I used it educational and comercial platforms both for more than 2 years in my research. And, I loved it. It has several AI/ML built-in models to test and customise to analyse big data in tabular form having temporal and several other forms of data fields.
There are many evaluation and validation tools. The data can be viewed as pie, sun burst, bars, etc. Confusion Matrices are the best form of representation of results. The most helpful thing about altair rapidminer is that it is very helpful for beginners in learning data science because the User Interface (UI) has used full Visualization which is very easy for beginners to learn and apply basic and advanced techniques in learning data science, the guide to solving errors is very helpful with options that can be easily selected by users. The advantages of using Altair Rapidminer are very visible in the application of data science which usually uses programming codes but can be done with an interactive and easy-to-use GUI that wraps the complexity of programming. what is less helpful and I feel in using rapidminer is that it cannot provide the results of accuracy, precision, recall and f1-score metrics, especially for multi-class classification on the confusion matrix. the shortcomings of rapid miner need to be added for more statistical processing such as non-parametric tests. Lack of learning resources available to get started from scratch. There are lots of videos, so this may be a non-issue for most learners. The tutorial is clear, giving the students a self-learning opportunity. The examples available are very well documented and the students can see a machine learning process working with a few clicks! Besides we have a lot of videos on the internet and many papers using Rapidminer to develop cases.
It is easy to create processes and explain machine learning as the students do not need to code anything (sometimes they are afraid of that! I can tell this because I teach Python to them too...).
The interface is clear, and the program provides us with a lot of detailed information about the operators in use.
It recommends the next operators to be used, helping the students to understand prediction inside the tool.
