Highly customizable & flexible video animator app. This is something like Canva, but I think this could be a better choice for creating video for your company or personals use. Their templates are great. Specially, I love their templates for marketing and promotional video. You can see the screenshot that I have attached in this review before going with Powtoon. I like the easy-to-navigate canvas. It's much more intuitive than it was in the early days. I also like the way I keep seeing them innovate. They are always looking for ways to improve upon the product components as well as the user interface. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Early on, I found it really hard to figure out the interface. Now, things are more intuitive and also there is a lot less clicking around because they allow you to make many changes directly from where you're working on the canvas. That saves a lot of time. Powtoon continuously improves its core product, making a great product even better day by day. I've used Powtoon as an instructional designer and instructor for the past 6 years. I've maintained a Pro account because of all of the amazing features. I use it to develop presentations, tutorials, and some screen recordings that keep audiences engaged. I really do not dislike anything. Had you asked me a few years ago, I might have complaints about the lack of diverse characters and options and a slow editor, but all of these problems have been resolved. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

EVERYTHING!!!!I

I like all the new changes that the app now allows. I waited so very long for these changes. I was using the app before many of these cool additions were even possible. To see everything just come together now making animations so easy and accessible to everyone is just fantastic. They are very much on par with a particular competitor. I can't wait to see where they are and what they will do in another 5 years

So many, many cool things where do I begin

1. You can customize a character's shape of the face, skin tone, hairstyle, clothing(tops, bottoms, footwear) add accessories, like earing, glasses, hats etc. with a few easy clicks ( a kid can do it)

2. Characters now finally can perform multiple poses/movements, walk, run, sit, lecture, type, chat on the phone, sleep, dance, yoga, crunches, sit play and so much more

3. Characters even now have lots of emotions, scared, happy, sad, angry...

4. You can download your files as Powerpoint documents to work in other formats, export as GIF, export direct to Youtube or Vimeo, even download slides as jpg files

5. Toggle back and forth between the edit/create buttons to change the style of template slides or add new elements to your videos or make them fully customized Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The Timeline can be a little clunky based on the browser you are working it

I wish Powtoon would break out the timeline into multiple layers or levels for more control of the timing of actions.

There are articles that "explain" how to do things these articles automatically assume that you have a good hold on how to navigate the site as they do not show how to insert items to how to get to a certain option from the home page. A video that shows how to access certain options from the home page would be ten fold more helpful. It is not as intuitive to learn how to use as some may have you believe. But if you have 3-4 extra hours a day and a lot of patience then I believe you would master this software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
