I love that there is no agent to deploy. When I need to assess a customer site for a vulnerability assessement, I can run the scan from the admin's workstation, or in some cases, I ship them a miniPC that they hook up to their network and that I can then access via my RMM tool to run all necessary scans.
The reports are also very detailed and well formatted. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The multitude of reports can be overwhelming, and many of them repeat the same information in different formats. However, for MSP/MSSPs that provide the reports to the customer, this offers great flexibility. Given that I work with very non-technical SMBs, I don't send the reports to the customers - they wouldn't understand much. I just synthesize all the information in my own reports and put it all in layman's terms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Network Detective is a great tool for quickly gaining a overall picture of a client's network. We frequently use the tool when engaging new clients to provide high level assessment of their network and servers. The output data is extremely useful and saves significant time over pulling all the same reports/data manually. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is a LOT of output. The vast majority of the reports and outputs we have no use for. Our clients are not interested in reading through hundreds of pages of reports. There are executive summaries available, but they usefulness is limited in my expereince. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Does a lot of different things in a single license. We keep looking to replace it but the only replacement options involve at least 2 or 3 different products. Basic features like one time scans for assessments are easy to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Documentation is confusingly mixed with other RapidFire Tools products. Support reps don't seem to know anything that isn't in the documentation. Scheduled tasks often fail with unhelpful error messages. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Network Detective Pro is great for getting clients to realize the things they need to resolve within their network in order to make a more secure environment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is cumbersome. There is a lot of setup in order to get it to run within a network for the amount of info given. You either need to have an agent on each machine and run scans or have an onsite server to help run them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Network Detective shines in its ability to identify and clearly present infrastructure and network security issues. When combined with VulScan, it transforms into a powerful tool for evaluating an environment's security posture.

Network detective is easy to set up and then just let it run.
It comes with a very decent set of reports that takes the guess work out of what you want to investigate in an environment Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Very little customization you can do on the reports.
The desktop app is so slow and outdated. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It provides robust functionality and options for scanning a client's technology footprint. We previously used it to identify objects in our client environments, including on premise networks and M365 tenants. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is pretty expensive and can be time consuming to set up and use. The product is somewhat complex to set up, and Kaseya's billing model is very intrusive for small businesses. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Network Detective Pro worked great for clients with office infrastrcuture. There were tons of reporting aspects and metrics. Being able to create scripts to remotely deploy with any RMM was a plus. Being owned by Kaseya always ensured that support was available and had KB articles. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Unfortunately like any Kaseya products Network Detective Pro would require you to sign up for multi-year deals. The product was not ideal for small organizations that were fully remote without any IT support. It had a patching compliance tool but did not have vulnerability management aspects that competitors include. There are plenty of alterantives which are better suited for MSPs and cost significantly less. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Network Detective Pro's greatest strength is its comprehensive automated network scanning and professional report generation capabilities. The tool excels at discovering and documenting all network assets efficiently, saving countless hours of manual work. The automated security assessments and compliance reporting features are invaluable for managing multiple client networks. The ability to generate detailed, client-ready reports with executive summaries has significantly improved our ability to communicate technical findings to stakeholders. While Network Detective Pro is generally excellent, the initial learning curve can be steep when first implementing the tool. The interface could be more intuitive for new users, and sometimes the scanning process takes longer than expected, especially on larger networks. Additionally, while the reports are comprehensive, customizing them to match specific client branding requirements can be somewhat challenging. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Network Detective Pro is a fantastic tool that I’ve enjoyed using. It’s straightforward, reliable, and provides detailed insights for comprehensive network assessments. Highly recommend for IT pros looking to streamline their audits! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
While Network Detective Pro is a powerful tool, one downside is the occasional difficulty in customizing reports to specific client needs. Additionally, the interface could benefit from a more modern update to improve usability and workflow Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
