I like the fact that you can do projects, sub-projects, groups of projects. It is easy to use by everyone involved in the project. Simple and clear, we see the evolution of a project. The user roller system. The fact that it has many plugins for graphs Gant, Agile, etc

**What do you dislike about Redmine?**

There are no things I don't like. It has everything you need for a tracking system, even for use as Project Management with hourly task estimates.

**Recommendations to others considering Redmine:**

For developers looking for a Project Management and Tracking System estimation system, Redmine is a very well developed system that manages to integrate everything needed in tracking and developing the tasks and phases of a project. Since it is free, it makes a very good program that will be taken into consideration when looking for such software.

**What problems is Redmine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use it in everyday work. At Redmine we do the planning of tasks from a Project. I then assign tasks to each developer. We have tasks only for informing clients, others for developers. Through Redmine we keep in touch with customers. It helps a lot in all situations. If a new developer has to enter the project, it is easy to track the evolution of the tasks involved. A great advantage. Plus the Agile system and task scheduling help me in my daily work.

  ### 10. Task Management for Teams

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Denis I. | Senior Project Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 27, 2020

**What do you like best about Redmine?**

Redmine is a fast and easy-to-use task management system that's great for Agile development and small team project management. It has Integrations with time tracking software and the app is rock solid. One of my favorite features compared to other task management software is infinite child tasks. Any task in any project can have an infinite number of subtasks, each with their own dependencies, assignments, and due dates. This allows you to take big and complex projects and turn them into bite-sized check boxes, which is a exactly what a task management system is supposed to do. They also handle attachments really well.

**What do you dislike about Redmine?**

Redmine, despite being really useful and efficient to carry out task management is not perfect because it is a tool that has a really high learning curve so to understand each function it is necessary to take time to navigate its interface and gradually getting to know the options it offers and thus find the workflow that best suits the needs of the user.

**What problems is Redmine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps to keep an order in all the personal and professional projects, they can be mixed in the same workspace, although they can also be carried separately, it is also very good for the project manager, since it allows them to organize their entire team of Work efficiently and monitor the progress of the project at any time.

  ### 11. Excellent software to keep track of zour project

Setting task deadlines, assignees, multiproject management, estimate time, time tracking

**What do you dislike about Redmine?**

The graphical interface is a bit dull and not so stimulating

**What problems is Redmine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping track of multiple project is possible at a glance.

  ### 12. A decent project management tool

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 27, 2020

**What do you like best about Redmine?**

Good collaboration feature. Tracking and sharing are streamlined.

**What do you dislike about Redmine?**

Difficult to customize, users are stucks

**What problems is Redmine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Time tracking and project management

  ### 13. Best app for individuals and small business owners, open-sourced project management tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rafig S. | Head of Corporate Relations, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 01, 2019

**What do you like best about Redmine?**

Easy Redmine includes most wanted features as drag & drop Gantt, global Gantt across all projects, project templates, graphs & charts, customizable dashboards, chat and much more. It is further extensible with plugins for Resource management, Agile, Finance, CRM, Help Desk and Strategic management.

**What do you dislike about Redmine?**

can not find defects in the usability and in the interaction of the purposes of Redmine because it is a very good tool, but only lacking integrations with current tools. As for example, Bitbucket and other tools that are more current and that together I believe would make the tool even better. I think the installation of plugins that is archaic (uploading via FTP) is bad too, I would like it to be a simpler way, user friendly.

**Recommendations to others considering Redmine:**

Some people may perceive Redmine as underpowered after considering only the minimal required feature set. But, as described above, there’s plenty of room for customization, creative shortcuts, and mobility that save time, or powerful extensions that increase accuracy, efficiency, and quality throughout the software lifecycle.

**What problems is Redmine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Redmine’s been around for a while and is one of the best tools in its segment, especially for the clients’ side of web software development. Redmine’s a flexible project management platform, an issue tracker, Wiki, time logger, Gantt charting mechanism, and a slew of countless other functionalities extendable by admin configuration or integrated external modules.

  ### 14. Good tool if you are thinking of adopting Agile!

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nithya S. | Project Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 22, 2019

**What do you like best about Redmine?**

The task boards are good and easy to create. I have been using this tool to run my project using Kanban boards. It is easy to maintain and most of the important details that are necessary to be transparent in the offshore and onshore model is easily configurable.

**What do you dislike about Redmine?**

On the downsides, the look and feel is below basic and gives the feel of a age old tool to manage projects. In the given trend it is very necessary that the tool appears smart and bright. The workflows to be configured are also very confusing. May be it would help to have some quick video so that if any new user watches it, they can as well learn or watch a quick tutorial to help them understand how the tool works.

**Recommendations to others considering Redmine:**

If you are getting into the Agile mode and are looking for a cost effective tool that offers basic features, then you may definitely try this product. The tool is really good if you plan to adopt Kanban because I personally see it serves the purpose. The burn up and burn down charts are basic, will help you track most of the efforts and team performance easily.

**What problems is Redmine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mostly the onshore/offshore model collaboration is done using this tool. The only ease of using I see is the creation, allocation, updates of tasks especially on kanban boards. They look pretty simple and a few days hands on is sufficient to know how to use the tool.

  ### 15. Perfect choice for project management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrei N. | Information Technology Specialist, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2019

**What do you like best about Redmine?**

If I talk about the importance of this tool, I would say it is one of the popular project management software available in the market. Redmine organize our work in efficient ways. We can easily handle our priorities and deadlines. It also allows us to create visual project plans in order to see how every step works.

**What do you dislike about Redmine?**

The system and dashboards could be not too freindly for a begineer. It lacks a 'welcome tour' to help new folks get used to it. Sometimes I don't receive a notification of an issue I'm tagged in. Seems to be a bug or malfunction.

**What problems is Redmine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

According to my experience, I would say Redmine has more helpful features than other applications keeps for project management. It keeps projects track by its advance functions and gather team on one place. Its mobile application presents more convenient environment for doing work in efficient ways.

  ### 16. Very useful tool for project management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stefan L. | Team Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2019

**What do you like best about Redmine?**

In my opinion Redmine is absolutely a wonderful way of setting deadlines for our projects effectively. Moreover, I love its excellent ability of keeping our work flow well organized. It has introduced so many ways for checking team's tasks in most probable ways. Additionally it is very easy for performing multiple tasks at the same time.

**What do you dislike about Redmine?**

It might actually hinder you instead of help you manage tasks at times. If you use it too much and create multiple tasks you will end up with too many and confuse yourself. Use it wisely.

**What problems is Redmine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In terms of product backlog management I think it ticks all the boxes. You've literally got all the functionality you would need to manage a product backlog successfully. Estimating tickets, time-boxing, prioritising, are all great features (a long with many others) that I find very useful and helpful to my day-to-day work.

**What problems is Redmine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alanna B. | Drupal Engineer, Internet, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 23, 2019

**What do you like best about Redmine?**

There are no frills - sometimes that's good! It's got a bit of power in terms of generating reports and such.

**What do you dislike about Redmine?**

It can be difficult to use. It's really not optimized for users. The UI can be confusing, and often doesn't work in a way you expect.

**Recommendations to others considering Redmine:**

If you want something easy to use with a snappy UI, this is not the tool for you. If you want something that gets the job done and might be a little tricky to get used to, go for it.

**What problems is Redmine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using it as an internal issue tracking and project management software. It does the job admirably.

  ### 19. Ease in managing projects

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 24, 2019

**What do you like best about Redmine?**

I like the way redmine allows to manage different projects with great ease. The best part of redmine is that it also allows us to divide the projects into sub projects that is "chunks" Of big project. It also allows customization. This software is open source and this makes a huge difference of it to stand out. The way it provides different roles to manage is commendable.

This software is open source but it always need someone to administrate it.sometimes the ruby plugin architecture on which redmine is developed affects it

**Recommendations to others considering Redmine:**

I recommend this software to all who needs a proper project management.

**What problems is Redmine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The time management and different statuses in it are very good. The flexibility provided by the software is very interesting.Creating your feature filter is very helpful for project management in a organization

  ### 20. Redmine review

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mainga M. | Marketing Specialist, Graphic Design, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 19, 2019

**What do you like best about Redmine?**

To begin with of all its open source and its simple to oversee as well as design gigantic plug ins on require premise. I would too say that it gives an upper hand to engineers in effortlessly following tickets and oversee them in a controlled way. Community bolster is additionally an included advantage based on encounter.

**What do you dislike about Redmine?**

No so much of a disadvantage but it base plan isn't as adaptable as commercial instruments. The UI/UA plan is easy-to-use and basic but not effortlessly controlled out-of-the-box. Setup of Ruby and Rails requires mastery in that environment. It's not as adaptable for utilize as a Back Work area application. The authoritative interface isn't as refined and does not offer as much usefulness as a few other instruments.

**Recommendations to others considering Redmine:**

For organizations overseeing different projects and having to screen asset allotment, Redmine works astoundingly. It is the apparatus that your company and extend needs.

**What problems is Redmine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We run all of our extend administration with Redmine. For many of our company open source ventures that we have on Github -- we utilize Github Issues, and it sucks in comparison. Helps us to our time following, issue administration, reviews, and bolsters our exceedingly spry and custom handle.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steven D. | Owner and President, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 10, 2019

**What do you like best about Redmine?**

We have been using Redmine for years and despite considering moving to other players such as Jira or Basecamp: We have found that Redmine cannot be beat on the combination of Features and Price in a self-hosted install. We were originally drawn to the self-hosted install because we preferred to keep our data in-house, but now even that doesn't feel as critical -- however, without paying a lot more for a competitor, we cannot find the same feature set for a plan within our budget. In addition, even though the interface itself feels dated, it actually has better features than some of the others we have explored and we cannot lose the functionality just for a stylistic update.

**What do you dislike about Redmine?**

Sometimes upgrades don't go perfectly, and that is a challenge as we don't do it often and the issues seem different each time.

The community support is a bit slim. Seems like it isn't growing and that is a concern. Makes me wonder what the future will look like for the project, but it has been the same for years.

A lot of the third party plugins don't get long term support, but in general we have been able to use the out-of-the-box components without much of a need for additional pieces bolted on.

**Recommendations to others considering Redmine:**

As stated before, my only reservation is on the future of the project. It doesn't seem particularly active, but good enough to continue supporting our needs. We have simple needs though and don't search out many 3rd party bolt-ons. Keep that in consideration if you are a power user that will need more support or additional features out of the box.

**What problems is Redmine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We run all of our project management with Redmine. For a few of our company open source projects that we host on Github -- we use Github Issues, and it sucks in comparison.

Helps us to our time tracking, issue management, retrospectives, and supports our highly agile and custom process.
