I like the ease of downloading transactions from financial institutions. It makes budgeting and accounting easy. My categories are automatically loaded. It allows you to store your asset information so that you can monitor your stocks and mutual funds. This is useful to see how you are doing in your financial performance and get that daily number on your net worth $$$. But what is most helpful is the budgeting reports. These let you toggle back and forth between your category totals and your detail transactions so that you can see how your spending compares to your yearly budget. The reporting function allows you to build annual budgets and monitor your performance against them. Another great thing, you can download tax related information from Quicken to Turbotax, since they are both owned by Intuit. I have used Quicken both for Mac and for Windows. I think the Mac platform is a not quite as slick, and I wish it would be easier to transfer information between the two platforms, as I do work for someone with the Windows version. I also would like the reports to be a little easier to customize. I wish Quicken had an insurance policy organizer, as I'd like to use it to organize all of my insurance policies. Quicken for Mac provides lots of great reports, a good user interface and ease of use. For personal finances and small business book keeping it works great and I find no need to use Quickbooks. For some unknown reason Quicken have removed the ability to import basic QIF files to update accounts. Not all banks work with Quicken and so the only option in that situation is to manually enter all records. The is far too time consuming and so I would review carefully to make sure Quicken handles your banks before committing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It is so user-friendly and easy to use, even for the most novice of technology-users. Creating a budget and managing bills, looking at all your accounts in one place, auto-categorizing each purchase, its just so easy. I also love the green bars that show you how far away you are from goals. It is one of the oldest budgeting tools around but they have definitely updated the application to be in line with other competitors with 2020. Whatever you need it for financially, they have a ton of different packages to choose from. My father also uses it for his business as well as personal use.

It also seems like Quicken does monthly releases to include any bug fixes, you can email reports, and it seems just an overall faster and better user experience for things like investments, budget tracking and more. I also like how you can customize your dashboard so it will show you first what is most important to you at a glance.

I also LOVE the fact that you can sync it to your billers, like cell phone services and then you can see them in a calendar so you can see what is coming up due. If some of your bills are not online, you can input them manually and again, it will show you a projected account balance based off your input. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Sometimes I have a hard time connecting all of my transactions for some reason. Its like it doesn't want to update until the next day. Also the web version doesn't have all of the features like the desktop does. It gives a more streamlines dashboard but it is a tad bit easier to navigate. Even though the dashboard is customized, it almost seems like its TOO customizable. There are so many options to choose from (which can be good or bad depending on the user.)
