It integrates easily with my bank so all of my purchases are quickly added to Quicken. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I do not like when Quicken automatically fills in sections. Sometimes it tells me one of my purchases is identical to a previous one even if it isn't. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Quicken is a fantastic tool for aggregating all your financial information into one place. It has a pretty good direct link system to most major banks and financial institutions to get up to date information quickly. The one thing that sets it apart for me is the ability to put future transactions into a particular account's ledger, giving me the ability to "see into the future" of my finances. You wouldn't believe it, but that functionality is not widely available in any of the other financial tracking tools/apps I've tried. (And I've tried a LOT of them.) The thing I disklike the most about Quicken is the disparity between the desktop and online versions. I do not like having to synch my desktop file with the online version simply to see all my data on the web. Even when it does synch, the online tool is not nearly as functional or easy to use. Quicken is the go-to software for a lot of businesses - keeping track of accounts, inventory, every nitty gritty thing. For businesses that have inventory and want to tie in their banking accounts and dig down to the penny, this is great software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
But to be honest, I needed something tied to Real Estate Property Management. While the program has some features that do these sorts of things, quite frankly, it is just too much. The learning curve is steep. You can get lost in features trying to understand what would pertain to your business and what wouldn't. I didn't want a program to tie into my bank accounts - I just need to know about my buildings, my tenants and be able to log information quickly and access it just as quickly. I needed a document archive as much as I needed information about tenants and rents. And it cost too much - the high price of the subscription model was prohibitive over time. Some services I am happy to pay for, some not so much. I wanted it easy to log receipts and keep them in the program, track expenses and payments, and across multiple platforms. Quicken isn't quite like that. Almost - but not enough. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Love this system. It's super easy to use to manage your finances and also the future expnses. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have not been able to figure out how I can get this to sync with my account directly but that gives me a chance to really double-check everything so... Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I love that they have a Mac version!
Cost is in-line with what a PC user pays, as well as it is less than other Mac accounting software.
Easy to install and update regularly without significant disruption.
Customer support is helpful and quick to answer calls. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Generating IRS reports and bank required documents are not there.
I would like to see more business functions and abilities, such as creating invoices, P&L reports, and other documents Banks/Businesses/IRS require. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The functions are simple and logical, very user-friendly. Easy to set up your accounts and your categories for bookkeeping. It's good for individuals and small businesses. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The reports can be a little awkward to create. I would prefer to be able to show a profit-and-loss for both the current month and the year-to-date on the same page. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Quicken for Mac makes it easy for me to manage my personal finances and determine my net worth on my Mac and mobile devices. It has achieved parity for Windows and is a great tool for Mac users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes software updates can create bugs, and getting support for issues can sometimes be challenging. Additionally, sometimes connections to banks can fail, which can be frustrating. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
