It has a well built in cost code system that corresponds to the 50 divisions. **What do you dislike about ProEst?** ProEst is not very user-friendly for individuals who struggle with computers in the first place. Construction unfortunately has a large percentage of individuals working that are not very computer literate, and ProEst doesn't make it easy for those who are struggling to understand why the estimate isn't working to problem solve what user-error is in the system. In an industry and subsection that is extremely fast-paced it's also easy to miss an error that is causing a multiplicative factor to occur until it's too late. **Recommendations to others considering ProEst:** If you pick up on systems quickly, there is a lot of good information and capabilities in the system but if your estimators are not the most computer literate individuals or struggle with problem solving technology, I would probably think twice. That being said, be aware that although ProEst claims to be updating their system, we have been using the software for about a year now and haven't seen any updates. If any updates were given, we were not informed of them and whatever team is in charge of rolling out updates has not communicated with the users. **What problems is ProEst solving and how is that benefiting you?** ProEst has been great for collaboration and the ability to have multiple individuals work on one estimate at the same tim. ### 9. The software syncs with our project management system and is a great asset to our company. **What do you dislike about ProEst?** Setting up and implementing ProEst does take a substantial amount of time depending on the amount of cost codes and figures that need to be entered. **Recommendations to others considering ProEst:** If possible, purchase it! Huge database and pre-built assemblies Bid day summary to use for sub-contractor bid tabulation **What do you dislike about ProEst?** Learning curve is steep and you have to pay a lot for the training The Tech support is not that good, so if you are stuck at some point, you have to open a ticket with them and wait for their call to assist you Database setup takes a lot time It doesn’t offer compatibility with Mac which can be a problem for some users **Recommendations to others considering ProEst:** The biggest advantage of ProEst is having a reliable cost database. If you already have a reliable database of historical costs, you can input it into the ProEst database. However this is a very time consuming process.
