What do you like best about Palo Alto Networks Next-Generation Firewalls?

Palo Alto firewall is not just a firewall, it is more than a firewall. The best part of the firewall which I like most user friendly UI and robust firewall upgrade process which has 99.999% success rate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Palo Alto Networks Next-Generation Firewalls?

Well as such I don't have any dislike but yes some times when you work for small orgnization, you won't get chance to work on Palo Alto because it is bit costlier compare to other OEM's. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Palo Alto Networks Next-Generation Firewalls solving and how is that benefiting you?

If I compare the Palo Alto NGFW with other OEM's in terms of performance, administration, User friendlyness, it will always have edge over them. And these are some real time challenges that we need to face during the firewall operation and I am happy to say Palo Alto is solving these challenges for us. What do you like best about Palo Alto Networks Next-Generation Firewalls?

Best thing about Palo Alto Networks Next-Generation Firewalls is Transparency and AppID.

Often times you'll find other vendors referencing max throughput which is measured in really strict conditions and/or without utilizing full security features on firewall. This is often times really missleading. When you look at PANW firewall throughput, it's measured while having all the beneficial services running.

AppID is really mind blowing part of the Firewall. From Reducing the attack surface by approving exactly what is the bare minimum of necessary apps. (Firewall it self offloads this for you, using the Policy Optimizer) all the way to knowing the impact of using such appliactions.

Generaly, features by themselves are something that you expect from firewall to have, however the approach that was taken, Reducing the Attack surface, is really what makes the ZTNA possible. All the way from segmentation, continuously inspecting the traffic, only from specific users/groups, and only allowed applications is a unbeatable combination. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Palo Alto Networks Next-Generation Firewalls?

I only dislike commit time, when you want to make a fast change and see result quickly, you must pass through commit that takes around 45 sec to complete. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Palo Alto Networks Next-Generation Firewalls solving and how is that benefiting you?

PANW Firewall is providing a complete platform for enabling ZTNA.

From creating a security zones (aka Segments), and only allowing traffic within explicitly defined zones,

Implementing user identification (either transparent or explicit) which has endless posibilities.

Using Security Profiles to inspect allowed traffic.

Using Decryption that is not intrusive by default. (Firewall bypasses decryption on certain errors, so users are not escalating to support) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Palo Alto Networks VM-Series Virtual Firewall?

I have worked with global enterprise clients using different Network VM solutions and Palo Alto worked for us for two main aspects: having PA deployed universally on all our firewalls facilated the internal management of our naas by our team and the support from PA when needed was always spot on. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Palo Alto Networks VM-Series Virtual Firewall?

VM firewalls can only have 9 DP interfaces that's a limitation that this kind of product has Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Palo Alto Networks VM-Series Virtual Firewall solving and how is that benefiting you?

For our Naas architecture we benefited in terms of automation of the policy and device management, cost efficiency and scalability. In fact having several customers we often need to modificate policy and configuration and to rather migrate, change the architcture or install or dismiss new firewalls. So having an unique system like the PA solution is huge benefit for us. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Palo Alto Networks Panorama?

For me, one of the best features that Palo Alto Networks Panorama offers is: the centralized management and the visibility across multiple firewalls. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Palo Alto Networks Panorama?

For me Palo Alto Networks Panorama offers many good features, the Complexity for New Users, Learning Curve and the Initial Setup are some aspects that the users can find hard or difficult at the beginning. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Palo Alto Networks Panorama solving and how is that benefiting you?

One problem experienced was that Without centralized management, the organization face a hard time trying to enforce uniform security policies across a large network. And that generate security vulnerabilities for the company.

The Solution that Palo alto offers is that allows the centralized creation and the enforcement of security policies, that can be applied across all the managed firewalls in the network of the company.

From my point of view, the benefit that i can observed is that the consistency in the security posture and a stronger defense against differents attacks, that offers Palo Alto, and the security policies are uniform across the whole environment, it will reduce the chances of a policy loophole and a hard time for the company. What do you like best about Palo Alto Networks Next-Generation Firewalls?

The ease of use and quick integration make it a very useful tool, especially considering all the features it contains. It has also been very easy to onboard people to teach them how to use it, which hasn't been my experience with some competitors. Overall, it does it's job of securing our systems well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Palo Alto Networks Next-Generation Firewalls?

In my experience, it essentially just boils down to the cost. It is noticeably pricier compared to it's alternatives. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Palo Alto Networks Next-Generation Firewalls solving and how is that benefiting you?

It is a very robust firewall solution that has been easy to work with. I am on the user side of things, so not entirely sure how hard it is to maintain, however I do have experience setting it up and that was pretty easy to figure out. I haven't needed support (which is a good thing, of course) so I don't know much about that side of things. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Prisma Access?

My favorite feature of Prisma Access is its ability to afford consistent, startup-grade security to roaming and branch offices while not having to reinvent an on-premises infrastructure. As a Zero Trust solution, it makes sure that the users get access to only the resources that they are allowed to access and scaling is easy. This single management solution also contains many features convenient for efficient operation, avoiding the complication of the process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Prisma Access?

The first disadvantage of Prisma Access is complexity for teams unfamiliar with solutions from Palo Alto or SASE solutions. In fact, pricing can be steep, which limits the feasibility of using the approach by small organizations. Users have also complained of sometime difficulties in configuring as well as solving complex problems related to the software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Prisma Access solving and how is that benefiting you?

Prisma Access solves the problem of the protection of dispersed and hybrid workforces and offers secure access for all employees and branches the same way the enterprise expects from fully protected premises. This is an effective Zero Trust model of operation coupled with high-end threat prevention that makes the administration of decentralized teams manageable by providing users with efficient access to the resources they require, wherever they may be. It thereby improves efficiency by providing a well-protected interface for users and the simplification of the dispersion across multiple security products. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
