number. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Integration with google classroom, use of sms, email and app based communication. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Not all telecommunication providers support free SMS messaging in Canada, therefore some communication might be limited to the app or email which requires a data plan. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Instant and easy communication with parents. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Parents/students had to sign up for the class instead of being pre-loaded by the district. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The privacy protection for educators and parents/students, while providing instant communication Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing - this program has evolved steadily, in very intuitive ways that make communication with my students /athletes much easier Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The most helpful thing about Remind is that it easily helps keep parents, students, and teachers on track for assignments, tests, and other big projects throughout the school year. The teacher is able to input all of the due dates at the beginning of the year and delegate when the remind notifications will be sent out. I also like that it is free! Something I dislike about the Remind app is that it can be hard for parents and students to get connected to the app. I wish there was a QR code or a text with a link that could get send out that would automatically connect their accounts with the teacher account.
