Rich widgets for graphing, grids, drag-and-drop are nice. Data driven widgets use datasource binding which makes integration with existing data end-points easy. The framework integrates well with Bootstrap and JQuery support is foundational to this framework. **What do you dislike about Progress Kendo UI?** From a framework standpoint, I don't have any qualms. Some of the UI widgets are not as clean as the Bootstrap equivalents (e.g. menus and tabbing), so I have opted to use the Bootstrap flavors instead. As for the data-driven UI widgets, I have stayed entirely with Kendo. **Recommendations to others considering Progress Kendo UI:** If you are familiar with JQuery and Angular, Kendo UI is great and your learning curve will be light. I came from a non-JQuery/JavaScript/Angular background and learned it along with the Kendo framework, which was more difficult. **What problems is Progress Kendo UI solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am rewriting a rich Adobe Flash (Flex) based web application. Kendo was a framework that was priced competitively and provided the breadth and depth that I was accustomed to with Flex. ### 2. The features that keep bringing me back to the framework project-after-project are: 1. The Kendo DataSources makes binding to our RESTful APIs seamless. 2. Kendo router is the Gold Standard in creating SPA applications. The ability to wire url hashtags to various javascript controls makes development so much quicker than having to make trips back out to our server layer for the next view. Combine that with the Kendo Views and Templates and truly split development work from server-side .vs. client side. 3. Kendo is delivered with some of the best usage documentation in the industry. I'm always asked to push the limits of the widgets supply by Kendo, and I'm always pleasantly surprised when I find some fringe example in the documentation that customizes the widget just how I need it. **What do you dislike about Progress Kendo UI?** I don't have many complaints with the framework. However, the most recent builds are starting to have trouble with RequireJS. I know that RequireJS is an older framework, but it's still a heavily used in my world and would like to see better support. **What problems is Progress Kendo UI solving and how is that benefiting you?** The last few projects leveraged KendoUI to add functionality quickly. We don't worry about browser conflicts or memory issues. There has yet to be a request so bizarre we cannot accommodate the client. It was somewhat complex and confusing to adopt, leading developers using it to take shortcuts or implement code that was somewhat less tha fully understood. (leveraging examples, external code, etc.) The integration of some features was kind of opaque. Also, the UI features need to be updated and improved-- what was excellent three years ago is now just 'meh'. **Recommendations to others considering Progress Kendo UI:** May be useful, but you should evaluaate alternatives.
