"My best tool to defence my Databases"
4/5
What do you like best about Redgate Monitor?

The possibility of monitoring multiple engines as MS SQL Server and Postgresql, additionally, having options to multiple cloud providers. On the ohter hand, the UI is very well designed and it allows me to identify the critical issue, on the other hand, the price is very competitive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Redgate Monitor?

I am not so happy with the continue increase on the suscription price, they should be more flexible on the pricing model. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The setup/UI is very simple to learn while offering a high level of customisability. Initial setup is fast and easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Redgate Monitor?

I have found no major issues with RedGate Monitor. There are free monitoring solutions available, but I have found them to be less functional and not fully supported. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy-to-Read SQL Server Monitoring with Robust Alerts"
5/5
What do you like best about Redgate Monitor?

It allows us to monitor all of our SQL servers in one location that’s easy to read and understand. Its alerting notifications have also become quite robust, especially with the recent updates. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Redgate Monitor?

The ability to monitor our Oracle databases still leaves something to be desired, so for now we’re continuing to rely on Oracle’s OEM. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Good tool and performance, but too pricey—and VM maintenance is a deal breaker"
2.5/5
What do you like best about Redgate Monitor?

Once up and running, the user experience and performance is good. It does what you want it to do. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Redgate Monitor?

There are a handful of real issues with this tool. 1. it is too pricey - we dont like the limited # of DBs we can monitor. It should be 10x, at least, the # of DBs you can monitor for the same price. 2. there is alot of overalp with what we already get in terms of monitoring with Azure SQL Server, which is also integrated better into our PaaS. 3. we have to maintain a full, costly VM(s) to run this tool. this is pretty much a deal breaker. SQL Monitor should be a subscription that we just connect to our Azure environment and it does it's magic, integrating with our cloud vendor, helping meet our SOC2 requirements, and we dont have to worry about infrastructure. Running VMs causes all sorts of additional costs and red flags with our certifications. Not to mention, a subscription to a SQL Monitor service just makes way more sense for us that having to maintain all the infrastructure behind it. 4. our salesperson said that we would be able to connect additional DBs beyond the limit, but that turned out not to be the case. So that support was frustrating. 5. we have not used the AI / intelligence. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Invaluable for SQL Database Monitoring"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Redgate Monitor?

I like the dashboard/GUI display of Redgate Monitor. It makes it easy to see everything in one glimpse. The ability to organize servers into groups and tags makes finding things much easier. With multiple farms of virtual servers, being able to organize hundreds of VMs into containers and cross-reference them is invaluable as a time saver. There's no need to dig down a list once you have everything built out and organized. Initial setup was fairly easy too. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Redgate Monitor?

I don't have any dislikes at the moment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Simplifies Performance Monitoring with a Few Connectivity Hiccups"
5/5
What do you like best about Redgate Monitor?

I like the simplicity of Redgate Monitor's GUI. I can just go in, click through, and configure notifications and alerts very simply. Everything is nice and clear in the dashboard when we connect to it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Redgate Monitor?

Sometimes we get connectivity issues to database servers when using Windows authentication. It sometimes causes problems, like an invalid connection or connection from an invalid domain showing up in the SQL server error logs. Also, I find that it's a little bit performance hungry sometimes, especially since we are monitoring quite a lot of servers now on a slightly underpowered VM. Clear and fast access to all of the information I need about the SQL instances that I manage. Very easy to use user interface, with a very easy setup for integrating it with your SQL infrastructure. It provides all information in real time, and the support has been very helpful in providing us with assistance about the setup. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Redgate Monitor?

The pricing is quite elevated and I find it difficult to perpetually pay for newer versions of the software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"User-Friendly Dashboard for Spotting Slow Queries and Production Patterns"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Redgate Monitor?

The dashboard that monitors heavy queries/deadlocks/long running queries, server stats etc. We use it on a big tv in our IT room, so we can constantly monitor our production server. Not only helpfull to monitor problems, but also makes it so you can easier recognise patterns/problems. Also delving deeper into why queries are slow, or the suggestions we get from Redgate monitor is very welcome. The interface is very user-friendly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Redgate Monitor?

Not much, customisation could be better, but that goes for every bit of software out there. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
