"A Game-Changer for Databricks Alerts, Search, and Huddles"
What do you like best about Slack?

Slack has been a game changer for our Databricks team. Databricks job alerts land in the right channels instantly, so there’s no more manually checking logs. Our #recon-queries channel keeps all the related discussion in one place, and I love being able to pin key snippets for easy reference. Search actually works too—I can find that one Spark SQL conversion from two weeks ago without digging around. And for quick questions about window functions, Huddles beat scheduling a Zoom call every time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Slack?

The desktop app develops memory leaks after 6+ hours of use. During deployment weeks, #data-eng notifications also fail, which forces me to fall back to the browser. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Indispensable for Engineering Teams: Organized Channels, Threads, and Powerful Integrations"
What do you like best about Slack?

Slack has become the backbone of our engineering team's daily workflow. The ability to create dedicated channels for different projects keeps conversations organized and easy to search through later. Thread replies are a huge win they prevent important discussions from getting buried in a noisy main channel.

Integrations with GitHub, Jira, and CI/CD pipelines mean I rarely have to switch apps to stay on top of what's happening. Huddles are great for quick syncs without the overhead of a full Zoom call. The only downside is that the free plan's message history limit can be frustrating for smaller teams, and notification management takes a bit of tuning to get right. Overall, Slack is indispensable for any engineering team working remotely or in a hybrid setup. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Slack?

Slack can get overwhelming with too many channels and notifications, making it hard to focus. The free plan's 90-day message history limit is restrictive for small teams. It also tends to use a lot of memory, which slows down older devices. Search could be more intuitive when looking for older files or specific conversations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Slack Delivers Unified, Easy Communication with Powerful Integrations"
What do you like best about Slack?

In my org, we use multiple tools for email, calls, chats, groups, etc., but none of them offer a truly unified platform for communication—both internal and external. Slack looks simple and is easy to use, yet it still gives us control over more complex requirements. We can integrate many applications and get insights from tools like Jira, Github, and Databricks. Even on the website, it handles calls and chats seamlessly. Compared to other tools, the subscription is less while offering more features. We can also integrate Slack with a Databricks AI bot for business insights. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Slack?

When someone doesn’t reply within a thread and instead posts in the main channel, the conversation loses its context and gets scattered. On the other hand, when a thread runs too long, it’s easy to forget it’s even there until someone pings you again.

Teams does support third-party integrations, but they often feel less seamless than they do in Slack. Overall, the platform seems to work best when you fully commit to the Microsoft ecosystem. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Essential for Remote Work, Seamless Integrations"
What do you like best about Slack?

I love that Slack is very easy to use. It's also fantastic how quickly Slack adapts to new features in the market. I remember when they introduced the video upload feature where you can record a video and send it to friends, which was really innovative at the time. I also find the AI recaps feature very helpful as it gives a summary of what happened on Slack, offering suggestions if anything was missed. The integrations are flawless, especially with tools like Google Suite for calendar reminders and file sharing, Freshdesk, and Jira. Everything works well, and it's always up to date. The initial setup was easy too. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Slack?

Honestly, I have nothing to add. this has to be the best communication tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy to Use, Deep Features, and Powerful Integrations"
What do you like best about Slack?

What I like best about Slack is how easy it is to use without sacrificing depth.

The interface is clean and intuitive, so you don’t waste time figuring things out. Conversations stay organized with channels and threads, which makes a big difference compared to messy communication in emails.

It also stands out with integrations. Being able to connect tools and bring updates directly into Slack saves time and keeps everything in one place instead of jumping between apps.

Performance is generally solid. Messages are instant, and even with active teams it stays responsive, which is important for day-to-day work.

On the pricing side, it can feel a bit expensive, but it delivers value if you actually use it as a central workspace. It helps reduce time spent searching for information or coordinating with others.

Getting started is straightforward, and new team members can adapt quickly. Most things are easy to pick up without much training.

The AI features are a nice addition as well. Summaries and quick access to information help cut through long conversations and stay focused on what matters. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Slack?

What I dislike about Slack is that it can get noisy and distracting, especially in active teams. With many channels and constant notifications, it’s easy to lose focus or miss important messages.

The interface, while clean, can feel cluttered once you’re part of multiple channels. Finding older conversations or specific information isn’t always as quick as it should be.

Pricing is another downside. Some important features are locked behind paid plans, which can feel limiting for smaller teams.

It can also become a bit heavy over time, especially with lots of integrations and history, which sometimes affects performance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Efficient Team Communication Tool with Room for Improvement"
What do you like best about Slack?

I use Slack daily for team communication, and I love how most of our discussions happen in channels, making it easy to keep track of updates without getting lost like in emails. I appreciate how fast and simple it is to send files or screenshots during work, and the search feature is really helpful for finding old messages or links. Slack has made collaboration much easier and faster, especially when working with a team remotely or on multiple tasks. Its channel-based structure helps keep conversations focused, allowing me to follow discussions without confusion. The quick messaging feature compared to emails helps me get instant responses and solve issues quickly. Overall, Slack makes daily work smoother and more efficient, and when used together with other tools, it streamlines my workflow by keeping everything in one place. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Slack?

One thing that doesn’t always work well for me in Slack is the number of notifications. When you’re part of multiple channels, it can get a bit overwhelming and sometimes distracting during focused work. Also, important messages can sometimes get lost in busy channels if there are too many conversations happening at once. While the search feature helps, it still takes time to find specific information. Another area that could be improved is call quality at times, as it can occasionally lag or disconnect compared to dedicated meeting tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Connects Well, But Fails on Mobile"
What do you like best about Slack?

I like the creation of themed groups on Slack because it allows for the inclusion of data, videos, images, etc., and I find it relatively easy to use. This functionality allows for the subdivision of themes such as sprints and the division of topics by specific needs, such as feedback, support, questions, onboarding of new members, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Slack?

Terrible in mobile use, it doesn't have good visualization and doesn't mirror what's on the desktop. I would also like better visualization on the phone, the combination of various emails in a single view, and to include audio as a way to interact on Slack and transform it into text. Furthermore, I don't connect with other tools despite it being possible, because it opens many data security risks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy Communication, Needs Better Video Features"
What do you like best about Slack?

I find Slack so easy to use, which makes communication smooth with colleagues and suppliers. The friendly, fun, and cool branding is a significant plus for me, unlike the more corporate feel of MS Teams. I appreciate the instant chat feature, which is essential for quick communication. The Slack apps for internal tooling are valuable, and I use Canvas for notes and lists. The ability to integrate our platform with Slack and push messages into channels and direct messages adds to its utility. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Slack?

I find the video quality in Huddles not as good as Google Meet. It's frustrating that Huddles can't be recorded or transcribed on our plan. Also, I can't remote control screens like I can with Zoom. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"User-Friendly with Outstanding Integration Capabilities"
What do you like best about Slack?

I appreciate Slack's very friendly nature for internal communication, especially with its rich selection of emojis and stickers that enhance expression and interaction. The ability to see communication history ensures that everything is right back there in Slack, which is both useful and convenient. I find the new 'read gap' functionality incredibly helpful as it allows me to catch up on what I missed over the last month, preventing me from falling behind. Additionally, Slack's ease of integration with tools like MuleSoft and Salesforce is remarkable, ensuring seamless workflows in my work environment. This feature makes Slack a standout choice for me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Slack?

I sometimes don't receive notifications for new messages, which is frustrating as it leads to missing important communications. Additionally, when I check for old messages, I'm struggling to see them clearly, which hampers my ability to keep track of past interactions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Reliable for Team Communication, Needs Stability Improvements"
What do you like best about Slack?

I use Slack extensively for communication and team management. It allows me to communicate with teammates, share screenshots about problems, get on calls—both video and audio—at any time, and discuss projects. Slack is very intuitive for mapping out strategies and sharing information. I really appreciate its reliability for team calls and management. I like the ability to bookmark messages anytime, and the search feature is invaluable for retrieving important information from past conversations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Slack?

Yeah. Sometimes, I think there's just some net issue. So platform issue that things just go down. It doesn't come up or as reliable as you want it, and then you are unable to get stuff done that you really need to get done or going. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
