Shift is an organisational and computer-friendly solution to my work and life admin. Instead of having to have multiple different apps and software open at one time and slowing down my Mac, I can have them all open, active and logged in in one piece of software. I use Shift all day, every day and it's easy to set up and switch between a personal and work mode. So I have all the apps, software & email accounts I use for work separate from my personal ones. With one click I can switch back and forth as needed and Shift remembers where I was when I switch between apps. Integration is easy, just log in once and Shift always remembers which account is which. So if I have two Google Drives for example (personal and work) my work one will always be logged into my work profile and personal always logged in on my personal. No need to be logging in and out constantly.
Customer support I never really have to use, as Shift is made so well. But the few times I have needed it my issues have been fixed in a timely manner. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Only some minor issues. What seems to be common for other apps is to have a public roadmap of improvements or what apps are next to be added etc. There is little communication about what is coming next or getting updated in Shift etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I love having the ability to have all my email accounts under one program besides traditional desktop clients like Outlook. I also like having a fair amount of integrations that I can add into specific profiles where each profile can have it's own set of applications really separating between work and school. The list of integrations keeps growing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
So integrations do not work as well and need to constantly be removed and readded (Instagram comes to mind). Also video conference applications slow down an already resource intensive application and cause Shift to crash. The web browser feature using an older version of Chrome which sometimes does not work when clicking a web link inside of email account. Particulary with Outlook/Microsoft accounts, Shift doesn't cache the mail tab and sends the user to the default microsoft.com web page focring the user to spend a few minutes getting the email tab working as expected (and when you sign in, it opens a new tab instead of following the page). I've been a Shift user since 2018, when I made the jump from Outlook, macOS Mail and Thunderbird for several different accounts. Shift is awesome at consolidating all these accounts, creating unified calendars, integrating with other apps and making switching between accounts a breeze. It's very intuitive to implement. I looked into replacing Shift at once stage, reviewing a number of different open source or cheaper alternatives, but none came close. Support is always responsive and super helpful. I use Shift on a daily basis. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The cost has gone up over the past six years, but in return there is a lot of decent functionality that has been added in return. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Shift keep all of my necessary tabs open and ready for me to use at all times! I use it every day! No signing in and out of accounts, no lag time-- It's EASY! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are some features that are a bit buggy, like the huddle function in Slack. I would also love to have this on my ipad pro. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I love the fact that I have nearly 10 email addresses and they are all literally 1 click away. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Recently it has requested my email password more than normal. If that could get corrected I would be fine. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What I like best about Shift is how it simplifies everything I do online. The ability to manage all my email accounts, apps, and tools in one place has completely transformed my workflow. It eliminates the constant switching between tabs and windows, allowing me to focus on getting things done without distraction. The interface is clean and easy to use, and I love how I can customize it to fit my specific needs. Shift has made my online experience more organized and efficient, and I really appreciate that. One thing I don't like about Shift is that it can sometimes be a bit resource-heavy, especially when I have multiple apps running simultaneously. This can occasionally slow down my system, which can be frustrating when I'm trying to be efficient. However, the convenience it offers usually outweighs this downside, and I've found ways to manage it by adjusting my app usage within Shift. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Having all my communication platforms inside one app, the ease for switching in between the apps I use for work on daily basis, the ability to have all my notifications in one place, not having to deal with multiple open app icons on my taskbar, the ability to easily switch between Gmail accounts where you have a shortcut to the mail and calendar at the same time. I use it with 3 Gmail accounts and sometimes some of my emails extend beyond the size of the window of the Shift app so I need to use left/right scrolling of my magic mouse to read the email. And the other thing would be that when I add more than 6 apps, for example, some of them get hidden cuz my screen is not big enough and sometimes I don't know that they are there. I've been using shift for about three years. I love how easy it is to navigate, the fact that it has all the bells and whistles if I want them, and that it allows me to make checking multiple email accounts a simple task. As someone who juggles five accounts that must be checked regularly, I'm in and out of Shift all day long, and I never have to give a thought to *how* to do anything. It's all intuitive and uncomplicated. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only downside I've found so far is the inability to connect my Fastmail account. I assume that has something to do with Fastmail's tech side of things (way outside my area of expertise) so I don't fault Shift for that, though it would be wonderful if they figured out how to connect with them! Well priced.
Easy to download, install, setup and use.
I use it every day, not reliant on Chrome any more.
All my web apps all in one place.
Lower memory footprint than the browser equivalent.
Ability to have different profiles for different app groups.
Integrates well with Windows for external program launch if required.
Good support

Won't work with SaaS using certain CloudFlare "human" verification methods (vCita being the big one for me).
Support is only via email, no live chat. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
All my email accounts and personas in one separate app. No more browser tabs and clumsy logins for each account. Shift empowers me to use each email account with related sign-ins to social media, Google Admin Console and apps organized under each email account. Makes my everyday activities a breeze when compared to other email clients plus web browser tabls. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Shift works exceptionally well for Gmail and Google Suite, Microsoft Outlook and Hotmail and other browser based email platforms, BUT does not accomodate email accounts based on IMAP or POP3 which required large local storage on my computer. I use other email clients for these. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
