PTC Windchill Reviews & Product Details

Ease of use, i mean just like browsing something in internet we can use Windchill Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I dont see anything that i dislike about windchill so far Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The folder management is systematic.

Documents are easily accessible and compatible with AutoCAD. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We are working with many different teams about our analsys progresses, when the designers made any revision on the project or any update we can directly and we will see who made the changes and updates. Also we can open and download the datas easly Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It is extremely hard for newbies to work with. Very low user-friendliness. You have to click so many times just to open file or to do anything. Also every click could cause issues for you and you need admin for almost everything. And then there are bugs... so many of them. We had to delay our entire portfolio just because of Windchill. There is PLM system that give access to all the user and there having facility to view that drawing is that in which state and you can download latest drawing. It have also acces to link your drawing with your engineer BOM and your manufacturing MES system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

There having no option to download drawing as per grouping you have to download drawing saperately. And some time when use data loader then its phase difficulty to use that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Am using PTC Windchill for four years. Product Life cycle management is made simple using this tool. We use this software for Bill Of Material(BOM) creation, Check-in and check-out of CAD data, design documents, process management and design generation. The best part I noticed is we can able to customize its user interface, which is really helpful and user-friendly. We can able to do Engineering Change Request(ECR) and Engineering Change Notice(ECN) easily. It integrates and performs well with PTC creo. Product data can be searched and accessed from any department in our organization without any trouble. Drawing revisions can be made easily, and it notifies the change to all the users in the loop. Errors sometimes occur while working on larger CAD models that result in hanging and closing the program; this seems uncomfortable while working. In order to create a Windchill Bill Of Materials, WT parts need to be created for all the parts. Otherwise am ok with PTC Windchill for PLM. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

PTC Windchill is a Product Lifecycle Management PLM tool where one can store and use each and every details of product and components from scratch to obsolete and to lifetime. I like the way its UI is designed, i can easily track, find history of all products. I am able to save save my 3D and 2D cad data, pdf, xml, office files also Auto cad files on Windchill. Using PTC Windchill i can release the whole project, product in system to access all departments within company. I am using PTC Windchill for Check In & Check Out, release of 3d &2d of components, attributes filling, BOM creation, project management, daily task, classification explorer etc. Workflow management, Version views, metadata creation, Nested and multilevel BOM creation. PTC Windchill is a web based application and not an individual app available for Windchill that i little dont like. Also sometimes catche creates problems and need to delete catche manually while using Windchill with Creo this is also one dislike. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
