RedPanda is a single binary which makes it much simpler to operate than other Kafka distributions. This allows us to develop and test faster and deploy more frequently.
Their managed clusters have been rock solid, and their support is really helpful.
Switching to RedPanda was very easy for us, as we were already using Kafka. There were zero code changes necessary. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There were a few operational difficulties at the beginning our managed cluster journey. We were on their first versions of managed clusters. The next version came out shortly after we started, which meant we were already faced with a migration.
This was a one time event, and we were early-ish adopters, so I don't anticipate any further disruptions of this sort. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We've been leveraging Redpanda's BYOC cluster for around two years. It has become a core component of our system, particularly for service-to-service communication, and it shines for its user-friendliness and seamless integration. What really enhances our experience is the exceptional customer support and account management—always outstanding in their service. Their quick and considerate responses have been pivotal during our implementation, helping us overcome obstacles efficiently and ensuring our development and operations proceed without a hitch Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
While Redpanda has been a great asset to our system, I believe there's room for improvement in the area of connectors. Specifically, it would be highly beneficial to have a broader range of built-in connectors available. Additionally, simplifying the process for integrating custom connectors would be a welcome change. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It works. It's incredibly performant. It's reliable. It's easy to use. And it's well documented. What else could you want in a streaming platform. It does everything that Kafka does. It does things that Kafka doesn't.
Want to spin up a fully featured multi-cluster node in docker-compose for testing or dev work? Easy.
Got a question? Super thourough documentation, and support.
And it supports higher thoughput than Kafka, while consuming less resources.
I cannot recommend it enough as a streaming platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have been using Redpanda fairly heavily for three years, and don't have anything bad to say about it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We are replacing Kafka throughout all our systems with Redpanda and have been pleased with the performance and ease of use. The permanent backup to S3 to allow full replay of topics is a game changer of us. Additionally, support has been very responsive when we have had questions or issues. Some behavior was a little counterintuitive to us at first but now that we are more familiar with Redpanda we haven't had any significant issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We're using RedPanda to build our reactive event-firehose for our upcoming video games. I've used Apache Kafka since it was open-sourced, and believe me when I tell you, there is no better version of the Kafka protocol on the market. The technology is rock solid from both a stability and performance aspect. I have the upmost respect for their engineering team at RedPanda. They absolutely obsess over the lowest level implementation detail, as opposed to "Just get it working". Performance to them is measured in the microseconds, not milliseconds. Their attention to detail gives me the confidence that our data isn't just going to get to its destination fast, but it will get there safely.
Their tooling (even for open source) makes our engineers far more productive than if they were using Apache Kafka. It's easy for our engineers to get a local RedPanda running to both try and implement new ideas. Finally, all of our existing tools work with RedPanda (Kafka) out-of-the-box without any sort of makeshift changes.
The support team at RedPanda have been oustanding at every step of our journey. There is no better team equipped to get you to where you need to go. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Having leveraged RedPanda and their team for the past year, and their technology since it was first open-source, I can confidently say there's very little to nothing left on the table of desire. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
- > Easy to Setup and Use
- > True partners, than just another vendor - great support for custom design/ use-cases etc.
-> BYOC option
-> Great UI
-> Get a real-time platform setup and ready in almost no time.
-> Easy to integrate with other services. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Been with the product and people for quite some time now and have seen the product evolve quite a lot with so much good improvements and add-ons.
A few missing pieces (which I believe are in the pipeline) are around programmatic ACL/Topic setup : something like a CRD so its easy to integrate and manage it into a CI/CD pipeline than do it manually on UI...but I am hopeful, this will come soon! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Kafka-compatible in an easier to consume, faster and cheaper package. Great company to work with and delivers Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Redpanda are still adding features but also remaining innovative Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's very easy to use. Redpanda has replaced Kafka in our integration testing and we've been using it in production for more than a year. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The Tiered Storage support could still somewhat unstable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Red Panda is substantlially easier to get up and running than a traditional Kafka queueing solution; while it's also more scalable and performance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
So far, nothing really. The team has been extremely helpful, the application was trivial to deploy, and we've had few if any issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
