Top Rated Procreate Alternatives
I have used drawing tablets like Wacom before to create illustrations, but it was difficult to adapt to watching the drawing happen on screen while your tablet is blank. I use an iPad Pro to draw with Procreate and it has been going well so far. I've had the app for about a month now. It's great to draw directly onto the screen and your hand doesn't affect the drawing except for using the undo feature or eyedropper tool. If you used free drawing apps before, the tools are pretty similar and easy to learn. The user interface is very clean and user-friendly. What I also like is how you can export your illustration into multiple different files and formats. For example, PNG and JPGs, or even editable files like PSD. You can also send easily send them to an email address or airdrop them to your computer, phone, or another iPad (must be an apple product to use the airdrop feature). You also get this app for a great price of just $10. You don't need to pay a monthly fee like how you for Adobe products. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I dislike is how some tools are pretty new to users, and how there isn't a tutorial for the more difficult tools. I had to spend a good amount of time watching YouTube tutorials to find out what those tools did and how to use them. I also dislike how the app is only available on the Apple store, and not available for android products. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I love the simple and easy to use interface. It makes drawings and design 100 times easier. The brush selection rivals photoshop. I love that it's not subscription based and does most if not all of what Photoshop does. You pay one small fee and it's yours for life. It's a great option if you're tired of Adobe's subscription fees. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I wish there was more layer effects and manipulation options. Other than that, I can't think of much. It pretty much does everything I'd want it to do. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like that procreate is very intuitive and easy to use. It eases user tasks with the efficient use of gestures. While using it, I found myself amused by its many features and I look forward to exploring more of them. With procreate, you the gap between creative skill and technical skills is way shorter and there are ample resources and support online to get you started. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It can be a little daunting to a first time user nonetheless, there is a lot of help to get you creating. It is therefore important to note that gaining mastery of this tool would most likely take some time and practice as it is a sophisticated tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The tool is incredibly flexible, allowing for a wide variety of illustration styles utlizing realistic and responsive brushes. Built-in animation is an added bonus, and the cherry on top is that you pay once and never, ever have to give them another cent. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only real drawback is that it doesn't work for creating vector graphics. Adobe has a similar app that does, but Adobe lacks many of the drawing features (line and shape snapping come ti mind) that make sketching and concept ideation fly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like the ease of use and the user experience.
I have been using design apps for 15 years now, but Procreate has been the one I have had the easiest time learning how to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
With illustrations that have more layers and are heavier, it crashes very, very often. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's cheap to download. They're FANTASTIC at keeping the app up to date and are always adding new features and listening to feedback. I'm looking forward to getting a newer iPad purely because I want to be able to use more layers. I LOVE this app! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I'd love to have more layers available. I know this is something I will be able to get with a newer iPad though.
I would love it if I could organise my files better within the app. It would be AMAZING to have sub-folders.
In an ideal world, I'd like a more streamlined way of backing up my files to the cloud. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Where to start with Procreate? Inside this app, first-time artists and experienced professionals will find tools that can help take their art to the next level. It doesn't take long to discover the tools and even master them to create stunning designs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Honestly, there isn't much I don't love about the app. If I had to be picky, some of the pencil brushes could be smoother on it. And if they could add a vector brush like Adobe Fresco, that would take it to the next level for sure. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like how there are so many different brush options to create art. It is such a fun and convenient way to make art no matter where you are. I also love how you are able to use this app for animating as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes the app becomes really slow if you have been using it for a long period of time at once. This also happens if you have a lot of files in your library. It is also a little frustrating that only certain iPads can have the latest version of Procreate, because if I use a different device and want to share that drawing with another device, it doesn't always work. There are an array of brushes to choose from which help to achieve a specific look within your art. The added bonus is the ability to share a video of your process from beginning to end. And the ability to animate within the app is a huge plus! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are no options to create vector art within the program. I understand that it is a raster program, however, it would be nice to have the option to create vector paths much like you can do with the raster program, Photoshop. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The flexibility it provides to create from scratch or from any level. I love the color palette. Also the ability to create a color palette from an image. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's a bit complicated to use at first because of the number of tools and commands it has. It can become frustrating. I would like to see a manual from Procreate so that users don't have to look for information elsewhere. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
