There isn't much to dislike about WS_FTP after Progress completed their acquisition of Ipswitch, inc. A year or two ago, I would have a different opinion on this matter; but ever since Progress began 'manning the ship' ... the knowledge base and support is indefinitely better than years prior. For some the upfront cost of the WS_FTP Server is quite pricey, roughly $1800, but this may or may not be applicable depending on your business needs. - Transfer side folder refresh is sometimes unpredictable; depending on server rules (like auto data warehousing/clearing after transfer), you may or may not see the file there. You can use the log, but still it would be nice to be able to control the behavior of the GUI on file drops (For instance, for clients who require a screenshot to confirm file deposit). I've been using this program for probably a good 15 years. I can't imagine running my website without it. I'm not a fan of the concept of editing files live on the server, like with some other programs, so I've always liked using FTP programs.
