Has a wide number of instruments and cross market data Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Refinitiv Eikon?

When researching Corporate Capital Structure Eikon does not contain information around outstanding loan balances. On smaller companies, bond debt data is sometimes inaccurate. This means an analyst must cross check with companies 10K and 10Q's wasting a lot of time. Capital structure data and interface is very poor compared to Bloomberg. Customer Service is lightyears behind Bloomberg. Cheaper than Bloomberg but not as robust. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Refinitiv Eikon?

Eikon's best feature is the obvious presence of information on all types of companies. Ratios, financial figures are displayed in the easiest to view form and it makes using Eikon really easy. Cost-wise, Eikon makes the cut above CapitalIQ or Bloomberg even though it offers less visual information than Bloomberg. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Refinitiv Eikon?

Information about delisted companies is not always available. For example, AIM-listed companies of 10 years ago may be very difficult to find and it takes numerous searches to realise this. The data breadth is simply not a match for Bloomberg, however, it may be enough for someone who does not completely rely on one database. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Refinitiv Eikon:

Eikon is a complete and comprehensive package when it comes to financial research. The lower cost and easy-to-use functionality makes it all the more preferable option over many of its competitors. My recommendation when going with a tool like Eikon is to look over the market to understand all the features that it offers and how it helps your function. Moreover, comparing before buying anything makes sense since often the level of support offered on Eikon may be insufficient for your use, Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Refinitiv Eikon solving and how is that benefiting you?

Much of the financial analysis work we do here requires data from Eikon, which is less heavy on the CPU plus cost-wise it is relatively cheaper than its competitors. The fact that it gives the same information as Bloomberg does complete justice to the fact that we chose to go with Eikon rather than invest in a much more expensive software. Before using Thomson Reuters Eikon, please have a look on the user guides available on the website, just to understand something more about the qualities and functions available. It might be hard at the beginning but then you'll be fully paid off. A part from using Thomson Reuters Eikon, some data are available in a better way on Thomson One Banker and the data can be then inserted in Datastream for Excel to have great experience in the usage then.
