Sonia condenses information succinctly and provides a way to sort through agencies somewhat effectively. However if you do not know what to look for, then it can be much more challenging and cause more harm than good at times. While it is not aesthetically pleasing, it does provide a coherent tab stucture, which can help a user navigate somewhat efficiently between different pages. Its UI is pretty archaic. You also have to save your search if you have agencies selected, or else it will wipe the data every time you refresh the page. It is only effective in its search if you know the precise topic or category. We currently use the platform as a way to organize internship options within our graduate program. If I did not know which sector I wanted to work in and particular clinics to look for, I am not sure I would have found something viable for both my interests and time. The platform is very customizable which has allowed us to meet our needs and often enhance how we support our 470+ students in field placements any given year. The Sonia team is exceptionally knowledgeable and responsive. SONIA has been extremely helpful in the organization and tracking of student placements and all needed data. I enjoy the ease of use for data entry and exporting of required data for reports and projections, specifically as it relates to CSWE competencies. The available support and resources are also a huge help when needing to resolve an issue or concern. The ability to "copy" forms and share them, both internally and externally, is an excellent means of working 'smarter, not harder' and is ideal in an everchanging and evolving atmosphere.
