The product's core capabilities focus on providing a robust business email experience. The centralized admin panel allows for efficient user management, enabling administrators to add or remove users, enforce two-factor authentication, and manage permissions across the business domain. Advanced threat protection through Proton Sentinel combines AI and human analysis to identify and block potential account breaches and other security threats. By combining encrypted communication with practical organizational tools and administrative oversight, Proton Mail for Business positions itself as a comprehensive and secure email platform for SMBs. ## Proton Mail For Business Reviews
 ### 1. Secure, Effective, Simplicity

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Frank C.

**Reviewed Date:** May 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Mail For Business?**

The thing that I like most about using Proton Mail for Business, is the simplicity of using the product. As a travel blog writer, I am the only person and "I wear many hats". Pointing the domain server to Proton Mail is something I can easily do, and I can add or remove email addresses quickly when needed, like when a domain needs to verify "webmaster@" instead of "admin@" for example.

**What do you dislike about Proton Mail For Business?**

The least helpful aspect of using Proton Mail for Business is that I haven't learned how to build templates, for newsletters, promotions, etc. This is most likely reflects my lack of knowledge, however.

**What problems is Proton Mail For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Proton Mail for Business solves the problem of providing my customers the trust that by communicating with me, they are not communicating with anyone else through the encrypted platform. Proton Mail is headquartered in Switzerland, which has some of the strictest privacy laws in the world, so my business is not engaged using questionable encryption services, but an above the board B2B email solution.

 ### 2. ProtonMail: The Gold Standard for Private, Secure Email

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sterling Y. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Mail For Business?**

What I appreciate most about Proton Mail for Business is how it seamlessly combines enterprise-grade security with genuine productivity, solving the critical challenge of protecting sensitive business communications without sacrificing functionality. The automatic end-to-end encryption means zero-access privacy—even Proton can't decrypt stored emails—which is essential for compliance with HIPAA and GDPR while building client trust. The platform excels at practical business needs with features like custom domain support, catch-all email addresses to never miss messages, and encrypted email forwarding that maintains end-to-end encryption. Combined with integrated encrypted calendar scheduling, productivity tools like filters and automation, and the ability to manage everything from a clean, user-friendly interface across all devices, Proton Mail for Business delivers what modern SMBs need: professional communication that's both secure and efficient without requiring complex infrastructure management.

**What do you dislike about Proton Mail For Business?**

The most significant drawback of Proton Mail for Business is the limited integration ecosystem compared to established platforms like Google Workspace or Microsoft 365. While I understand the logic of why, I look forward to Proton providing their over privacy-first versions of some of these core capabilities.

**What problems is Proton Mail For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Security, Privacy and Encryption are core to the Proton ecosystem.

 ### 3. Secure email at its best

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** B A R. | CEO, Consumer Goods, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Mail For Business?**

Proton Mail for Business provides a unique and broad set of services for business users. Unlike free email services and some paid providers, Proton Mail for Business is focused on security first and foremost. It allows user roles to be defined at the administrative level within an organization, which helps with managing access and responsibilities. It also offers strong encryption, including integration with keychain security (end-to-end encryption). Most email providers don’t include this in their standard packages, or they offer it only at an unusually high financial cost. Proton Mail actually delivers that security with speed and great integration to its suite of products that cover various uses needed within an organization. For example Proton Mail for Business easily allows saving of attachments to its Proton For Business Drive for storage.

**What do you dislike about Proton Mail For Business?**

I have no dislikes about Proton Mail for Business, as it absolutely addresses our organization’s needs at every level. If an issue ever comes up, the Proton Mail for Business support team responds quickly and works to resolve whatever the problem is, while keeping us informed of the progress until everything is fully resolved.

**What problems is Proton Mail For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Proton mail For Business provides storage integration as well as passwords control and generation without relying on external or other business related products to provide these services. Its an all in one solution that gives us peace of mind when it comes to security and product reliability.

 ### 4. Proton Mail for Business: Privacy and Security You Can Trust

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James B. | Owner/Opperator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Mail For Business?**

Privacy and security matter. Google and Yahoo have both been known to share data from businesses in the firearms space with banks and other institutions for the purpose of suppression, and that’s not something that can happen with Proton.

**What do you dislike about Proton Mail For Business?**

I’m extremely satisfied with Proton Mail for Business. If I had to point to anything even close to a downside, it would be that I occasionally forget to switch the “From” email address to the one that’s appropriate for the message I’m sending.

**What problems is Proton Mail For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This was addressed earlier, but there’s still strong institutional resistance to the firearms industry. It shows up in everything from Google and Yahoo suppressing business information, to Venmo and PayPal fining companies and individuals. Even Chase and Visa will track and report individual purchasing information and de-bank companies. If you’re Remington or Smith and Wesson and have an army of lawyers, that’s one thing, but for small businesses, privacy is the best defense.

 ### 5. Very robust, reliable and easy to use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James C.

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Mail For Business?**

I like the encryption built into the program as well as it's reliability and robustness. The application is easy to use and is very customizable making it a tool I use every single day. I use it for personal and professional purposes and I would not think of using anything else as my primary email system. I have others for backup but I only use Proton mail. I also like thta I can use my primary domain name in email and answer email using the same domain name. This shows customers that I am professional and reliable to do business with.

**What do you dislike about Proton Mail For Business?**

I wish the application had a few more features. I also would like that the compose window be something separate rather than embdded into the main body of the application. This makes looking at other emails while composing impossible to do.

**What problems is Proton Mail For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

good reliable platform that allows me to use my domain. This helps establish my credibility as being professional and reliable. I dom't have to rely on a separate email server and have all my email in a single location

 ### 6. A More Secure and Better Alternative to GSuite

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Keenan C. | Residential Property Inspector

**Reviewed Date:** June 11, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Mail For Business?**

I like the clear and transparent pricing of Proton's business products. Proton cares about its users and more importantly, their privacy. I have full control over how access to information is structured throughout my business and fine tuned control over users in my organization. The drive space is generous and rewards are given for continued loyalty. Feedback is even considered and they made CLI installation for Linux easier based on my feedback. That makes me proud to be a member.

**What do you dislike about Proton Mail For Business?**

I don't really dislike anything about Proton. If I had to give an answer, it needs more tools and integrations so that I can fully transition from Google/other products. Things like organization wide address books for email, calendar invite support, website integrations, and other collaborative features within the organization.

**What problems is Proton Mail For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Proton is solving the biggest issue for me, which is data security within my organization. We have tons of sensitive data in our systems which Proton helps secure through security protocols that aren't in place through other alternatives.

 ### 7. Because Privacy and Security Matter

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ian D. | Community Volunteer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 07, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Mail For Business?**

I love how easy it is to manage email accounts for all my users and domains in one place. Proton stands out from other email service providers not only because of the privacy and security it offers, but also because it provides a simple and effective administration panel for managing domain-based email.

**What do you dislike about Proton Mail For Business?**

There is not much I truly dislike. However, I would really appreciate the ability to add a custom logo to domain emails, as this would help strengthen business branding.

One small inconvenience is that when I send an email to another account linked under the same business account, I sometimes end up with duplicate copies of the same email.

**What problems is Proton Mail For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Proton Mail for Business solves the privacy concerns that many other work email providers cannot fully address. It gives me confidence that my business communications are handled with strong privacy and security standards.

It is also very convenient to have all my email accounts grouped together in one place, while still being able to manage users and domains efficiently.

 ### 8. Modern Communication And A Strong Alternative To Big Data

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Media Production | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Mail For Business?**

Proton for Business email and Proton Drive provide a secure, privacy‑first alternative to legacy cloud providers, with the added assurance of Swiss jurisdiction and end‑to‑end encryption baked into the core architecture rather than bolted on as a feature.

Proton for Business lets us modernize communications and storage without trading away confidentiality to ad‑tech ecosystems or broad surveillance regimes. The suite covers email, calendar, and cloud storage in a cohesive workspace, so we can offer staff a familiar productivity environment while materially improving how we handle sensitive information. From a governance standpoint, Proton’s legal and technical posture reduces our risk surface in three ways: by limiting who can access our data (including Proton themselves), by placing that data under strong Swiss privacy law, and by ensuring data is not repurposed for AI training or behavioral profiling. Proton is headquartered in Switzerland, and our business data is stored there under some of the world’s strongest privacy and data‑protection laws. Switzerland’s constitutional right to privacy and strict criminal procedure rules mean Swiss companies cannot engage in bulk surveillance and are legally restricted from sharing data with foreign authorities.

Because Switzerland is outside US, EU, and UK jurisdiction, our data is not directly subject to instruments like the US CLOUD Act or EU‑level pressure to weaken encryption. When foreign governments seek access, they must go through Swiss authorities, who apply Swiss law and can only compel disclosure of the limited metadata Proton actually retains, not the encrypted message or file contents. For us, this balance—robust privacy and encryption plus lawful compliance—is preferable to opaque big‑tech data sharing and silent scanning of content for commercial purposes.

Proton Mail for Business delivers end‑to‑end encrypted email and calendar, with custom domain support, admin controls, and mobile and desktop clients suitable for day‑to‑day corporate communication. Email content between Proton users is encrypted on the client and stored encrypted at rest, so Proton cannot decrypt our stored messages, which limits exposure even in the event of a provider‑side breach. Transport to external providers is secured with TLS, and Proton offers options to encrypt messages sent to non‑Proton recipients, extending confidentiality beyond our own tenant where required. The platform includes spam protection, inbox automation, and productivity tooling, so users are not sacrificing usability to gain security.

Operationally, Proton’s business plans add role‑based administration and centralized policy management, making it feasible to standardize security across teams instead of relying on ad‑hoc user behavior. Because Proton is not an ad company, our business metadata is not mined for advertising, cross‑service profiling, or AI model training, which aligns with our privacy commitments to customers and partners.

Proton Drive for Business gives us encrypted cloud storage and collaboration designed for organizations that treat data as an asset rather than raw material for analytics by a third party. Files are end‑to‑end encrypted on user devices before upload, which means Proton cannot read stored documents or media; only our users with the appropriate keys can decrypt them. Data is hosted in Switzerland under the same strict privacy laws as Proton Mail, insulating stored business files from mass data‑collection programs and cross‑border cloud‑act requests. Proton Drive supports secure file sharing and access control, so teams can collaborate while maintaining granular control over who can see what, inside and outside the company. This architecture reduces both insider and third‑party risk: even if storage infrastructure is compromised, attackers would encounter encrypted blobs rather than readable documents. It also gives us a clean narrative for clients who require evidence that their contracts, personal data, or intellectual property are not exposed to uncontrolled cloud analytics ecosystems.

We chose Proton for Business because it aligns with an executive‑level mandate: protect stakeholder data as if it were our own, and avoid business models that monetize surveillance. Swiss jurisdiction, end‑to‑end encryption, and a clear refusal to build backdoors or engage in bulk data collection give us a defensible privacy posture that legacy US‑centric cloud stacks struggle to match. Proton’s roadmap across Mail, Calendar, Drive, and the broader workspace shows a commitment to secure, interoperable tools rather than lock‑in and data exploitation, which supports our long‑term digital‑sovereignty objectives. For organizations that view confidentiality, client trust, and regulatory resilience as strategic assets, Proton for Business is a strong fit.

**What do you dislike about Proton Mail For Business?**

Proton’s strongest advantages in security and privacy come with a tradeoff: it does not plug as deeply or as seamlessly into the “big data” SaaS ecosystem as Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, and that limitation is structural, not just a missing feature.

Proton Workspace is designed as a self‑contained, encrypted suite, so it integrates tightly with its own Mail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Meet, VPN, and Pass, but far less with third‑party cloud tools. That design means you cannot assume the same one‑click, bi‑directional connections you may be used to with major CRMs, marketing automation platforms, or sales‑engagement tools built around Google or Microsoft APIs. For example, Proton Calendar will not natively sync with Microsoft Teams or many CRM calendars in the way an Exchange or Google calendar does, and connecting tools like Calendly, Asana, or Salesforce generally requires manual workarounds. For teams whose workflows depend on live, cross‑platform calendar and email integration with multiple SaaS tools, those frictions accumulate quickly.

Proton’s always‑on end‑to‑end and zero‑access encryption means it cannot decrypt your email or files to hand them to third‑party services, including ad platforms, analytics stacks, or AI engines that expect raw content access. The kind of “legacy big data” environment where email, calendars, and documents are continuously mined for signals, auto‑categorized, and piped into marketing, sales, and ML pipelines simply assumes that the provider (and its partners) can read your data, which Proton explicitly prevents. Independent reviewers and long‑term business users have called out this tension directly: If your daily operations are built around dense integrations with CRMs, project‑management platforms, and cloud SaaS tools that need deep calendar and inbox access, Proton can feel limiting or “not viable” as you scale. In practice, Proton for Business is best suited to organizations that either keep their stack relatively lean or are willing to redesign workflows so that big‑data style aggregation and profiling of user content is not a core requirement.

**What problems is Proton Mail For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Proton for Business protects sensitive communications, asserts digital sovereignty over our data, and simplifies how we talk about privacy with clients and partners. By moving our email and file storage into an end‑to‑end encrypted, Swiss‑hosted environment, we have dramatically reduced the risk that employee inboxes and shared documents become a monetized data source for third parties. That shift lets us treat internal and client communications as confidential by default instead of relying on policies and user discipline alone. It also gives our security team a more defensible position when evaluating threats and compliance obligations. Proton has helped us regain control over where our data lives and who can access it. Instead of being locked into a US‑based, ad‑driven ecosystem, our business‑critical information now sits under a clear, privacy‑centric legal framework, and our provider’s business model is aligned with keeping that data private. That alignment reduces long‑term vendor risk and supports our broader strategy around data residency and regulatory resilience.

Proton for Business has simplified our external messaging around privacy and trust. It is now straightforward to demonstrate to customers, investors, and auditors that our collaboration tools are not feeding hidden analytics or AI training systems. That clarity shortens due‑diligence cycles, strengthens NDAs and data‑processing agreements in practice (not just on paper), and reinforces our positioning as a company that takes confidentiality seriously by design, not as a marketing slogan.

 ### 9. Trustworthy, Credibility, Geniuses, Ethical, Benevolent, Kind, Successful

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aaron S. | Lab Manager / IT Tech

**Reviewed Date:** June 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Mail For Business?**

Previously it was their email security, now it is all the equally market leading apps that they have added in gradually. There’s simply no comparison to any other platform, including Microsoft. Wll they need to do is partner with someone in the Linux space, and produce their own distro. They support all platforms and that’s great, but they could also be a distro as well and become an organization’s sole platform and software provider. And they would quickly unseat all other distros and become as popular as Linux itself.

**What do you dislike about Proton Mail For Business?**

I would like the ability to “bounce” emails I don’t want, so that spammers can’t determine whether the email address is correct and in service. I would by default bounce everything I don’t recognize, and then look through the folder and greenlight legitimate emails. I am just so sick of still having to go through all my spam. I want this to finally end with the spam never being accepted at all and me not having to know about it. There has to be something to be done with an AI that would make it work.

**What problems is Proton Mail For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A universal security solution that isn’t dependent upon Microsoft.

 ### 10. Streamlined email for multiple businesses

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan B. | Journalist

**Reviewed Date:** June 04, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Mail For Business?**

I'm a solopreneur with two businesses, and Proton Mail seamlessly integrates my personal and work emails (from different domains) into one place so I never miss anything important. And I never have to worry about the safety of my communications because of Proton's encryption. Plus, every year my email storage space grows with my businesses.

**What do you dislike about Proton Mail For Business?**

I haven't really experienced any downsides yet. Upgrading to enable two domains was simple and easy, and domain verification was also straightforward without any issues.

**What problems is Proton Mail For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Unlike other email solutions I've worked with over the years (namely Google Workspace), Proton Mail integrates multiple email accounts on different domains so I never have to switch between email accounts to check emails. It's so much simpler and easier, and it eliminates the risk of missing something important. And replies stay with the respective email account; I don't think I've ever sent an email from the wrong account. In addition, I love Proton Mail's Newsletters feature, which is incredibly useful for quickly cleaning up my inbox. I think it's a far superior experience to managing Gmail inboxes.

 ### 11. Would Use Exclusively if I Could

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rob T. | Instructor

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Mail For Business?**

To me, the use of Proton Mail is all about privacy and security. I've used it for 5 years now, and have experienced very few technical issues. It doesn't take much research to learn that Proton (as a company) is top notch... they don't put out ANY product or service without building a high level of security into it. They don't add a lot of unnecessary fluff. So, it meets all my requirements - fast, reliable, secure, and private. Also, the pricing model is fair and does not have weird unexpected fees added.

**What do you dislike about Proton Mail For Business?**

I really have no complaints. I could imagine that there are those who want Proton to put out new or additional features more quickly, but I'm not one of them. I like their thoughtful cadence, and appreciate that they don't put out junk before it is ready.

**What problems is Proton Mail For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I explained this above. Proton Mail is fairly priced, verifiably secure and private, fast, and reliable. There are no other options available that cover all these bases. So, they solve my "trust" problem so well, that email is not a problem that I need to worry about.

 ### 12. Solid Encryption, Security & Services out of Switzerland while remaining non-profit.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lee A. | Technical Manager

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Mail For Business?**

Proton is, at its core, security and privacy focused with tools to ensure this remains the focus. Yet, more products continue to release turning the core of what they do into a true business suite of applications which is also a great alternative when most companies you would traditionally used are based in the USA. Each product is well polished supporting multiple OS systems and most importantly updates and improvements are not slowing down reacting to the requests of the community around it.

**What do you dislike about Proton Mail For Business?**

I would like more integration with Linux when/if possible particularly around the Proton Drive product to allow more fluid syncronisation among products.

**What problems is Proton Mail For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

clean encryption, responsive and great client. The ability to manage aliases keeps control of potential future spam, but the inbuilt filtering on spam/junk is already 2nd to none. The knowledge of the support staff has always been incredibly detailed with any issues I have had regardless and I have always felt the support really have cared about the issue, taken ownership and worked with me to get the issues resolved by pointing me in the exact direction even when the issue was external to the product.

 ### 13. Intuitive, clean UI, secure without all the complexity

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christopher M. | Operator

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Mail For Business?**

It's extremely easy to use and I enjoy the automatic encryption when emailing with my coworkers. I've started using the calendar integration much more which is also a nice feature inside of the Proton Mail app. For me it's the added security which makes me feel more protected then sharing every single thing I do with Google or Microsoft. I assume none of my data is being used for advertising or training AI, which is vital as we work on highly confidential communications.

**What do you dislike about Proton Mail For Business?**

I'd like more integrations like the Google Suite or Office Suite, but I am confident this is on their roadmap! Real-time mail alerts seems to have a bit of a lag, as I get notifications on my phone before I do on desktop (possibly user error not setting it up to poll more frequently).

**What problems is Proton Mail For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Protects my data and information from Google and Microsoft. Helps ensure my data is not used for ad targeting or training AI systems.

 ### 14. Subscribed 6 years no issues

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan R. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Mail For Business?**

I appreciate that security is the #1 priority by design, and that Proton has continued to stand behind that commitment even when facing legal challenges aimed at undermining user trust. The app feels stable and well built, with a pleasant UI; something that really shouldn’t be as rare as it is these days compared to other products.

**What do you dislike about Proton Mail For Business?**

Sometimes I wish the web UI offered more options for searching and sorting emails, but that’s where Protonmail Gateway comes in, since it lets me use my preferred email client instead.

**What problems is Proton Mail For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When I create a new username/login for a website, I use the Proton catch-all feature paired with Sieve email filtering so I can have a separate email address for each external service I sign in to. For example, I can create aws@mydomain.com to sign in to Amazon Web Services, then have messages sent to that address automatically sorted into a folder called “aws,” with notifications individually turned on or off for that specific address. This approach is more secure (if that email or its password is compromised it doesn't affect others), it is more organized and it also helps protect my privacy because other services don’t see my main email address or learn what else I use, which helps limit tracking.

 ### 15. Great product and great customer service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kami H.

**Reviewed Date:** May 27, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Mail For Business?**

Initially, the main driver of switching to Proton Mail was the privacy and security provided by Proton Mail. However, since that time, Proton has added services (such as VPN, Drive, Calendar etc.) that have been nice additions to the platform. Proton's customer service is also great - responsive, knowledgeable, and you are not passed around to a bunch of different agents to resolve your issues. I highly recommend Proton for any business that is concerned with the security of their communications and wants the added benefits of a suite of productivity apps that can help them with their business.

**What do you dislike about Proton Mail For Business?**

The biggest downside was initially marrying up our email clients with our Proton accounts. However, the most recent versions of the mail bridge have simplified this process.

**What problems is Proton Mail For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I don't want all our email communications to become data for someone else to profit from. I don't have this concern with Proton Mail and I feel confident that our email is secure.

 ### 16. Utterly reliable

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jules L.

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Mail For Business?**

Efficiency. Elegance. Simplicity. Effectiveness. Security. Encryption. In particular, I work with writers scattered all across the world. Many of them have incurred the wrath of their governments. Proton Mail enables me to communicate with them in a manner that protects them from surveillance and reprisal.

**What do you dislike about Proton Mail For Business?**

I have not found any disadvantages. Sorry to disappoint you. I have used Proton's products for ten years and have not found any of them to be flawed. Nor have I been disappointed. I am in fact pleased by their ongoing effort to improve the products they have created already and to create new ones.

**What problems is Proton Mail For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As noted above, safe and secure communication with writers who work in environments dangerous to their well-being.

 ### 17. Love the dedication to security and continuous updates/new additions

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Proton Mail For Business?**

I thought the transition from Gsuite would be hard but it's been easeful and smooth. I have a product-based start-up and as a small business owner Proton Mail for Business has felt so aligned. I appreciate the affordable monthly cost that comes with a generous amount of aliases, websites that can be used for email, password software, authenticator software, VPN, and the whole workspace that I haven't fully explored yet as it was just launched recently. I love that each year you renew your account you're rewarded with an increase in storage space. It truly feels like a company that genuinely cares about doing right. I'm truly in love with having been with Proton for over 3 years now for my business.

**What do you dislike about Proton Mail For Business?**

The only downside I see is that the calendar doesn't integrate as smoothly as Gmail's calendar does with my apple calendar. I haven't been able to sync it properly to setup an appointment calendar that can know blocked off dates between Proton business calendar and my personal calendar -- not sure if this is on me not knowing how to set it up or that the functionality doesn't exist yet.

**What problems is Proton Mail For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's solving the insane amount of data harvesting that is becoming endless everywhere you turn. I really am a person that votes with my dollars and this company is so aligned for me as compared to tech giants that are so profit-driven that ethical, moral business practice is completely lost on them. I feel it's still in tact with Proton and I hope it continues that way.

 ### 18. Reliable and Secure

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jake S.

**Reviewed Date:** June 07, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Mail For Business?**

I love the security and customization options they provide as a part of the service. I pay per user, but have a high number of custom domains, email addresses, calendars, VPN connections and access to Proton Pass all for the one reasonable price. I also appreciate that they are consistently improving their product and adding new features.

**What do you dislike about Proton Mail For Business?**

There haven't been any major issues. I've been happy to pay the subscription year on year.

**What problems is Proton Mail For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Security assurance for the data stored in our accounts. We have previously had a negative experience with another major provider and made the switch. Haven't looked back since.

 ### 19. No Doubt

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Doktor S. | Null-731, Consulting, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Mail For Business?**

Proton Mail is a solid service.
Yes, privacy and security are paramount.
But the key with Proton Mail is it is well organised.
Not bloated.

For me, in migrating to Proton years back, these were key reasons for doing it.

Sure, most people cite privacy.
But no firm can run just on that.

They have to offer productivity and ease-of-use.

Proton does.
Unlike big tech offerings, Proton does inject features left right and centre —
most of which you don't need or simply get in the way of use.

The phone app is fast, and again, just works.
No bloat.

Privacy matters.
Proton has long been known for that.
But the key is Proton Mail is just superior tech.

**What do you dislike about Proton Mail For Business?**

Simply that the phone app needs to incorporate live links.
Past in a link and it's active.
This is one area where I'd say:
"Come on, get it sorted now!"

**What problems is Proton Mail For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As an email service it has all I need.
Labelling and sorting are very good, and critical to keeping me organised.
Above all the design architecture is very clear.
You can just get to it without having to think about it —
which is number one in a fast moving environment.

 ### 20. Secure and easy

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Mail For Business?**

Generally I like the mentality that Proton has around data. I'm happy to pay money because their service costs money to run. Previously I paid google cloud money and while I know it also costs google money to operate they are making money both on me as a customer and from advertisers. As a result their intensives are split between me and the corparations that are paying them for my data. Proton as far as I know primarily makes money from it's users so it's incentivized to serve users first and foremost. It shows in the years I've been a paying customer they are consistently emailing me about new features and I'm always like cool I was happy with just email but yet they continue to add more features. The latest one is meetings I haven't used it yet but next time I need to do a video call I plan to try it out. If it works well then I'll never need to use zoom or google meet again.

**What do you dislike about Proton Mail For Business?**

Niche problem but their contacts tab could use a little work. I use it as a backup for my phone contacts and as a result my phone contacts have been filled with every single email address I've ever emailed even the one time Craigslist ones. I wish there was an option to export only contacts with phone numbers. Also mobile email search (content, not just subject line) would be nice but since I switched to a dumb phone this hasn't been a problem an annoyance.

**What problems is Proton Mail For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Been using it for email for years now was able to get rid of google and rarely miss it.

 ### 21. The Best Option for Small Businesses

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris R. | Crisis Response Team Leader

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Mail For Business?**

I have been using Proton as a small business owner now for over two years. I believe it is the best option out there for things such as email and password management. I have my domain setup for email and use their VPN services. Everything works with such ease and my data feels more safer than handing it over to some of the other tech giants. They have continued to improve year over year (often taking suggestions from users) and their "workspace" has allowed for such easy integration of services. Additionally you get all their services for one simple price.

**What do you dislike about Proton Mail For Business?**

If I had to choose something, I would state their email app could use a IO improvement, but its not bad - I'm partially being picky here.

**What problems is Proton Mail For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Proton mail allows me to easily keep my personal email and business email within one app (both secure) and simply switch between them depending on what I am doing. No need to open up multiple email applications.

 ### 22. A large scale privacy focused business suite that is always improving

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Samuel-Jean B. | Quality Assurance Specialist

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Mail For Business?**

Good pricing and a company that actually respects its users. Features are being added and improved and it has come a long way from the early days. It’s easy and straight forward to manage domains, aliases, addresses, users, and everything else that is unnecessarily complicated on other mainstream solutions. Proton has covered all basic business needs with its full suite of tools, so it doesn’t feel like you’re missing anything huge.

**What do you dislike about Proton Mail For Business?**

Drive stands to be improved the most with lack of fine API access and a better way to sort files. Docs would be nicer if it supported more formats, custom export, etc.

**What problems is Proton Mail For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Making it easy to communicate and collaborate with team members in a secure, private environment without excessive bloat and confusing administration regimes. Things just work, and that’s important especially given the natural benefit of the privacy background.

 ### 23. Using Proton for a game studio startup

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James A.

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Mail For Business?**

Proton Mail makes it easy to setup custom domains (one or many) - safely! They handle the complexities in getting things like SPF and DKIM configured properly in a straightforward step by step process. I also really appreciate the administration dashboard: it's well laid out, easy to understand and easy to manage individual users and - importantly - has stayed consistent over time, without the frequent, arbitrary changes often seen from other tech companies.

**What do you dislike about Proton Mail For Business?**

Setting up things like forwarding addresses or shared inboxes has been difficult/impossible. I recognize that this is difficult to do while maintaining the high degree of privacy & security that Proton builds its brand around but businesses often need an address that multiple users can access (eg, a "support@company.com" address) and simply creating an account with shared login credentials is less than ideal for a number of reasons (no access control, poor security, adds unnecessary cost to name just a few). Proton does recognize this and has been taking steps to get this feature available, but I don't feel like it's there yet & after implementing some of their earlier methods of handling forwarding addresses I now find myself stuck with a forwarding address tied to a specific user account & unable to migrate without losing data.

**What problems is Proton Mail For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When selecting products and services of any sort for my business, I prioritize security first and foremost but more broadly I select products that do one job, do it well and do it transparently. With Proton I can understand what the product is for, how it does it and what the terms of using it are. I have confidence that I can use and trust email for my business without worrying about the provider changing its terms and/or revoking access on a whim.

 ### 24. Good alternative to Gmail

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jon S. | Artist

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Mail For Business?**

I am a self-employed freelancer and need an email system to manage business emails coming to and being sent from my domain. Because it is free, I used to use Gmail for this purpose but I did not enjoy using a Google product (because of their business practices) and I struggled to reconcile their policies with the data protection requirements I needed for my self and my clients. Switching to Proton was very straightforward and Proton Mail has almost all of the functionality I had got used to with Gmail. The monthly price is affordable and I am able to meet (and demonstrate) my data protection requirements much more easily, which makes the price worth paying.

**What do you dislike about Proton Mail For Business?**

Some of the functionality that you get used to when working with a well-established setup, such as Gmail, isn't available within Proton Mail. The vast majority of functionality I need is there, but a few things (mostly around folder structure and cataloguing/categorising of emails) isn't yet available.

**What problems is Proton Mail For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Proton Mail allows me to demonstrate that I am taking data protection seriously, through encrypted emails and more transparent handling of email storage and sharing. I was able to easily connect my own domain to Proton Mail so I can send and receive emails as my business domain, while benefiting from the security protection offered by Proton Mail.

 ### 25. Secure business email that is easy to trust

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kevin K. | Senior Integration Consultant

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Mail For Business?**

Proton Mail for Business gives me a much stronger sense of privacy and control than most typical business email platforms. The encryption, clean interface, custom domain support, and overall reliability make it easy to use day to day, without feeling like I’m sacrificing usability for security. It’s been a solid fit for professional communication, especially in situations where privacy and data ownership really matter.

**What do you dislike about Proton Mail For Business?**

The biggest downside for me is that some integrations and advanced workflow features don’t feel as seamless as they do in larger business email ecosystems like Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace. There can also be a bit of friction when collaborating with people or using tools that assume everyone is on Gmail or Outlook. Still, I find the privacy and security benefits well worth that tradeoff.

**What problems is Proton Mail For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Proton Mail for Business addresses my need for a professional email service that stays private and secure, without relying on ad-driven data models. It provides encrypted email, support for a custom domain, and a business-ready inbox, with privacy treated as the default rather than an afterthought.

 ### 26. A more secure communication and storage experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Mail For Business?**

I migrated to Proton Mail for Business from Google Workspace and from an attempt to host my own mail server in the cloud. Proton Mail for Business gives me the control I need for a reasonable price and with a reputation for security. Since I've migrated to the platform, I have had far less spam and overall email issues. I highly recommend this product to anyone that is looking for a secure, simple, and safe email provider. To add, the combination of servicea available in the Business level subscription definitely makes the price worth it.

**What do you dislike about Proton Mail For Business?**

The only negative take that I gave for Proton Mail for Business is the application. There are functions within the application itself that are easier with Google than Proton Mail. For example, archiving email is a two or three step process in the Proton Mail Android app whereas in Google that is a normal main page function.

**What problems is Proton Mail For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The price with Google was an issue for the amount of features available. Hosting on my own server was overall problematic as I'm sure anyone that's tried that knows. Proton Mail for Business is a great solution for these issues and allows me to think less about my email I'm general and just get stuff done.

 ### 27. Proton Email suits my needs

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lorin R. | Consultant, AI for Small Business

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Mail For Business?**

The primary advantage is encryption/security, the overall privacy business model that Proton brings to the table. This is diametrically opposite of the Google-gmail approach, where Google owns your data, has no problem mining, using and/or sharing it, in spite of what they "promise." With Proton, what's mine is indeed mine, and they honor and respect my privacy and ownership rights to my own data (emails).

**What do you dislike about Proton Mail For Business?**

The Proton Email Client (either in-browser or standalone-app) is the weakest link here. This essential tool (how else to read/create/manage your email?) needs serious attention and re-engineering from Proton. Yes, I "could" use Mozilla Thunderbird, or some other client, via the Proton Bridge. But... I don't want to. Hope that someday (soon) Proton Email Client gets: adjustable-size fonts (current fonts are tiny for old eyes), better folder/subfolder management and utility, a better email writer (more text features), and more. Looks like the Proton User Forum is full of great suggestions directly from users, but not much software (feature/enhancement) development seems to be going on... Is Proton committed to the user experience too?

**What problems is Proton Mail For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Privacy.

 ### 28. Intuitive User Interface

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Russell R.

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Mail For Business?**

I find the user interface to be very user friendly. When I am juggling multiple tasks the last thing I want to do is fumble with an overly complex email user interface. Proton Mail delivers a simple to use format, easy to search and find archived emails and it is consistent from my phone to my laptop.

**What do you dislike about Proton Mail For Business?**

My only dislike is that I have not been able to find a way to migrate one of my employees email accounts over from another service provider without risking to loss of several years of archives embedded in his email software. I can use Proton Bridge to bring his email files over on his laptop but unfrtunately Proton Bridge does not work on his mobile device so he stuck using a different email service provider.

**What problems is Proton Mail For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The mail problem Proton Mail solves for me ease of use. I have virtually never had a tech support issue to deal with. Its design is super robust and reliable thus allowing me to focus my time and energy on work, not solving software problems.

 ### 29. Private, Reliable Email That Works Well for My Business

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brian W.

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Mail For Business?**

I like that ProtonMail gives my business a professional email platform without handing my data over to Google or another company that mines it for advertising.

**What do you dislike about Proton Mail For Business?**

The only real drawback I have noticed is that calendar invites can be a little clunky because I sometimes have to download the ICS file and manually add it to my calendar.

**What problems is Proton Mail For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ProtonMail for Business solves the problem of needing a reliable business email system while still protecting my privacy and ownership of my data. I do not want my business communications being scanned, data-mined, or used to target me with ads.

It gives me peace of mind knowing that my email is private, secure, and not part of the big-tech advertising ecosystem. It works well for daily business use, and I appreciate that Proton is constantly improving the platform. Even where there are small inconveniences, like calendar invites being slightly clunky, the tradeoff is absolutely worth it for the privacy and control I get.

 ### 30. Very User-Friendly and non-controlling

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Karolyn H. | Freelance Editor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Mail For Business?**

Very user friendly. Easy to create/organize labels and folders. Easy to find account info and settings. Great for prioritizing current clients and also referencing past conversations with previous clients. Love that emails are encrypted. I trust that Proton is not selling my data. Spam detection is great.

**What do you dislike about Proton Mail For Business?**

Not being able to search for words/phrases within emails. The search function only allows searching the subject line, sender, and receiver.

**What problems is Proton Mail For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Previously, I used Gmail and it was horrible. Not user friendly, and the settings and labels and folders were so complicated. Plus, Gmail tries to be my nanny and control everything I write and do within the program and their support is non-existant. Proton allows me to decline AI "assistance", choose mandatory log in, and make my own writing choices, etc. Proton Business allows me to organize my business contacts easily, and set up filters easily. I feel my data/emails is are much safer and protected by Proton. I've only had to contact Proton support a couple times, I believe, and they were very competent.

 ### 31. Proton: Affordable, Trustworthy, Accessible Privacy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sarah O.

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Mail For Business?**

I most value that my content is not mined to target me for ads, that the AI feature doesn’t insert itself, uninvited as I am writing and that if I were to use AI, my content doesn’t feed back to train an LLM. I also love the ease with which I can encrypt messages. Lastly, messaging with the Proton name in my address communicates to patients and colleagues that I actively support our right to have private lives free from covert and overt surveillance

**What do you dislike about Proton Mail For Business?**

I don’t think they offer a BAA, so I don’t use their drive to store PHI. I don’t include patient identifiers in messages containing health information on any email platform, so that’s not a downside for me about Proton.

**What problems is Proton Mail For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I loathe email, but it is a ubiquitous and necessary tool for communication. Proton provides a secure email account with my name and degree in it, and now that it ends in @proton.me, it’s slick and professional looking. I need an email account, Proton provides one, solving my need for an email account. I benefit because I have the ability to use email to coordinate care with colleagues.

 ### 32. Structural failure: no escalation path, no enterprise response, no accountability

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Mail For Business?**

Proton's end-to-end encryption model is technically sound, and their commitment to Swiss privacy law and zero-access architecture is genuine. The core email product is reliable, and the privacy-first approach is exactly what organizations handling sensitive communications need. The product itself is not the problem.

**What do you dislike about Proton Mail For Business?**

Proton's enterprise support structure is fundamentally broken for business customers. I made eight formal escalation requests over several weeks, asking to be routed to someone with commercial authority. Every request was absorbed by the support tier and never executed. I requested escalation to the Proton Foundation and executive leadership no fewer than eight times. Every request was acknowledged and ignored.
When I located their enterprise email address and sent a detailed inquiry describing a potential 50-seat Workspace deployment worth between $7,794 and $11,994 per year, I gave their enterprise team six full business days to respond. They said nothing.
The core issue is that when Workspace launched, Business Suite customers were migrated automatically at no cost. Legacy Business customers — despite having functionally identical product access — were told to upgrade manually, thereby terminating their paid subscriptions early and forfeiting a lifetime discount. The financial difference was approximately $6 per year. Proton chose to ignore a potential $11,994 annual contract rather than bridge an $11 gap over the remaining 22 months of a paid subscription.
The support agents acted in good faith within their authority. The failure is structural. There is no functional path from a legacy business customer to anyone with commercial authority at Proton.

**What problems is Proton Mail For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Proton Mail for Business was intended to address my organization's need for a privacy-first, sovereign communications platform to replace a Microsoft 365 Government Community Cloud High environment. The product architecture is well-suited to that problem. The company's support and enterprise structure is not.
I was evaluating Proton Workspace as a proof of concept for a 50-seat deployment. That evaluation was derailed entirely by Proton's inability to route a legitimate enterprise inquiry to anyone authorized to address it. The product solves the right problem. The organization behind it is not equipped to serve enterprise customers who need more than a Zendesk ticket.
If you are a small team with straightforward needs, Proton Mail for Business will serve you well. If you are an enterprise evaluator, a legacy Business customer, or anyone who may need to escalate beyond frontline support, go in with your eyes open.

 ### 33. Privacy Focused

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Victor K. | Data Analyst - Transportation Coordinator

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Mail For Business?**

Proton Mail combines strong privacy and security with an interface that’s genuinely easy to use day to day. Its end-to-end encryption and other privacy-focused features give me confidence that my data stays protected, and the apps themselves feel polished, fast, and reliable. I also appreciate that Proton is transparent about its mission and clearly puts user privacy first, rather than leaning on advertising or data collection. On top of that, the integration with the broader Proton ecosystem is a major plus and makes the overall experience feel more cohesive.

**What do you dislike about Proton Mail For Business?**

Honestly, there isn’t much to dislike. Still, some of the more advanced features and integrations can feel a bit limited compared with long-established providers like Gmail or Outlook. Even so, I think the tradeoff is worth it: stronger privacy and a cleaner experience that feels far less ad-driven.

**What problems is Proton Mail For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Safe and Secure Email

 ### 34. Secure and Efficient Alternative to Google

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matt J. | Founder, Host & Lead Writer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Mail For Business?**

I really appreciate Proton Mail For Business for its secure email, great integration, and easy-to-use calendar. It makes scheduling meetings effortless, and I can respond to emails quickly and securely. I like that I don't have to rely on Google or Microsoft for everything, and I prefer working with Proton. Their customer service is top-notch, and setting it up was a perfect 10 out of 10.

**What do you dislike about Proton Mail For Business?**

I think they could work on remembering my e-mail rules better. When I put things in the trash, I wasn't meaning for the e-mails to be considered spam.

**What problems is Proton Mail For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Proton Mail For Business for secure email, great integration, and an easy-to-use calendar that helps me schedule meetings easily and respond to emails quickly and securely. It allows me to not rely on Google or Microsoft for everything.

 ### 35. Excellent reliable and secure product

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Remi P.

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Mail For Business?**

The simplicity, the security, the interface, and several other functions
I really like the updates that provide new features.
For me, security is the most important thing, and Proton is, in my opinion, a trustworthy company for the end-to-end encryption that ProtonMail offers.
Managing multiple domain names to add emails is very easy.

**What do you dislike about Proton Mail For Business?**

I would like to be able to sign up for it, however, since the years I’ve been using ProtonMail, everything has always been consistent and very simple.
That’s exactly why, for all the positive reasons, I’ve stayed with Proton for my services for several years.

**What problems is Proton Mail For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The most advanced data protection allows me to guarantee increased security for my communications and the storage of my emails.
Moreover, as some laws are becoming increasingly strict on the management of personal data, this encryption reassures me because it greatly reduces the risk.

 ### 36. Very satisfied with Proton after switching from MS365 Business

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Georg P. | ICT Spezialist bei papanet gmbh

**Reviewed Date:** April 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Mail For Business?**

Much is very intuitive. Simply open an alias address and select the sender.

**What do you dislike about Proton Mail For Business?**

In certain areas, there are restrictions that bother me. For example, with automatic replies: I wanted to insert an image for the holiday absence, but that was only possible to a limited extent. Therefore, I left out the company logo.

When deleting, it would be nice to be able to mark multiple emails so that they can be deleted together. Also, in the email view, I would find it helpful to be able to switch directly to the next email with the arrow key.

Additionally, I wish for better Linux integration; for example, the combination of email and Proton Cloud is currently not optimal for me.

**What problems is Proton Mail For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I started with Mail Plus and my private email address at Proton and then decided to switch my company structure to Proton as well. I didn't want to keep switching back and forth between accounts, so I integrated my private Protonmail into my business email. I was able to make this change very easily and still set them up separately in the email program using filter rules.

 ### 37. Peace of Mind

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Elizabeth R.

**Reviewed Date:** April 15, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Mail For Business?**

Proton Mail for Business gives me peace of mind, when it comes to encryption, privacy, and aligning with my values. All of the tools are so easy to set up and use so you don't have to be super tech savvy to use them. I love the mission of Proton. It makes me feel safe in communicating with clients about private matters.

**What do you dislike about Proton Mail For Business?**

I wish it was more affordable and that some features did not require that others had Proton accounts to allow for sharing. I wish it was more widely used and having lower pricing might allow for that option. It would also help if Proton helped people understand how keeping our data private as a group helps us all. I get so frustrated when people say "I"m ok if Google reads my emails." That's not what it's about! It's about opting out of their corrupt system as a whole!

**What problems is Proton Mail For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is meeting my need for privacy. I also love Proton Pass so much. I had used KeePass for 7 years and did not want to switch until I saw Proton Pass' built in two factor authentication. It has drastically improved my time online!

 ### 38. Data privacy in an increasingly authoritarian world

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kenny B. | Programmeur analyste

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Mail For Business?**

What I like most about Proton Mail is that I can easily enjoy the benefits of end-to-end encryption for my emails, and it makes it easy for me to protect myself against identity theft through various products like Proton Sentinel, which will check the Dark Web for any leaks on my current email addresses, or the ability to easily create email aliases for different online accounts. Proton Mail allows you to have an easy advanced use of a secure email and adapts to your technical level, so it will appeal to both beginners and more technically advanced users.

**What do you dislike about Proton Mail For Business?**

The fact that one can only manage one email address at a time is not a major issue in my opinion, but it's certain that when using the Proton Mail client installed natively on the computer, it would be interesting if it could manage more than one email account at a time.

**What problems is Proton Mail For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In a world where data privacy is increasingly neglected, the possibility of having tools designed by cybersecurity professionals is a considerable advantage, because no one can predict how far the authoritarianism of a state can go, so securing the information exchanged between people is becoming more and more essential.

 ### 39. Makes Privacy Simple for Charities/Non-Profits

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christopher C. | Executive Director, Non-Profit Organization Management, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Mail For Business?**

I have been using proton mail as a user in the early years and really fell in love with the simplicity of how it makes privacy and security, so simple so it really made sense to go with proton mail years later when I found it national charity, it places, way less stress on an organization to be able to uphold to the highest standards of encryption And confidentiality with the people we communicate with

**What do you dislike about Proton Mail For Business?**

The only thing is I think the discount for nonprofits or charities should be more 20% is extremely on the low side and proton being a nonprofit as well. Should understand this.

**What problems is Proton Mail For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I think it solves a lot of problems with sending emails outside of proton mail users and encrypting those to ensure privacy and following privacy laws

 ### 40. The only email service I recommend

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mental Health Care

**Reviewed Date:** June 22, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Mail For Business?**

Due to increasing concerns about privacy and surveillance, Proton is the only email I will use and the only one I recommend to other mental health professionals. It doesn’t have lots of fancy frills, but there are none that are worth the tradeoff when it comes to security, especially with sensitive data that needs to be HIPAA complaint or better.

**What do you dislike about Proton Mail For Business?**

It has lacked some bells and whistles compared to other options, but they continue to improve and add features. There are still some features I miss that helped me stay organized, like multiple inboxes or ways to keep certain items at the top of the inbox so they don’t get lost in a flurry of new mail. I still feel that security is more important, and hope the usability increases over time.

**What problems is Proton Mail For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It’s very hard to find option to send secure and encrypted messages to mental health and healthcare professionals without breaking the bank. I appreciate that this is built in and available, along with trusting it’s security won’t be compromised.

**What do you like best about Proton Mail For Business?**

I like the ability to create different identities for each account, and the added space that comes with it!

**What do you dislike about Proton Mail For Business?**

It can be difficult to navigate and set up other email accounts to sync correctly. Also since my emails are displayed from here, if I happen to respond to one from another email inbox, it will respond with my email here instead of the email I am getting IN the client.

**What problems is Proton Mail For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

the ablility to have all my emails in one place!

 ### 42. Describe Protect your privacy with Proton — secure email, VPN, drive, and more.

**What do you like best about Proton Mail For Business?**

What I like best about Proton Mail For Business is its uncompromising end-to-end encryption combined with the company's Swiss jurisdiction, which ensures maximum privacy and protection from surveillance.

**What do you dislike about Proton Mail For Business?**

What I dislike about Proton Mail For Business is the occasional need for ongoing interaction with third-party services like Google, along with the limited native Linux app support that currently only covers Mail and Calendar instead of the full suite.

**What problems is Proton Mail For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Proton Mail For Business solves critical problems like insecure email communication, data privacy risks, and reliance on big tech providers by delivering end-to-end encrypted email with Swiss jurisdiction, which benefits me by enabling secure, compliant day-to-day management of communications with business clients and partners while giving me full peace of mind.

 ### 43. Security Upgraded

**What do you like best about Proton Mail For Business?**

Unlike Google, or other mail services; Proton doesn’t read your stuff. I feel more secure using Proton than any other mail service. It’s also very very easy to create aliases so I can use the same email to check but give different email addresses customized to whichever business I am doing.

**What do you dislike about Proton Mail For Business?**

I can’t really find anything to dislike… it’s a mail services. I put my email address down somewhere, and Proton delivers.

**What problems is Proton Mail For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Security! My problem was that Google was reading my stuff and pushing AI down every which way they could. I don’t want AI training on my stuff, I don’t want Google in my emails. Proton doesn’t do any of that!

 ### 44. I'm a big fan

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Proton Mail For Business?**

A few years ago I switched to using Proton because my email address at the time was being repeatedly hacked/accessed from IP addresses all around the globe every couple of minutes. Seeing in real time all of the active breaches every few minutes caused me to feel heavy with worry and stress.I have felt so much more at ease since using Proton for my communications, calendaring and files. The encryption aspect is why I got an account and since using Proton, I experience less privacy concerns and generally feel more confident that my data is being safeguarded. I use and enjoy the benefits of employing the hide-my-email feature and report phishing. I'm able to manage email aliases and organize inboxes using filters pretty easily. I like that I can create a structure to enhance my own workflows. Overall, I've been a fan of Proton and thankful I found it and switched when I did.

**What do you dislike about Proton Mail For Business?**

I wish the other systems and platforms I use integrated with Proton so I could build a more connected ecosystem. Like Zapier for example.

**What problems is Proton Mail For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solves my privacy concerns and allows me to streamline my day to day operations and some of my workflows pretty seamlessly.

 ### 45. Arguably the best email and business suite out there.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Mail For Business?**

The best thing about Proton is its privacy. You can trust it. Of course, it is never about how protected the tech is, because no tech is fully protected. It's always about what's admissible in court and what isn't. In general, Proton can at least protect you from bad actors who are note high-level deep state. And when it comes to the deep state, you at least have plausible deniability (they would have to reveal their illicit or secret methods of getting to your information in order to use the information against you in any way, and in most cases they won't do that). Tools are convenient, the phone apps work great. The UI is clean and simple. Enough said.

**What do you dislike about Proton Mail For Business?**

It's so well private and encrypted that the drive system cannot be used for consultant style work very well, like Google Drive can. It's a trade off, but a worthy one.

**What problems is Proton Mail For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Safety, ease of use, and quality of support.

 ### 46. Great privacy, modern design, and zero hassle.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Mail For Business?**

Honestly, the best part for me is the privacy. Knowing that everything is end-to-end encrypted by default gives me huge peace of mind, especially when handling sensitive business data.
On top of that, the features and design are great. The interface looks modern and clean, so it’s really easy to navigate. It doesn't feel clunky like some other secure platforms.
Overall, it’s just super convenient. You get the top-tier security you need for a business without having to sacrifice usability or deal with a steep learning curve. It just works.

**What do you dislike about Proton Mail For Business?**

The mobile app definitely needs some work when it comes to folder management. I have a ton of folders, and right now, they are always fully expanded in the mobile view. There's no way to collapse them, which makes navigation pretty messy.
Also, you can't reorder them using drag-and-drop directly from the main view. If you want to change the order, you have to dig into the settings on the web version, which is just annoying. Making folder organization more flexible on mobile would be a huge upgrade.

**What problems is Proton Mail For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For me, the biggest problem Proton solves is the forced dependency on Big Tech monopolies like Google or Microsoft. With traditional providers, you always feel like your business data, emails, and client communications are being scanned, indexed, and used for profile building. Proton completely cuts that cord.
The end-to-end encryption solves a massive trust problem. It means I don't have to just "take a company's word" that my data is safe—it’s structurally impossible for anyone else to read it.
How it benefits me:
It gives me total ownership of my business data and a level of privacy that Big Tech simply refuses to offer. Plus, it’s a great selling point for my own clients; I can confidently tell them that our correspondence is fully secured and private.

 ### 47. Better Than Imagined

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Proton Mail For Business?**

The user interface is remarkable. I came to Proton from two of the most popular services as a slight skeptic, but I immediately appreciated how much control it gave me over my business communications. Even though I knew less than most—after being coddled by other services—I was able to quickly learn how to set up domains, DNS, and everything else with Proton’s support. I’ll be switching my personal accounts to Proton as well; the ease of use is worth the price.

**What do you dislike about Proton Mail For Business?**

I haven't found anything I dislike to date.

**What problems is Proton Mail For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Immediate contact with the team and our leads is the top of that list. I can send attachments without fear of interception.

 ### 48. Secure Inboxes without the Hassle

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Mail For Business?**

Proton Mail for Business takes all the hassle out of using secure email. The user experience and design make it feel better than any other secure email offering, and are actually better than most mail applications. It's easy to use and organize.

**What do you dislike about Proton Mail For Business?**

The only thing I dislike about Proton Mail for Business is that sometimes the "protonmail" name makes users who are unfamiliar with it be suspicious of it. People who are used to gmail, yahoo, and outlook and aren't familiar with protonmail have hesitation entering it online. Luckily, with the custom domain mapping you can mitigate this.

**What problems is Proton Mail For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Proton Mail for Business lets me manage my inboxes for projects and communications in a secure way, without additional trackers or security concerns.

 ### 49. Proton Mail struggles with microsoft outlook clients

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Luxury Goods & Jewelry

**Reviewed Date:** June 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Mail For Business?**

I do like that the emails are secure and not being used to target ads at me all of the time. I feel like the email is between me, my client, and their ad targeting platform (I know for a fact that they dont use proton mail)

**What do you dislike about Proton Mail For Business?**

Proton Mail struggles with telling where outlook emails end. So each email from our biggest clients has the entire email history at each "email". It does fine with being able to tell up until our own signature with the standard "--" beginning, but our clients use a horizontal bar which PM does not seem to recognize.

**What problems is Proton Mail For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When we hosted our own email our emails were often sent to spam, but by having Proton handle it all not only are our emails encrypted (with a small subset of clients) but our emails are having a higher success rate of getting seen.

 ### 50. Most secure and reliable service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** William S.

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Mail For Business?**

I use Proton for my business because I needed a safe, secure email service and electronic storage. In our industry, cybersecurity is a major concern. Before switching, I was using another provider that had the ability to see and read my correspondence with customers. Since they are based in the U.S., there was also the possibility that my data could be viewed by their government. I can’t have client information out in the cyberverse.

**What do you dislike about Proton Mail For Business?**

I can’t think of anything else at the moment. It would be nice if I could integrate my Apple Calendar with the Proton Calendar, or use email with Calendly. Even better would be if Proton created an online scheduler and a CRM.

**What problems is Proton Mail For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It keeps my correspondence private.
