## Projectworks Reviews
 ### 1. Reliable, Data-Rich Projectworks with Great Integrations and Support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stefi G. | Project Lead, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Projectworks?**

I think the depth of information that we can add along with Project Risks, Industry type or any other custom field that we can add. Projectworks has been a helpful tool to understand gross margin, project status, and key trends that we need in operations. In terms of UI/UX I think it's simple and very straightforward. Some icons just needs further improvement. Love that it has integration options for xero , and an sql database connector for Azue to looker studio. In terms of performance, no downtime that I can recall. Very reliable in getting accurate data required. In terms of pricing i think we're getting the value out of Projectworks as we use it to drive key business decisions. In terms of support, we get immediate answers if ever we need help. One thing that would be very useful to is to have AI Claude connector, AI . AI Would really help automate things around encoding.

**What do you dislike about Projectworks?**

The least thing I dislike about projectworks is pinning timecodes manually, whenever I create a timecode that should already be pinned automatically on the user's timesheet.

**What problems is Projectworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gross margin / profit monitoring.

 ### 2. Time-Consuming UI for Adding Staff to Projects and Timecodes

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kieran F. | Customer Solutions Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2026

**What do you like best about Projectworks?**

With API Access, I was able to create integrations with our internal products to improve efficiency across the business. We also used ProjectWorks as our consistent, cross-region leave management and timesheeting tool

**What do you dislike about Projectworks?**

The user interface means that adding staff members to projects and time codes is very time-consuming. The integrations into our tools are poorly designed and inefficient. A product like Clockify provides a much better experience when using its add-on. The product is also very expensive for what we use in the product. The resource management was so complex tas to be useless in our case.

**What problems is Projectworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ProjectWorks provides our timesheets. Previously, it also managed our leave and integrated with XERO, which worked well and provided us with a single, consistent point of entry that automatically filled out staff members' timesheets.

**Official Response from Bernadette Keating:**

> Hi Kieran, I'm sorry to hear that your experience of Projectworks wasn't quite what you wanted it to be and I appreciate your honest feedback on your firm's experience. It's great to hear that the API access was beneficial for your business, as well as consistent leave management and timesheeting.

We are currently undertaking a substantial review and upgrade of resourcing so your thoughts will be valuable - I'd like to offer you a 1:1 meeting with our Product Owner who is doing this work. If you'd like to meet with them to discuss your thoughts, please get in touch at support@projectworks.com. Thank you again for sharing your feedback with us.

 ### 3. Game changer for managing projects and team workloads

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rahul N. | DevOps Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Projectworks?**

Projectworks has really made managing our projects a lot easier. It brings everything together in one place planning, team workload, budgeting, and invoicing. The visual timeline helps us spot any potential delays before they even happen, and the dashboard with charts makes everything super easy to understand. The timesheet feature is simple, so our team can track their time accurately and we can create invoices without any hassle. The heat map shows if anyone is overloaded with work, which helps us balance things out. It works well with other tools like Salesforce, so we can easily transfer data when needed. Since it is web-based, we can access it from anywhere, making our work more flexible. Plus, the customer support is always quick and helpful whenever we need assistance.

**What do you dislike about Projectworks?**

One thing I would like to see improved with Projectworks is even more integrations with other tools we use. While it works well with tools like Salesforce, adding more options would make the data transfer even smoother. Sometimes, a little more customization in reports would also be helpful for our specific needs.

**What problems is Projectworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Projectworks has made managing projects much easier by bringing everything into one place. Instead of juggling multiple tools, we can handle everything from planning and tracking team workloads to managing budgets and creating invoices. The visual timelines help us spot any potential delays early, and the timesheet feature ensures accurate time tracking for invoicing. It also lets us quickly see if someone’s overwhelmed with work, allowing us to adjust before it becomes a problem. With budgeting and forecasting tools, we can stay on top of finances and plan for the future.

**Official Response from Bernadette Keating:**

> Thanks Rahul for your considered review. It's so great to hear that Projectworks has had such a positive impact on your project management process and helped you to stop juggling multiple tools. We're pleased that our features, such as the timesheets, heat maps and Salesforce integration, have been instrumental in making your work more flexible and efficient.

Please do get in touch with our lovely customer support team to suggest any integrations that you think would work well for you - support@projectworks.com. We're committed to continuing to build out our integration offerings, so we'd love to hear any details.

Thanks again for taking the time to share your experience!

 ### 4. Reliable solution for consulting project management

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nandani K. | SRE, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Projectworks?**

Projectworks has been really helpful for managing our consulting projects because it fits well with the way our team works. It makes it easier to handle project planning, team workload, and finances all in one place. One thing I find very useful is the ability to see project profitability and forecast future revenue, which helps us plan ahead and manage budgets better. The resource heat map also helps quickly see if someone is overloaded with work or if someone has extra capacity. I also like how simple the time tracking and invoicing process is, especially the easy to use timesheet interface for the team. Since it is web based, we can access it from anywhere, which makes daily work more flexible. On top of that, their support team is very responsive and always helpful when we need assistance.

**What do you dislike about Projectworks?**

One small thing I do not like is that when someone starts using Projectworks for the first time, it can take a little time to understand all the features. Since the platform handles projects, finances, and team planning together, new users may feel a bit confused at the beginning. People usually need some time to explore the system and get used to how everything works. But once the team becomes familiar with it, the platform becomes much easier to use in daily work.

**What problems is Projectworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Projectworks has helped solve one of the biggest problems we used to face, which was managing projects, team workload, and financial tracking in different tools. Earlier, it was difficult to clearly see how profitable a project was or how resources were being used. With Projectworks, we can now track project margins, forecast revenue, and monitor team workload in one place. The resource heat map also helps us quickly identify if someone is overloaded or if there is unused capacity in the team. This has helped us plan projects more carefully, avoid overworking staff, and make better financial decisions.

**Official Response from Bernadette Keating:**

> Hi Nandani, thanks for your positive review of Projectworks! It's great to hear how it fits in with the way your team works and is making things easier for you, especially in regards to your biggest problems you used to face. It's so good that you've seen value in the resource heat map to manage capacity and make better financial decisions.

Our support team will be so pleased to hear your feedback as well. Thanks again for being part of the Projectworks community and for your thoughtful feedback!

 ### 5. Simplified Resourcing and Project Management

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Greg Gillespie E. | Principal, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 28, 2022

**What do you like best about Projectworks?**

I like the simplicity of use of Projectworks, being able to see all of my consultants within one window. It's great for seeing who's entered their timesheet, who hasn't, who's got their resources in, and who hasn't. I also appreciate having a holistic view of what projects are resourced and where our budgets are, along with everything associated with projects in our organization and the consultants working on them. The initial setup of Projectworks was very simple, especially compared to our previous in-house built system, which wasn't nearly as sophisticated. Projectworks allows us to view all of our projects in one location and resource our consultants for extended periods, log time entries, approve time requests, and integrate with our accounting system.

**What do you dislike about Projectworks?**

More notifications within Microsoft Teams would be an ideal feature for us.

**What problems is Projectworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Projectworks centralizes our project management, simplifies resourcing, and integrates time logging and invoicing with our accounting system, giving us a holistic view of all projects and consultants.

**Official Response from Bernadette Keating:**

> Thanks Greg for your detailed, positive review - it's great to hear how Projectworks has centralized your project management while also simplifying resourcing and giving you better visibility of budgets and teams.

We hear you on the new Microsoft Teams integration, it just came out so we'd love to know any more details on what you'd like to see there as we continue to build it out.

Thanks again for continuing to choose Projectworks, we look forward to bringing you even more value this year!

 ### 6. Real-Time Budget Tracking and Flexible Reporting

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 26, 2026

**What do you like best about Projectworks?**

The real-time project status is very helpful, since we can quickly see how much budget is left, especially for clients with strict budgets. The customizable reports are also nice, as long as you have the knowledge to build a report.

Time tracking and the leave features in Projectworks are also useful. The process is straightforward, and the interface is easy to navigate.

**What do you dislike about Projectworks?**

I find the onboarding part a bit limited in terms of what you can enter. I hope it can be integrated with other HR platforms aside from Bamboo. We currently use Hibob, and it would be quicker and easier if the two were connected to reduce manual input.

The customized reporting feature could also be improved to make it more user-friendly. Right now, the process can be difficult to navigate, especially for users who don’t typically use BI tools.

Also, the invoicing part feels very limited since it’s basically just sending an email. I hope there’s an option to set up automated follow-up emails, especially for overdue invoices.

**What problems is Projectworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Projectworks helps us maintain an overall view of project health, especially in tracking projects that may be going over budget. It also provides good visibility of resource allocation, including identifying employees who are currently on the bench, which is helpful for forecasting and planning.

Additionally, it saves a significant amount of time when preparing forecast reports and monitoring project performance.

**Official Response from Bernadette Keating:**

> It's great to hear your detailed feedback and wins as you use Projectworks - we're thrilled to hear that you find the real-time project status, customizable reports, time tracking, and leave features helpful for managing your projects efficiently.

Thanks also for your feedback on our custom reporting feature - it is definitely an advanced feature that is best suited to people with SQL skills. We're continuing to build on our inbuilt report library too, so that we can make data analysis accessible for everyone - let us know if there are any reports you'd expect to see there in future. We are also looking to integrate with further HR platforms this year, so I will definitely pass on your note about Hibob!

If you have any further suggestions, please feel free to reach out. We're here to assist you and ensure you have a seamless experience with Projectworks.

 ### 7. Clear Minute-by-Minute Time Tracking with Helpful Project Breakdowns

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Natacha V. | structural Technician, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 25, 2026

**What do you like best about Projectworks?**

Time tracking is good and clear, and I like that you can track each minute. The leave calendar is helpful to refer back to, and the project breakdowns are easy to understand.

**What do you dislike about Projectworks?**

Admin rights can be confusing, and sometimes it means I don’t have access to things I should.

**What problems is Projectworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The cost breakdown by stages, along with timelines, makes it easy to review each team member’s input at every stage of the project. It’s helpful for staying on top of hours used per stage and across the overall project. It’s also easy to use and simple to flick through the different tools. aids pricing.

**Official Response from Bernadette Keating:**

> Natacha it's great to hear your feedback on Projectworks, that you're finding time tracking and project breakdowns helpful. Permissions are built to be flexible enough that each organisation can customize them to suit their unique team, which means your admin access can be easily expanded as needed - our friendly support team would also be happy to help make that a smoother experience for you.

We appreciate your support and are committed to providing a user-friendly and efficient platform for your project management needs!

 ### 8. Intuitive Platform with Outstanding Personal Support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Projectworks?**

What I like most is the personal care and support provided, you actually get to talk to real people! The platform is super intuitive and user friendly, and has a pleasant look/feel. The amount of information it provides in one place is incomparable.

**What do you dislike about Projectworks?**

One of my pet pieves is the integration with Employment Hero when it comes to leave, it needs some refining ie. it only recognises full days, not part days of leave. Another one is that you are not able to add suppliers manually, they sync from xero to PWs but only ones these have bills associated with them, so items reconciled as a spend doesn't pull through as a supplier per se.

**What problems is Projectworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Visibility on project health, and staff utilisation are really the biggest items that PWs offers

 ### 9. Helps manage work better across teams

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gaurav S. | Manager DevOps, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 25, 2026

**What do you like best about Projectworks?**

Projectworks makes it really easy to manage projects because everything like time tracking, billing, and budgets is in one place. The timesheet is simple, so the team can log hours without confusion, which helps in correct invoicing. It also gives a clear idea of project costs, profit, and future planning, so we don’t have to follow up with different teams. The system is easy to use, works from anywhere, and their support team is always quick to help when needed.

**What do you dislike about Projectworks?**

One thing I feel is missing is smart AI features, as most planning and forecasting still needs to be done manually instead of getting helpful suggestions from the system. It would be better if it could automatically highlight risks or suggest improvements. Also, the pricing feels a bit high, especially for smaller teams, and it takes time to really see the value for money.

**What problems is Projectworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Projectworks has helped solve the problem of managing data across different tools by bringing everything together through integrations, so we do not have to switch between multiple systems. This has reduced manual work and errors, especially in finance and reporting. It also performs reliably even when handling multiple projects, so we can track progress, budgets, and team workload without delays or system issues. Overall, it has made our daily operations smoother and more efficient.

**Official Response from Bernadette Keating:**

> Hi Gaurav, it's great to hear how Projectworks has streamlined your project management process, reducing manual work and errors. We're committed to providing a reliable and efficient platform for your team's success! We're committed to thoughtfully integrating technologies like AI, if you haven't already, I encourage you to take a look at our AI-powered proposals page on the website to see where we are going and there is more to come as well!

Thank you again for sharing your experience with Projectworks, we're glad to support you and your team this year!

 ### 10. Simple Design with Seamless Xero and SalesForce Integration

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrew C. | Program Management Office Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 25, 2026

**What do you like best about Projectworks?**

It is simplistic in it's design and integrates so well with other applications like Xero and SalesForce.

**What do you dislike about Projectworks?**

Tracking project costs is difficult since burn is done based on Revenue and not on Costs. It is more administration to add markup to all PO's and Expenses, and the budgets must be done based on sell price, not on cost.

**What problems is Projectworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Simple leave interface, User friendly project accounting that significantly reduces the need for manual transposing of data with Xero and other systems.

 ### 11. Real-Time Budget Transparency That Transforms Multi-Project Workflow

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alison P. | Operations Coordinator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 26, 2026

**What do you like best about Projectworks?**

ProjectWorks was easy to implement and customer support has been friendly, prompt and very helpful.

It has been easy to use and has made a big difference in our ability to manage workflow and budgets more effectively across multiple projects and team members.

**What do you dislike about Projectworks?**

We sync ProjectWorks with Xero. Leave, invoices, and payments can only be exported once. If any of these need to be edited in either platform after export, the same change then has to be manually updated in the other platform as well. It would be great to have a regular or on-demand sync between the two, so the data stays consistent automatically.

**What problems is Projectworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The real-time transparency around project budgets is providing project managers critical information and more control over the overall health of their project budgets. It has made invoicing much simpler and faster.

**Official Response from Charlotte Steel:**

> Hi Alison, thank you for your positive feedback! The whole team really appreciates it. It's great to hear that your implementation has been smooth and that you're now able to manage your project portfolio more efficiently while accelerating invoicing. That's a great improvement! Thank you also for your feedback on our Xero sync - we do offer auto-sync from Projectworks to Xero for the following: invoice payments to reconcile exported invoices; bill payments to reconcile exported expenses and purchase orders; suppliers; and leave balances. We do understand your feedback on sync after export though, and this has been passed to the product team. Thanks once again for your support, and feel free to reach out any time in the future at support@projectworks.com!

 ### 12. Effortless Time Tracking, Needs Better Overtime Management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rexx B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Projectworks?**

I love Projectworks for its time tracking and invoicing capabilities. I can easily adjust time codes and assign blocks of time to invoices, as well as adjust billable hours and track budgets. I love that it is web-based and can be accessed anywhere on any device. The timesheet entry interface stands out as the most important feature because it simplifies the process for our staff, ensuring accurate invoicing.

**What do you dislike about Projectworks?**

Resourcing is input intensive and not easy to keep up to date as day-to-day workloads change. As a New Zealand-based company, there's no concept of paid overtime or time off in lieu of overtime (TOIL) integrated into Projectworks, making it difficult to track and report this to Xero. We have to manually calculate TOIL and input this data into Xero. Additionally, the timesheet and time columns are in HH:MM format, but Xero and most other programs use decimal hours. It would be really helpful to have the ability to choose between HH:MM and decimal hours. Also, the ability to send overtime hours or TOIL hours to Xero is needed. I also don't like that the price is going up 17% and we just have to accept that and move on. I can see why it has gone up, I still think it is worth it, I'm still happy. But how many price hikes will I sustain and still be happy? I'm not sure. You should communicate and consult with your userbase for price-hikes well in excess of inflation.

**What problems is Projectworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Projectworks helps me with timesheets, cost codes, invoicing, and project financials. I love being able to adjust time codes, assign time to invoices, and track budgets easily across devices. The user-friendly timesheet feature is key for effective invoicing.

**Official Response from Bernadette Keating:**

> Hi Rexx, thanks for your thoughtful and detailed review of your Projectworks experience. We're so glad that we're contributing to simplifying the process of timesheets for staff and ensuring accurate invoicing for your firm.

We appreciate your note on resourcing input, the good news is, resourcing is something we are looking at working on. If you'd like to share any specific feedback with us about what you're after, reach out to our friendly team at support@projectworks.com they'd be keen to hear your thoughts as we get more into it. While you can type in decimal time into the HH:MM field, as you noted there isn't yet the ability to switch to it on screen, so we'll pass on your feedback about that and TOIL as well.

Thanks again for sharing, we’re grateful to have you on the journey with us and look forward to continuing to evolve Projectworks to meet your needs!

 ### 13. Effortless Setup and Intuitive Financial Tools

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Josephine A. | General Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 14, 2025

**What do you like best about Projectworks?**

> Easy-to-use system with strong learning tools to support onboarding and getting started.
> Clear, intuitive layout that is easy to follow and not over-complicated.
> Financial tools are straightforward, with a simple and effective budget versus actuals view.
> Strong permission and access controls, allowing sensitive information (such as financial data) to be appropriately restricted.
> Support team is helpful and responsive throughout onboarding, without a hard-sell approach.

**What do you dislike about Projectworks?**

> Could benefit from more advanced and flexible reporting.
> Greater ability to customise dashboards to suit specific business needs would be valuable.
> Additional CRM integrations, such as Go High Level, would improve workflow efficiency.
> Resource planning and resourcing tools can be difficult to use at times.
> Managing the utilisation target that is specific to our business - this is something i have to manually run.

**What problems is Projectworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

> Allows the team to access relevant project information while appropriately restricting visibility of sensitive financial data.
> Provides an easy-to-use system that new starters can quickly pick up with minimal training.

**Official Response from Charlotte Steel:**

> Hi Josephine, we really appreciate this positive review! We pride ourselves on granular user permissions and we're glad our refreshed UX is hitting the mark. Thanks also for highlighting our fantastic support team :) Have you been able to explore our new custom reporting feature? I include a link to a resource, but this is a flexible tool created for more technical users. If you contact us at support@projectworks.com with the advanced reports that you are interested in, as well as the utilization target you use, we can add these to our product backlog. I have also added your CRM integration request to the product backlog. Thanks again for being an advocate for Projectworks!

 ### 14. Revolutionized Our Operational Efficiency and Forecasting

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tom B. | Founder & Principal Consultant, Consulting, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 08, 2025

**What do you like best about Projectworks?**

I value the predictive power of Projectworks the most, especially for revenue forecasting. It's a game changer because it lets our team see where the cash flow will land months in advance. The resourcing heat map is also great—it's my go-to feature because it lets me instantly spot if someone is burning out or if talent is sitting idle, enabling us to make immediate course corrections. Projectworks also turns resource management from a guessing game into a data-driven process.

**What do you dislike about Projectworks?**

The custom reporting in Projectworks, while powerful, requires a learning curve. You almost need a data analysis mindset to use it for complex tasks. Also, the mobile app is really basic. It handles time entry fine but lacks project management controls and visibility needed for finances. I can't really use the mobile app when I'm away from my desk.

**What problems is Projectworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Projectworks as a central system, replacing guesswork with precision. It handles revenue forecasting, resource allocation, and consolidates data into a single source. It provides financial visibility, prevents scope creep, and stops us from guessing project profitability, showing budget burns early.

**Official Response from Charlotte Steel:**

> Hi Tom, thank you so much for sharing your feedback with us. It's excellent to know that we've overhauled your future planning and your resource management. Thanks also for your feedback on our custom reporting feature - it is definitely an advanced feature that is best suited to people with SQL skills. We're continuing to build on our inbuilt report library too, so that we can make data analysis accessible for everyone. We don't currently have a mobile app, but you can save Projectworks to your home screen via your home screen - I've included a link to a relevant help article. Please feel free to contact us at support@projectworks.com for any assistance in future! We appreciate you and look forward to supporting your firm into the future.

 ### 15. Quick Monthly Forecasts and Clear Project & Resource Visibility

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Venture Capital & Private Equity | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 22, 2026

**What do you like best about Projectworks?**

I like being able to see our every month financial forecasts quickly and see how our team is being worked and how much time it takes to complete each task. Projectworks gives us an everyday summary of how the project is progressing and resource is being used, we use it to keep our team on track of critical issues.

**What do you dislike about Projectworks?**

The tool is created for advanced users or people who work entirely on fin dept, so you need to use it like for an entire month to get the hang of it, learning curve is there so if you are not using it daily then definitely takes some time.

**What problems is Projectworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We relied on updates from different teams and tools. Projectworks now become the default and helps us reduce the number of meetings and take decisions without asking around much and all of the data is available on real time.

**Official Response from Bernadette Keating:**

 ### 16. Timelines, Reminders, and Visual Dashboards Keep Our Projects on Track

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Investment Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 20, 2026

**What do you like best about Projectworks?**

My fav features are the timelines and reminders. The time tracking works well too and keep us on track of all the project deadlines. Reports and dashboard are visual which are especially useful when coordinating across different teams and easy to share with our partners.

**What do you dislike about Projectworks?**

User interface looks great but when using the experience is bit hard. So what would be better for the users, is that only essential features can be near like on sidebar and advanced or less used features can be under the settings so it be easy for lite users.

**What problems is Projectworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were looking for a single tool to take care of most like calculating the project costs, time tracking and forecasting our revenue. Projectworks does exactly that and helps us manage our project across the onsite and remote team with a single tool with ease.

**Official Response from Bernadette Keating:**

> Hi there, thanks for your review of Projectworks - we love that you’ve seen the value of visual reports and dashboards not just for yourselves but for your work with partners as well!

Regarding essential features, have you been able to look at setting up permissions for roles that do not need access to certain features? If not, we'll share the link below.

Thanks again for sharing just how Projectworks keeps all your projects on track, we appreciate it!

 ### 17. Clear and User-Friendly, but Needs Project Start/End Dates

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lee Y. | Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 26, 2026

**What do you like best about Projectworks?**

It was very clear layout. Easy to navigate. User friendly features

**What do you dislike about Projectworks?**

It has limitation like not having start and end date for the project.

**What problems is Projectworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solved my problem by having user friendly feature. Didn't take me too long to figure out how to use it once I started using it.

 ### 18. Finally a Product That Works for Consulting Teams

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shelley T. | Executive Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 08, 2025

**What do you like best about Projectworks?**

As a consulting firm, we needed a platform that truly understands how we work — one flexible enough to manage complex projects with varying rates, roles, and timelines. The newest updates have made a noticeable difference, with a cleaner interface and improved usability that makes navigating projects much smoother.

What really sets this tool apart is the ability to see profit margins by project and adjust costs directly at the project level — that insight has been invaluable for keeping both our financials and staffing in balance. Unlike other software we’ve tried that never quite fit our workflow, this platform delivers a seamless experience across financial, people, and project management functions.

Finally, their customer support team is exceptional — highly responsive, even across time zones, and genuinely committed to finding solutions. They stay with you until your issue is resolved. It’s a rare combination of capability, adaptability, and service that makes this platform stand out.

**What do you dislike about Projectworks?**

The platform take a bit to get your head around. There are a few basic operational aspects that without understanding do create some frustration. Once that is illuminated... all good.

**What problems is Projectworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Projectworks is our consulting project management, staff time tracking (leading to payroll), client invoicing, and staff expenses platform. We then get overall financials by project, by month, by staff. We also use the system to track billable hours by person based on our annual staff targets.

**Official Response from Charlotte Steel:**

> Hi there, thank you for your kind words! That's exactly why we called our platform "Projectworks" - because we wanted to make a platform where projects just work, and where we take all the tedious, boring admin off your plate. With 150 years of combined consulting experience under the team's belt, we like to think that we're building a product that is precision-honed for consulting businesses. We’re thrilled to hear that Projectworks is fitting the way your consulting business operates - especially around variable rates, people planning, and financial insights. That’s exactly the kind of flexibility we aim to deliver. We’re also really glad to hear you’ve had a great experience with our support team. With team members now across the US, UK, and AU/NZ time zones, we’re committed to being responsive no matter where you are (feel free to get in touch at support@projectworks.com!). We appreciate your note on the initial learning curve too. We’re always working to make Projectworks more intuitive, while still offering the depth teams like yours need. Thanks again for sharing how you’re using Projectworks across time tracking, invoicing, and project financial reporting - it’s great to see that full picture in action!

 ### 19. Great Timesheet Tool with Helpful Project Planning Integrations

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Automotive | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 26, 2026

**What do you like best about Projectworks?**

It's a good timesheet tool that has project planning integrations as well

**What do you dislike about Projectworks?**

The general feedback that I have is that it's quite a rigid tool, i.e. not being able to upload resourcing. I'm also not able to breakdown the burn rate at completion graph by individual months to sense check the resourcing plan that has been loaded manually.

**What problems is Projectworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's allowing us to plan better from the start since the rates and hours are broken down by budgets and timecodes that have been approved.

 ### 20. Simple, Fast, and Reliable with Competitive Pricing

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Civil Engineering | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 26, 2026

**What do you like best about Projectworks?**

Simple intuitive interface. It works consistently and quickly. The pricing is competitive and reasonable. Staff seem happy enough with it.

**What do you dislike about Projectworks?**

The reporting functions are hard to understand and use. They seem very limited in what data they can compare and are a massive time sink. We have to export our data into spreadsheets to get the information displayed correctly. Resourcing should also be able to be automatically copied across to your time sheets.

**What problems is Projectworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Timesheets, resourcing, budgets

**Official Response from Bernadette Keating:**

> Thank you for sharing your positive experience with Projectworks - it's so good to hear that you've found the experience simple and intuitive and that your staff like using it.

We've been continuing to build out the inbuilt report library so that we can make data analysis accessible for everyone - if there is a report you'd like to see there our team would love to know. Otherwise for more in depth reporting, you may appreciate our custom reporting feature that is best suited to firms who want to build and tailor one-off reports that matter most to you.

 ### 21. Comprehensive project and invoicing platform with incredible reporting

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kara B. | Senior Operations Lead, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 09, 2025

**What do you like best about Projectworks?**

I use Projectworks as an admin for project management, time tracking, and invoicing, and it has become an essential tool for running our operations smoothly. It’s fantastic for keeping track of all project work, monitoring employee time accurately, and managing client invoicing in one place. The platform’s reporting capabilities are especially impressive — there’s an enormous catalog of reports you can build, which provides deep visibility into project performance, utilization, and financials.

Overall, Projectworks is an excellent, comprehensive platform that combines project management, time tracking, and invoicing in a clean, reliable system. With a few workflow enhancements, it could easily be a five-star solution.

**What do you dislike about Projectworks?**

My only real suggestions for improvement would be:

Offering tutorials or guided learning resources for the reporting features — they’re powerful but can be a bit complex for new users.

Adding a feature to auto-prepare draft invoices at the end of each month, so that when admins go to generate invoices, they’re already staged and ready for review. Currently, the “Invoices” section only displays what’s been generated, but a draft-mode view would save time and streamline month-end billing.

**What problems is Projectworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Project management, time tracking, invoicing and leave requests.

**Official Response from Charlotte Steel:**

> Thanks so much for the thoughtful review, Kara! We're thrilled to hear Projectworks has become an essential part of your operations - especially that the reporting tools are helping you gain the visibility needed to stay on top of project performance and financials.

We also appreciate the great suggestions. The custom reporting feature is definitely intended for those users who have previous, technical reporting experience, and we do appreciate that it has a learning curve. In terms of direct assistance with custom reporting, we're currently offering support for specific report questions, and noting requests for reports to be added to the Managed Reports list. We can also connect users with partners for report assistance, and we're always open to hearing where our Help Center materials have gaps so we can continue to add and improve them - feel free to share any you've identified with us at support@projectworks.com.

The auto-drafted invoices is a great idea, and we’ve passed this feedback to our product team for consideration.

Thanks again for being part of the Projectworks community - we love seeing it make a difference!

 ### 22. Very easy to use Integrations & happy with the data flow

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Projectworks?**

Integrations
Easy to use

AI/ Intelligence

**What do you dislike about Projectworks?**

We expected better onboarding experience
Creating custom reports is difficult to our old application replicon
there is no option of selecting specific fields and generating a report

**What problems is Projectworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Invoicing, Project Financials

**Official Response from Bernadette Keating:**

> Thank you for sharing your feedback Divya! It's great to hear that you find Projectworks easy to use and are happy with the data flow and integrations. We understand the importance of a smooth onboarding experience and the ability to easily create custom reports.

As we continue to build out our inbuilt report library as well, to make data analysis accessible for everyone it would be great to get your feedback!

 ### 23. Project Works user review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hamie Y. | Director & Operations Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 25, 2026

**What do you like best about Projectworks?**

Clean interface, simple functions with powerful outcomes.

**What do you dislike about Projectworks?**

There is a few customisation functions that it could use to better the program, i.e. sending emails out i can't customise the subject bar.

**What problems is Projectworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Metrics, tracking, margins, project setup.

**Official Response from Bernadette Keating:**

> Thanks Hamie! We appreciate your positive feedback about the interface and powerful outcomes you're seeing. We'll definitely take your suggestion about greater customization into account for future improvements.

 ### 24. Clear Project Insights, Cost Tracking Needs Improvement

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 25, 2026

**What do you like best about Projectworks?**

I appreciate how Projectworks gives me a clear overview of the status of my projects and provides visibility to my work team about their resourcing across different projects. It enables conversations among project managers, which is valuable. The integration with Outlook is a great feature, as it catches my meetings and makes timesheeting easy. .

**What do you dislike about Projectworks?**

Some of the resourcing associated with budgets doesn't bring the correct rate all the way through. So I'm always slightly off on my projected or forecast costs.

**What problems is Projectworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Projectworks for timesheeting, resourcing, project budget tracking, and quotes. It gives me a clear project overview, visibility of team resourcing, and facilitates conversations among managers.

**Official Response from Bernadette Keating:**

> Thank you for sharing your positive experience with Projectworks, including the clear project overview and integration with Outlook - it's great to hear how you're already getting value from this brand new integration.

It sounds odd that the correct rate isn't pulling through and we'd definitely want to look into that for you, have you been able to get in touch with our support team? Send us an email support@projectworks.com so we can start looking into that for you.

Thanks again for choosing Projectworks, we look forward to supporting you with continued visibility of resourcing, easy timesheeting, good conversations and more!

 ### 25. Great Time Allocation and Budget Tracking in Projectworks

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Research | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2026

**What do you like best about Projectworks?**

Projectworks is a great project management tool. The time allocation features, and how easy it is to set up work based on availability, are what we use most. It has helped keep our project budget on track, integrated well with slack and has also helped us save manpower.

**What do you dislike about Projectworks?**

The interface is a bit complicated, and that’s the main reason we ended up switching. It definitely takes some time to get used to.

**What problems is Projectworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main problem it solved for us was forecasting. Projectworks has a great dashboard where we can clearly see how we’re progressing and where we’re spending too much. It is fast, and also keeps us from having to create so much reporting in each quarter.

**Official Response from Bernadette Keating:**

> Thank you for sharing your experience with Projectworks! It's great to hear that you found the time allocation and budget tracking features helpful in managing your projects efficiently. We appreciate your feedback about the interface and understand the importance of user-friendly design.

If you ever decide to give Projectworks another try, please reach out to our support team. We would be happy to assist you with any questions or concerns you may have. Thank you for choosing Projectworks to streamline your project management processes!

 ### 26. Seamless Integrations That Keep Our Business Running Smoothly

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 26, 2026

**What do you like best about Projectworks?**

The integration with other key apps to run our business

**What do you dislike about Projectworks?**

It's a bit more complex than what our business needs (e.g., project budgets can be hard to understand at a glance, resourcing function ROI doesn't make sense for us to use it)

**What problems is Projectworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Invoicing to clients is a breeze and we're getting paid more quickly. Tracking our employees' utilization rates has supported our supervisors in their employee performance management.

**Official Response from Bernadette Keating:**

> Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. It's great to hear that it has been beneficial for your business in terms of integrations, invoicing clients and employee performance management.

We are here to support you, so please don't hesitate to reach out if you need any assistance or have further feedback. Thank you for choosing Projectworks!

 ### 27. Easy-to-Use, Highly Configurable Tool with Valuable Forecasting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Projectworks?**

Organisation-wide visibility with an interface that’s easy to use. It’s highly configurable to both user and business needs, and the forward resourcing and forecasting functionality is particularly valuable.

**What do you dislike about Projectworks?**

Not much, honestly. I’m still working on getting the reporting configured to fit our specific business needs, but since they released custom reporting, it’s been getting better every month as I continue to refine it.

**What problems is Projectworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This is solid for project management, especially with the live data and real-time view of how we’re tracking. It makes the ever-present battle of getting people to enter their timesheets much easier to manage, and we’ve had a higher success rate because of it. As someone in finance management, I also appreciate the strong internal controls.

**Official Response from Bernadette Keating:**

> Thank you for sharing your positive experience with Projectworks. We're thrilled to hear that you find the tool easy-to-use and highly configurable. It's also so great to hear that it's improving for you each month - we've got much more in store this year.

If you need any assistance with further customizing the reporting to fit your specific business needs, please don't hesitate to reach out. We're here to help and ensure you continue to have a positive experience with Projectworks. Thank you for choosing us and here's to a successful 2026!

 ### 28. Intuitive and robust software, well tailored for consultants serving multiple projects and clients.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lachlan M. | Project Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 22, 2025

**What do you like best about Projectworks?**

Setting up new projects, tracking time across the team. Quickly seeing spend for the month alongside expenses. Adding new members, adjusting access levels and detail, adding new clients and projects

Your support team is very helpful, both as a channel to provide feedback on software updates/functions that may be useful, and to provide guidance on a tool/feature I am unfamiliar with.

My monthly invoicing has gotten much quicker and with a few small system changes, will easily solve our invoicing delays.

Everyone on the team uses PW daily, and have all noted it as a significant upgrade to our previous time sheet approach

**What do you dislike about Projectworks?**

I have trouble uploading old work (Previous spend etc) to before I was onboard. I understand this is usually included in onboarding, but if there was a way to add 'spend to date';, this would make uploading clients with historic invoices much easier. I currently add an input each month of historic spend in the timesheet/timecodes section and void the exported invoice as a work around.

It would also be great to create sections/new budgets that act as extensions to previous budgets. We often receive 3 month extensions that are different to previous budgets (in rates and total hours). Currently I have to create new projects each time to allow this, even though we are still on the same budget. Simply adjusting rates and hours to an existing timecode/project breaks the tracking or projections I need for my reporting.

With expense reconciliation, I am having significant trouble migrating to project works. Two key reasons are:
1. I am not able to set GST per expense if needed. I purchase products that are partially govt and partially broker (i.e. infotrack govt database searches through a broker.) By nature, the GST is unique to the product as the broker fee (The GST inclusive part of the price) varies. Simply allow the Admin etc to override the GST box, and calculate the resultant % GST or vice versa would allow this. I can not set a GST amount for their 300 uniquely priced products, so I will continue using XERO for expenses
2. We do site visits with 5-20 purchases (Flights, food, accommodation etc) per visit. I do not want 5-20 reconciliations going to a colleague each time, so a combined expense function would be helpful here. For now, all costs are input as a single expense, but this raises errors with tallying and the above mentioned GST issue.

**What problems is Projectworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can enable my team to make expense reconciliation requests which then fall into cost tracking

My team is easily able to input their time tracking hours to speed up invoicing end of month

I can track total spend quickly, month to month spend and remaining budget, which clients need for monthly reporting.

**Official Response from Charlotte Steel:**

> Thanks for the thoughtful review, Lachlan - we're glad Projectworks is helping your team of consultants stay on top of time tracking, budget visibility, and invoicing. It’s great to hear it’s been a clear upgrade over your previous approach.

We really appreciate the detailed feedback about historical spend, budget variations, and expense reconciliation. These are important use cases and while we have workarounds (like creating timecodes for ‘spend to date’ or adding budget lines for extensions), we know some areas could be more streamlined.

Zabe from our team will be in touch directly to walk through your specific workflows and help ensure you're set up in the most effective way. And of course, you’re always welcome to contact support@projectworks.com at any time for help with setup or configuration.

Thanks again for taking the time to share this useful feedback - and for being such an engaged user!

 ### 29. Excellent software, great implementation and service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pip D. | Chief Operating Officer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 21, 2025

**What do you like best about Projectworks?**

We spent time reviewing a lot of different project management solutions and settled on Project Works for it's simplicity, price, integrations with our other software and the speed of implementation. We have not been disappointed. Customer service is excellent, responsive and tailored. The implementation team were phenomenal and has us up and running quickly with data migration and various forms of training. The team are enjoying using the system and we are benefiting from the new level of data we have to run the business. Recommend Project Works highly.

**What do you dislike about Projectworks?**

Some very small items could be improved in the interface but updates are being made regularly so it's getting better and better.

**What problems is Projectworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We now have a great view of how our team are allocated and utilised. We have accurate reporting on projects at risk and project margins. We've replaced multiple other systems and spread sheets with Project Works and are spending a lot less time on admin.

**Official Response from Charlotte Steel:**

> Pip, thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with us! We're thrilled to hear how smoothly your onboarding has gone – we'll pass that positive feedback on to our customer success team. Enjoy that new level of data also – no doubt there's some great insight to be gained within it! If you have any suggestions for improvement in the future just reach out to support@projectworks.com.

 ### 30. Easy Tracking for Timesheets, Budgets, and Expenses

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Projectworks?**

easy to keep track of timesheets, budgets and expenses. Easy to use. Good to be able to vary levels of visibility / access

**What do you dislike about Projectworks?**

the timesheet function, copying and pasting the comments into different time codes. The visibility of the text box when writing time sheet comments

**What problems is Projectworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

keeping track of jobs budgets, and time spent on projects. It is also used to project expected workload

 ### 31. Less guessing, more clarity

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jonathan B. | Change Management Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 03, 2025

**What do you like best about Projectworks?**

Honestly, it just makes everything easier to see. Before Projectworks, it felt like bits of information were scattered everywhere — spreadsheets, emails, someone’s head, a whiteboard. Now I can see how projects are tracking, who’s busy, who’s overloaded, and whether we’re actually making money, all without having to dig.
It feels like switching from guessing to actually knowing.

**What do you dislike about Projectworks?**

Nothing major. The setup takes a bit of thought, especially if you want it to match how your business actually works. We’ve even gone back later and changed the way we use certain features as we figured out what suited us best, which was actually pretty easy to do.
Once you’ve got the structure right, it all runs smoothly from there.

**What problems is Projectworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For me personally, it’s mostly the admin around timesheets. I used to spend way too long trying to remember what I worked on, hunting through emails or notes, and then trying to make it all add up.
Projectworks just makes that part simple. It’s quick to log time, easy to see what’s already in, and I’m not doing the end-of-week scramble anymore.
Everything else it does is great, but the timesheet admin is the big win for me day to day.

**Official Response from Charlotte Steel:**

> This is so fantastic to hear, Jonathan! You've summed up our purpose - to move experts from guessing to knowing, and to help them scale profitably. We're so happy to have killed off those chaotic spreadsheets for you, and to be saving you hours chasing timesheets. No more end-of-the-week scramble - that's awesome. Feel free to reach out to us at support@projectworks.com in future if you need any assistance!

 ### 32. Effortless Financial Tracking with Intuitive UI

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gabriel I. | Project Manager

**Reviewed Date:** December 03, 2025

**What do you like best about Projectworks?**

I love how Projectworks makes my work life easier with its user-friendly and intuitive interface, which feels very organic to navigate. The ability to effortlessly lodge hours and leave, along with quick retrieval and export of financial data into formats like Excel, is invaluable. The initial setup of Projectworks was straightforward, and this seamless process has contributed to its continued use in my team. I appreciate how Projectworks effectively addresses resourcing and budget allocation issues, making it an integral part of my workflow.

**What do you dislike about Projectworks?**

I would like to see an interactive dashboard with better integration with the resourcing data of the extended workforce. It would be useful to have metrics such as the percentage of workers that are under-resourced, over-resourced, and average resourcing. Additionally, a small dashboard displayed in each tab, rather than only in the 'dashboard' tab, would enhance usability.

**What problems is Projectworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Projectworks for timesheets and financial tracking, solving resourcing and budget allocation issues efficiently. It offers easy hour lodging and quick financial data retrieval, enhancing productivity.

**Official Response from Charlotte Steel:**

> Thanks so much for taking the time to share your experience! We’re delighted to hear that Projectworks has made day-to-day financial tracking and timesheet management easier, and that the intuitive interface, simple setup, and quick data export options are supporting your workflow. It’s great to know the platform is helping your team stay on top of resourcing and budgets with less effort.

Enhancing how resourcing data is surfaced across the platform is an area we’re actively exploring.

In the meantime, you can view metrics such as under-resourced, over-resourced, and average resourcing in several places within Projectworks:

Executive Dashboard: This provides a high-level overview of utilisation performance, including previous, current, and next month. Clicking the utilization percentage opens the Utilization Target report for a detailed breakdown.

Utilization Target Report: Accessed from the Reports section, this shows utilisation at organisation, team, line manager, or role level. You can apply various filters to tailor the view.

Individual Utilization Reports: To see details for a specific person, click their name in the Utilization Target report or use the Utilization menu within their profile.

We really appreciate your suggestions around interactive dashboards and your feedback has been shared with the Product team.

Thanks again for your thoughtful review and for being part of the Projectworks community!

 ### 33. Simplifies Management with Easy Setup

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David G. | Chief Operating Officer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Projectworks?**

I like Projectworks because it has a simple user-friendly interface that's very easy to navigate and does what we need without requiring too much extra administration. The initial setup was very easy since they provided a useful template for us to fill in, and they handled the base setup. We also received training that enabled us to continue using it effectively.

**What do you dislike about Projectworks?**

I would like the reporting capability to be a bit more powerful, it is limited and does not have customization that I need.

**What problems is Projectworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Projectworks to manage time and expenses, providing visibility into project bookings, which helps measure revenue and invoice clients. It also tracks holiday usage, employee expenses, and provides utilization reporting.

**Official Response from Charlotte Steel:**

> Hi David, thanks so much for your positive review of Projectworks! We're happy to hear that you're finding the platform easy to use and that setup was seamless. Have you explored our new custom reporting feature? This allows more technical users to build custom reports for unique queries. We are continuing to expand our library of built-in reports as we learn what custom reports are most popular. I've included a link to the custom reporting here. Please feel free to reach out to our friendly team at support@projectworks.com at any point - we'd be happy to help.

 ### 34. Switched to Projectworks

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kerri K. | Vice President, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 16, 2025

**What do you like best about Projectworks?**

One of the best features of Projectworks is their customer service. The team is always responsive and helpful whenever questions or issues come up. Their support made the transition from our old system to theirs seamless and painless

**What do you dislike about Projectworks?**

I wish Projectworks had more robust integration with QBO. It would be helpful if additional details—like Project Name (not just customer name)—transferred over, and if expenses were tracked more accurately instead of being lumped into a single category when transferred to QBO. Currently, there are a few extra steps required to make both Projectworks and QBO track the information we need. It would also be great if the two systems communicated both ways with each other.

**What problems is Projectworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our main issue before Projectworks was our invoicing. Our customers wanted to see more details ( percentage complete, total billed, current billed, remaining fee) that QBO was not allowing us to show.

**Official Response from Charlotte Steel:**

> Hi Kerri, we really appreciate your review - we're glad to hear our fantastic Customer Success team made your switch to Projectworks smooth and easy! It’s great to know the invoicing features are helping you present a clearer picture to clients.

Thank you for your notes on the QuickBooks Online integration as well. I have passed this feedback on to the product team. The current integration does have a two-way sync which you may not have seen - invoices, expenses, and purchase orders are sent from Projectworks to QuickBooks, and payments made in QuickBooks flow back into Projectworks.

Thanks again for the thoughtful feedback and for trusting Projectworks to support your business. If you ever need help refining your QBO workflows, our support team is always happy to dig in - just contact us at support@projectworks.com.

 ### 35. Centralized Solution for Global Operations

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kane L. | Head of People & Operations (NZ)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2025

**What do you like best about Projectworks?**

What I value most about Projectworks is how effectively it centralizes and streamlines the management of our consulting business across the US, New Zealand, and Australia. It brings resourcing, time and project management, invoicing, financials, and organizational reporting into one cohesive platform, making it a true single source of truth for our teams. It’s simple and intuitive for day-to-day users, while also powerful enough to support complex, multi-geography operations. The level of customization available means we can shape the platform to capture the data that matters to us and adapt it as our business evolves. I also like how well Projectworks integrates with the rest of our ecosystem, particularly Power BI for deeper reporting and Xero for invoicing. Bringing these systems together gives us clear visibility and enables more informed decision-making for stakeholders at every level. Above all, the continued enhancement and evolution of Projectworks over the years has kept it aligned with our changing needs, and that ongoing development is something I really value.

**What do you dislike about Projectworks?**

I find the reporting functionality in Projectworks could be improved since, in certain cases, it is easier for me to export the data and create custom reports externally. Another issue is that the platform occasionally experiences slowness, though it usually doesn't last for extended periods.

**What problems is Projectworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Projectworks to centralize our consulting operations globally, facilitating resource and project management, and providing accessible data for decision-making. Its customizability and ability to handle complex tasks across multiple geographies make it invaluable.

**Official Response from Charlotte Steel:**

> Kane, thanks so much for taking the time to share your experience! We’re thrilled to hear that Projectworks has become a true single source of truth for your global operations and that the platform’s customized nature, integrations, and ongoing enhancements continue to support your team across multiple regions.

We appreciate your feedback on reporting and performance. While we’re glad the export options give you flexibility, we understand the importance of improving in-platform reporting and ensuring consistent speed. Have you been able to try the new custom reporting feature? We built this to bring complex reporting in-app and eliminate the need to export to Power BI. If you need help, support@projectworks.com is happy to chat.

We’re grateful to have you on the journey with us and look forward to continuing to evolve Projectworks to meet your needs.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kieran K. | Partner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Projectworks?**

This tool has consolidated our invoicing, forecasting, timesheets, and resourcing into a single platform, replacing the multiple spreadsheets and folders we previously relied on. Before, no one person had a clear overview of all this information.

Onboarding team were great and support has been very good since and interface is easy to use. Seemed much more intuitive than other systems we had tried.

**What do you dislike about Projectworks?**

It would be great if resourcing and forecasting were automatically linked. We see this feature is on the future timeline for new features and when implemented will be a great change.

**What problems is Projectworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Previously, we lacked a straightforward way to monitor the time spent on a project, so we often remained unaware of overspending or falling behind schedule until we performed a time-consuming manual review. Now, however, we always have access to up-to-date data.

**Official Response from Charlotte Steel:**

> Thanks so much for taking the time to share your experience, Kieran. We’re really pleased to hear that Projectworks has helped bring invoicing, forecasting, timesheets, and resourcing together into one clear view, and that it’s replaced the patchwork of spreadsheets and folders you were previously managing. Having reliable, up-to-date visibility across your project portfolio is exactly what we aim to support.

Thanks also for shouting out our wonderful Customer Success team and our UX team!

We appreciate your feedback on linking resourcing and forecasting more closely. Great news! We have just released the ability to publish resourcing to forecasting. You can check it out by visiting you project's scheduling and clicking "Publish to Forecasts" at the top right. Deepening the connections between these elements in Projectworks is a key product focus for us.

Thanks again for your thoughtful review and for choosing Projectworks to support your practice. Feel free to reach out for any assistance in future at support@projectworks.com - we look forward to working with you in 2026.

What i like best about Projectworks is how it centralizes project tracking, resource allocation and time management in one place. The interface is straightforward once you get used to it, making day-today smooth. I use it regularly and it has helped improve visibility across projects while keeping everyone on the same page. The initial setup was manageable and the guidance provided made the implementation process smoother. I have contacted their customer support and they helped me with the query within few hours, which was a great experience. The reporting tools and forecasting features are useful for planning ahead and the integrations with other platforms makes it easy to keep everything connected without extra manual work.

**What do you dislike about Projectworks?**

I like almost everything about Projectworks. Its an east-to-use platform and my experience with it has been smooth and positive.

**What problems is Projectworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Projectworks helps me manage all aspects of my projects in one place- from planning and tracking to managing resources, time and costs. Using Projectworks has made it much easier to see how projects are progressing and to quickly adjust when needed. ### 38. Intuitive and Insightful, But Expense Features Need Improvement

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christopher K. | Delivery Systems & Training Manager

**Reviewed Date:** November 13, 2025

**What do you like best about Projectworks?**

I like that Projectworks provides excellent support and intuitive onboarding, making the initial setup very smooth. The tool effectively aids in project financial management through time tracking, invoicing, expense management, and internal project management. It offers significant insights through great data analytics and flexibility in formats, helping in tracking multiple organizations within a single tool. The custom reporting feature stands out as a distinct advantage, providing necessary differentiation and value. Additionally, the responsive team facilitates a seamless transition by efficiently uploading historic data.

**What do you dislike about Projectworks?**

I find that the expenses management feature in Projectworks is still a bit of an afterthought. It's frustrating that I can't email receipts with invoices automatically or generate a comprehensive expense report. Additionally, linking an expense ID to the breakdown report is not possible, limiting the depth of financial tracking and reporting. The lack of these features makes managing expenses more cumbersome than it should be.

**What problems is Projectworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Projectworks for comprehensive project financial management and resource forecasting, gaining valuable data insights and managing multiple organizations efficiently. Its custom reporting and support are highlights, streamlining processes despite needing improvements in expense tracking and reporting capabilities.

**Official Response from Charlotte Steel:**

> Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience, Chris! We're thrilled to hear that you’ve found Projectworks intuitive and insightful, and that our fantastic Customer Success team made the transition smooth for you. It’s great to know the flexibility and custom reporting are helping you manage multiple organizations and projects effectively.

We appreciate your feedback on expense management. You’re right that expense IDs don’t currently appear on the breakdown report, and that receipts can’t yet be emailed directly with invoices from Projectworks - I have logged your feedback with our Product team. For a more detailed view in the meantime, a custom report could help you generate a more comprehensive expense summary.

Thanks again for your thoughtful review and for being part of the Projectworks community!

 ### 39. Streamlined Project Management with Xero Integration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel G. | Professional Bookkeeper, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 13, 2025

**What do you like best about Projectworks?**

I love how easy it is to build budgets for jobs and keep track of progress against these budgets with Projectworks. The integration with Xero is seamless, making invoicing a breeze by automatically syncing invoices, which ensures that I can issue invoices for the correct amounts without extra hassle. The flexibility of the report screens is another standout feature, as I can customize what is shown and how the data is grouped or filtered to suit my needs. The intuitive and easy-to-use interface makes navigating Projectworks extremely user-friendly, simplifying my project management tasks. This combination of features makes Projectworks an invaluable tool for managing my projects efficiently.

**What do you dislike about Projectworks?**

Some of the WIP functionality in Projectworks was unclear, forcing me to learn by trial and error. I didn't realize that Draft expenses or Resourced time were included in the WIP, which led to confusion. Additionally, writing off unbilled expenses or time is cumbersome, especially when billing in advance for agreed amounts. I would like improvements in how WIP balances are calculated and reported. It would also be helpful to have an easy way to clear all unbilled or pre-billed amounts with one action to effectively close a job out of WIP.

**What problems is Projectworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Projectworks for time tracking, job costing, and leave management, syncing with Xero for effortless invoicing. It streamlines budget tracking and offers flexible reporting, boosting team efficiency.

**Official Response from Charlotte Steel:**

> Thanks so much for your detailed review, David! We're thrilled to hear that Projectworks is helping you streamline project management and invoicing, and that our deep Xero integration and flexible reporting tools are making a difference for your team. It’s great to know you’re finding the interface intuitive and easy to use - we’ve designed it with exactly that in mind.

Currently, resourced time in not included on the WIP report, so there may be some confusion there. We've made writing off time easier, so you can do this before invoicing or on the invoice itself. When you archive a job, you can write off all time in WIP. It may be useful to get in touch with our friendly team at support@projectworks.com to discuss our current functionality and where you might find some easy wins!

Thanks again for your thoughtful review and for being part of the Projectworks community!

 ### 40. Intuitive Project Management with Stellar Efficiency

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nicole R.

**Reviewed Date:** December 09, 2025

**What do you like best about Projectworks?**

I love Projectworks for project management, invoicing, and resourcing. It has halved the time taken for our invoicing process and provides much more of an overview of how the project's tracking. I appreciate the intuitive and simple interface, which is easy to use. I also value the ability to filter and hide/show things on certain screens without having to run a specific report.

**What do you dislike about Projectworks?**

There are a small few things I would like to see improved. Within the invoice editing screen, being able to view the budget and what has been invoiced so far would be hugely beneficial. Also, being able to manually mark actions against invoices and expenses would tidy up the interface a lot too.

**What problems is Projectworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Projectworks has halved the time taken for our invoicing process and provides a comprehensive overview of how projects are tracking.

**Official Response from Charlotte Steel:**

> Hi Nicole, thanks so much for this 5-star review - we love you too! We're really proud to support ENGCO. It's fabulous that we've halved your invoicing time and given you better project visibility. Thank you for your feedback about the invoice editing screen and marking actions - I have added these to the Product backlog. Please feel free to contact our friendly team at support@projectworks.com if you need any assistance in future! We appreciate you being an advocate of Projectworks.

 ### 41. Visual Timelines and Dashboards That Make Delays Easy to Catch

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Civic & Social Organization | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 27, 2026

**What do you like best about Projectworks?**

The visual timelines make it easy to spot delays early, before it even happens. The reports and charts on each dashboard make it all visual and easy to understand. It has good Integrations with the tools we already use like integrations with salesforce make the data easy to switch and export if need.

**What do you dislike about Projectworks?**

The tool is great and has everything we need, if it needs improvement it has to have more templates and automated workflow of frequently used operations would be a plus in making it much better.

**What problems is Projectworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps us deliver work on time while avoiding team burnout. The team works remotely too so each of the members add the work hours and we anticipate the needs based on the incomplete task. Role based access ensures the teams only see what they need.

**Official Response from Bernadette Keating:**

> Thanks for your positive review - it's so great to hear that Projectworks has everything you need. Our team will be really happy to hear that you've found the reports user friendly, and that the Salesforce integration is working well for you. It's great to know the impact it has also had to resourcing and helping your team avoid burnout.

Our team would love to know more about what automations would help - you can get in touch any time at support@projectworks.com. We really appreciate your continued support!

 ### 42. Simple Yet Powerful Interface with Truly On-Point Support

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrew O. | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 26, 2026

**What do you like best about Projectworks?**

Simple yet powerful interface, good defaults set up, able to configure and control most important aspects.
Support has been really on point during our whole journey, from the sales stage to the onboarding and ongoing support.
Great integration support via API with some built-in integrations available out-of-the-box.

**What do you dislike about Projectworks?**

Certain features such as the definition of week boundaries (if Monday is the first day or Sunday, etc) or defining how certain metrics are calculated can't be changed, nor can people hold multiple positions/rates on a single project simultaneously. But these are easy enough to work around.

**What problems is Projectworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Resource planning and forecasting is the largest capability that we could have built but now don't have to.

**Official Response from Charlotte Steel:**

> Hi Andrew, we're thrilled to be able to support your work! Thank you for this positive review - it's great to hear you've benefited from working with our wonderful sales engineers and customer success managers. We're also glad to hear that you're finding Projectworks configurable and a good fit within your business ecosystem. Thank you for your feedback on week boundaries and multiple positions/rates - this feedback has been passed on to the Product team. Feel free to chat to us in future at support@projectworks.com! The whole team appreciates your advocacy for Projectworks.

 ### 43. Streamlined Resourcing and Financial Tracking for Professional Services Teams

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2025

**What do you like best about Projectworks?**

Projectworks provides a clear overview of projects, resourcing, and financial performance all in one place. The ability to forecast revenue and staff utilisation makes it much easier to plan workloads and manage budgets. The interface is intuitive once set up, and the reporting tools are powerful for monitoring performance at both project and company level. Their support team is also responsive and genuinely helpful.

**What do you dislike about Projectworks?**

Some areas can feel a little long winded, for example, editing timesheets or retroactively updating project budgets requires extra steps. The integration options could be broader, and the initial setup and permissions configuration can take time to get right. However, once implemented, the system runs smoothly.

**What problems is Projectworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Projectworks has helped us move away from spreadsheets and disconnected systems by centralising project management, resourcing, and financial tracking. We can now see project progress, budgets, and staff utilisation in real time, which makes forecasting and decision-making much easier. It’s reduced the amount of manual administration we were doing and improved the accuracy of billing and reporting. Overall, it’s given us much better visibility across all projects and helped us manage workload and profitability more effectively.

**Official Response from Charlotte Steel:**

> Thanks so much for sharing your detailed and positive review - we’re glad to hear Projectworks is giving your team greater visibility and control across project delivery, resourcing, and financial performance. It's great that you're making the most of features like budgeting. forecasting, utilization planning, and reporting at both project and company levels.

We appreciate you highlighting areas for improvement too. We're always looking for ways to enhance workflows like timesheet editing and budget updates. We recently released an upgraded budget and pricing experience to make building budgets simpler and more flexible - the blog link is included here. If you haven’t already, feel free to reach out to our support team at support@projectworks.com - they’re always happy to help with tips or shortcuts that might reduce extra steps.

Thanks again for the thoughtful feedback and for trusting Projectworks to help move your team beyond spreadsheets!

 ### 44. Seamless Transition with Exceptional Support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kate S.

**Reviewed Date:** November 02, 2025

**What do you like best about Projectworks?**

I love Projectworks for its user-friendly nature, making data adaptation and timesheet entry modifications straightforward, and invoicing exceptionally easy. Its functionality is well-suited for forecasting and provides a clear snapshot of our workload and progress with its efficient dashboard and intuitive interface. This allows both administrators and project managers to quickly access necessary information. Additionally, Projectworks' adaptability is impressive as it evolves with technology, notably in AI integration, and continuously develops to cater to customer needs. The custom reporting feature is a major advantage, helping us utilise data efficiently. Transitioning from WorkflowMax to Projectworks was exceptionally smooth, facilitated by a responsive and supportive team who made sure our custom fields were integrated seamlessly, enabling a quick operational start. Their openness to feedback and dedication to enhancing the product stands out, supported by a fantastic support team that offers prompt solutions and follow-ups. Moreover, Projectworks' integration with Xero for financial management is incredibly beneficial, ensuring a streamlined workflow for invoice management.

**What do you dislike about Projectworks?**

The inability to directly invoice from Projectworks and add necessary attachments from our server is one area they could enhance. Currently, I have to export invoices to Xero, as I can't modify the email or include additional attachments directly within Projectworks. I wish Projectworks had the capability for customising emails as you are sending them out and attaching documents from our server, to streamline the invoicing process entirely within the platform.

**What problems is Projectworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Projectworks for project management, simplifying resourcing, forecasting, and reporting tasks. It offers user-friendly adaptability, aiding data management, invoicing, and workload monitoring, while its evolving technology and excellent support ensure we stay efficient.

**Official Response from Charlotte Steel:**

> Thank you Kate for this fantastic review - we’re thrilled to hear that Projectworks has made your transition from WorkflowMax smooth and that the platform has made your forecasting, timesheet management, and invoicing workflows more efficient. Thanks also for the shoutout for our new custom reporting feature and our fabulous Customer Success team!

You’ve raised a really helpful suggestion about being able to send invoices with attachments and editable emails directly from within Projectworks. While exporting to Xero is currently required for these steps, we can see how a more complete in-platform invoicing experience would save time. We’ve flagged this with the team and encourage you to reach out to support@projectworks.com if you’d like to share more details or discuss possible workarounds in the meantime.

Thanks again for the thoughtful feedback - we’re so glad to have you on board and growing with us! It means a lot that you have taken the time to review us.

 ### 45. Effective project management and time/cost tracking

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tomo M. | Technical director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Projectworks?**

Assessing the project burn and tracking time spent on billable and nonbillable projects.

**What do you dislike about Projectworks?**

Cant use it for actual invoicing on domestic market due to specific system in place in Serbia, using other platform, invoicing in PW only to keep track by PMs.
No financial summary based on selected currency.

**What problems is Projectworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Main reason for implementation is time tracking i.e. time and cost spent on the project based on the defined resource rates. Also time tracking on the in-house projects which are not billable but provide insight into cost-investment in in-house/outsourced R&D.

**Official Response from Charlotte Steel:**

> HI Tomo, thank you for taking the time to review Projectworks! It's great to hear that our platform is enabling you to effectively track budget burn and time spent, both billable and non-billable. As you note, unfortunately Projectworks doesn't integrate with the Serbian government-run SEF system (Sistem eFaktura), and we understand that invoices need to go through this system when sending to Serbian customers. Regarding the financial summary you mention, your Customer Success representative will reach out directly to find out more - we may offer that report already or be able to meet your need through our flexible custom reporting feature. Feel free to contact support@prjectworks.com for any help in future!

 ### 46. Powerful Financial Forecasting and Real-Time Visual Reports

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Venture Capital & Private Equity | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Projectworks?**

I use projectworks for its financial forecasting and visual reports. The financial forecasting based on past data help us understand and anticipate the upcoming quarters. I like the visual reports that show the project and head count progress in real time and easier than going through the data all the time.

**What do you dislike about Projectworks?**

If I have to pick one thing about projectworks as a disadvantage, then would say it is a bit overwhelming for beginners like me. As a portfolio manager, I oversee multiple portfolios so it feels kinda of heavy at first if you are not used to it every day, so the interface can be made better.

**What problems is Projectworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has all the must have for everyday administration, like it calculates the project resource, lets us know who is doing most of the task and how we are spending everything. So, there is no guesswork or review meeting like before. The financial reports are much clear and easy to share with LPs.

**Official Response from Charlotte Steel:**

> Hi there, thank you for being an advocate for Projectworks! We're pleased to hear that our forecasting and visual reports are eliminating guesswork and maximizing your billable time. Thank you for your feedback about our interface too - we are a deeply-featured product and we are continually developing our UX so that users have a smooth and valuable onboarding experience. Feel free to reach out to support@projectworks.com for help at any time. Thanks again!

 ### 47. Efficient Project Management with Intuitive UI, but Steep Learning Curve

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rubens V. | systems analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 21, 2025

**What do you like best about Projectworks?**

The way this tool streamlines project and resource management is impressive. Its intuitive interface allows for easy tracking of progress, making it straightforward to stay updated. Overall, I find it to be a highly efficient solution for companies seeking complete visibility into their projects.

**What do you dislike about Projectworks?**

This is a very comprehensive tool, though there are a few areas that could use improvement. One notable aspect is the initial learning curve; with so many features available, some screens—particularly those related to reports and dashboards—could benefit from greater customization options. While the support team is efficient, I feel the documentation could be more thorough.

**What problems is Projectworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This tool has significantly improved our ability to address issues with visibility, control, and the integration of project information. We have managed to centralize all aspects of our work within a single system, covering everything from resource planning and time tracking to budget management and billing. Additionally, the automation of administrative tasks, like time recording and reporting, has been a major advantage.

**Official Response from Charlotte Steel:**

> Hi Rubens, this is excellent feedback for us. It’s great to hear Projectworks is helping your team stay in sync with better visibility and more control across the project lifecycle. We love that the UI and automation features are supporting your work, especially around time tracking and reporting.

We know that onboarding into such a comprehensive platform can be daunting, and we really appreciate the feedback around reporting and documentation. During this quarter and into 2026, we are actively working on customer education and are dedicated to enhancing our knowledge base. We have recently added a new chatbot to the knowledge base and are systematically improving key articles. As always, feel free to reach out at support@projectworks.com if you need assistance.

Thank you for sharing your experience - it helps us continue to improve.

 ### 48. Projectworks Streamlines Time-to-Cost Tracking with Seamless Xero & Salesforce Integrations

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Venture Capital & Private Equity | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Projectworks?**

Projectworks connects time tracking directly to project costs taken on each task and revenue it gives. It shows how the progress is being made on each pipeline and what is preventing the project movement. The integration with Xero and Salesforce saves us a lot of time and easy to make use of.

**What do you dislike about Projectworks?**

Wish the settings and adjustment require less clicks than what there is to expected. The reporting features are powerful, but it takes time to learn how to customize them fully and make it export ready to be used on our documents directly.

**What problems is Projectworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Projectworks has greatly improved how we track and forecast project finances and manage team allocation. It reduced errors we encountered and cut down on work every month. The entire performance review we had was now over Projectworks as we can see where our time and money are being across teams.

**Official Response from Charlotte Steel:**

> Thank you for your positive feedback! We appreciate you being an advocate for Projectworks, and are so pleased to hear that we are saving you time and unnecessary admin. Thanks also for the shout out for our Xero and Salesforce integrations! Regarding reports, you are able to export entire custom reports as PDFs, or individual elements of a report as a .csv, .xlsx, .json or .png (if the element is displayed as a chart). Feel free to reach out to support@projectworks.com for any help in the future - we're always happy to chat.

 ### 49. Great for keeping the teams organized

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Venture Capital & Private Equity | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Projectworks?**

We use projectworks to keep our team together and the data in one place. It works for all team and keeps everyone up. Everyone sees only the tasks they are assigned to and the reminders help us keep with the deadlines. The visual planning and forecast show how the team are progressing every day.

**What do you dislike about Projectworks?**

Setup and onboarding process takes a while and it is time consuming since we had to take into multiples. All in all Projectworks is a good project management tool and good for teams who have a lot going on.

**What problems is Projectworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Projectworks solved unwanted meetings and unnecessary updates. It has reduced the need for a lot of emails between teams and weekly meetings about how the projects are progressing. It lets us see how the work is progressing as planned and updates us if something is not on schedule.

**Official Response from Charlotte Steel:**

> Hi there, thank you for this positive feedback! Awesome to see that you've cut back on unnecessary meetings and emails as a result of adopting Projectworks, maximizing your billable time. ### 50. Flexible PSA platform with strong time tracking and resourcing, ideal for growing firms

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joshua B. | Director of Global Delivery, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 26, 2025

**What do you like best about Projectworks?**

ProjectWorks offers a robust structure that supports professional services firms as they establish themselves or expand their footprint. The platform makes it easy to manage multiple time codes per user. It enables both billable and non-billable time tracking. This flexibility makes it easy to design complex project structures without any hassle.

Additionally, the platform offers robust support for professional services resourcing scenarios. These features include easy tracking of utilization and providing a clear visual representation of when individuals become available for new projects. Lastly, the platform offers robust reporting capabilities out of the box. While the platform offers comprehensive built-in reporting, it also supports the development of custom reporting via SQL views at no additional cost. This connectivity allowed our team to develop custom reports tailored to our organization.

**What do you dislike about Projectworks?**

The team at ProjectWorks has designed the platform as a comprehensive, end-to-end solution that covers everything from time tracking to invoicing. While this is fantastic for newer or smaller firms, it may not be as ideal for more mature firms or those with multiple lines of business, as some of the features may overlap with existing systems and go underutilized.

Another challenge we encountered was the rigidness of built-in reporting. The platform's out-of-the-box reporting is comprehensive, covering key metrics such as utilization and project profitability. However, our finance team did not always find it intuitive. As a result, we had to develop external reporting solutions to obtain the necessary reporting. The platform enables this type of development out of the box, but it required additional investment on our part.

It's worth noting that ProjectWorks has introduced a new custom reporting module, which we have not fully evaluated at the time of his review. It may address these concerns for future users.

Finally, while the resourcing features are flexible, the out-of-the-box resourcing tool has some limitations when it comes to larger managed services. We found that it required custom reporting to handle more complex resourcing needs.

**What problems is Projectworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ProjectWorks helps us centralize and streamline core delivery processes for our professional services work. These processes include time tracking, resourcing, and reporting on project finances reporting. By supporting multiple time codes per user and offering robust, out-of-the-box resourcing tools, the platform has enabled us to model complex project structures easily. It has also provided accurate data to power our redeployment and utilization management processes.

**Official Response from Charlotte Steel:**

> Hi Josh, thank you so much for taking the time to write this in-depth review! We're thrilled to hear that Projectworks has helped you to manage time tracking, resourcing, and reporting. We do understand that there may be some overlap between Projectworks' functionality and other tools, given our focus on supporting services professionals throughout the project lifecycle.
