What do you like best about Red Hat Enterprise Linux?

I enjoy the open-source ecosystem of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). RHEL, along with other RPM-based distributions (Fedora, CentOS, etc.), have a great package management system (dnf/yum), and the dependency resolution is really nice, regardless of if fetching content from the public Red Hat servers, or via a local Red Hat Satellite server. I also enjoy Red Hat Insights and being able to view statistics about my system (compliance, patches, asset information) on the go, without needing to log into the system or an underlying hypervisor. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Red Hat Enterprise Linux?

I'm unsure if this is specific to RHEL, or if other Enterprise Linux distributions face this same issue, but some of the features included in RHEL are not always FIPS (Federal Information Processing Standards) compliant. The one utility that is not FIPS compliant is Leapp, which is a bit frustrating, especially during the RHEL 7/CentOS 7 End-of-Life. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Red Hat Enterprise Linux solving and how is that benefiting you?

It is providing myself and my organization with the ability to run up-to-date versions of software, while also providing a stable infrastructure for Production-level workloads. That benefits me/us by experiencing less downtime, which means our customers and end-users can spend more time developing their applications and completing their work. What do you like best about Red Hat Enterprise Linux?

Redhat AKA RHEL is a best Linux OS environment that anybody can use on there enterprise environments. Mostly because of the support and the security they provides, its freqently provides all the patches to all the indentified bugs and can be used to deploy test and modify any kind of linux based packages easily. You can deploy this OS using very low hardware resources and if you are CLI lover this is the product that you need to choose. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Red Hat Enterprise Linux?

RHEL is mostly reliable for the CLI users just like other linux base OS. For the GUI users, its not that simple to use as Windows its not that user friendly interface. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Red Hat Enterprise Linux solving and how is that benefiting you?

As explained, this OS does not required high hardware resources as other GUI based OS. If you prefer GUI-less OS you can either install that as well, it`s simple and very fast to handle. the main thing, you can customized what you need and what you do not need, you can remove all the unwanted packages and keep whats only required. What do you like best about Red Hat Enterprise Linux?

RHEL is very stable and for RHEL its security is priority which includes its selenium enhanced linux feature which gives several access controls.

For me i found its very easy to use and implementation is quite simple if you follow the steps correctly. It also provides comprehensive support services, including 24/7 support for critical issues which makes it very easy for enterprise companies.

i have used it during my tenure at cisco frequently for trainning purpose and also appeared for exam. Integration as i mentioned is very easy. i will highly recommend RHEL. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Few things that i would like to mention:

1. If you are new to RHEL then the command help which is given in linux is not bery helpful for a beginner to understand .

2. The subscription fees is on higher side which makes it difficult to use for an indivisual users or small companies.

3. Sometimes you might feel the support services are slow but it depends. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

>>The main problem that it is solving is in the field of security, there are so many vulnerabilities nowsdays that can lead to problems, RHEL provides advanced security features such as SELinux, security patches, and proactive vulnerability management which is very useful.

>>RHEL has high uptime and reliability, so in that way it is providing a stable platform for running critical applications and services which is a problem for normal operating systems as they have frequent downtime. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
